Yet another great option in the world of food trucks! My first visit here was at the Fremont Sunday Market on a beautiful, sunny day. After being offered a sample of their signature Wicked Smoked Potato Salad, I took a look at the menu and decided to try a few options. The pork slider was very tasty although a bit on the small side given the $3.00 price tag, but I wasn't too worried about it. The clam chowder was very good, with a very creamy flavor and lots of clams. Some chowders are more broth than anything else, but this one had a lot of stuff as well. Now days food trucks need to do a lot to stand out in the growing crowd of options, and this one seems to be setting itself apart. Lynn has the most amazing attitude about food and explained each dish to us. As a food person, I found how each dish was prepared and what cut of pork she used very interesting. The food was fair at best, but worse, the girl was a TOTAL B! After ordering from "My Chef Lynn's food truck, we went off and ate. On our way back, we decided to throw our trash in the trash can in front of the "My Chef Lynn" truck and then the girl in the truck then YELLED "thank you for using MY trash can to throw away YOUR trash". I walked back to the truck and let her know that the TRASH I threw away was ordered from her truck. She then YELLED "Ohh, thanks for ordering from My Chef Lynn". I've been robbed. I had the 3 pork tacos and a 'bowl' of chowder. The tacos were so small that they could have been on an appetizer menu and they really weren't 'world class' couldn't even tell if the pork was smoked or not. The chowder would have been good but a 'bowl' here is what most places would consider a cup. All in all for the $16+ I spent on my lunch I was glad I couldn't figure out how to add a tip on their lame ipad app. Needless to say, I'm still hungry and done with Seattle food trucks in general. read more

First off, I am quite surprised to hear someone complain about the service. The ladies who work this food truck are super nice. No complaints there. Overall the food quality is very good. Food is flavorful and high quality. Unfortunately the portions are downright small. For $11.50, I expect to get a healthy serving and not leave hungry. Unfortunately the two times I have eaten have left me disappointed, not with the food I ordered; just with the portions. This review is solely based on the "Wicked Smoked Potato Salad". I have no idea how the customer service is, since my co worker brought it back to the office for me. Didn't know what to expect with all the mixed reviews. I had the pork tacos and they were out of this world. The pork was so tender and flavorful. I can't really tell you what else was on these tasty tacos because I inhaled them. There were also some kind of sauces on them that were sweet and tangy, onions and cilantro too. The shells were awesome also. Service was quick and good. I did witness one lady stomp away angrily because she felt like the music on the truck was too loud. Her loss. Wow - excellant food; excellant service. I had the smoked spareribs - very nice flavor and very nice texture. I found myself gnawing on the bones, trying to get every last good bite. And the Wicked Smoked Potato Salad - OMG; I have never had smoked potatoes before; what a great flavor. There are few potato salads I actually like; if I want it, I'll make it myself, but this was killer - very, very good. I wish I could award 10 stars just for the potato salad! Food trucks can be pretty iffy, but this one is clean and looks nice. It's raining today, but I understand she has tables and chairs when the weather cooperates; she's got music going - there's a huge flat panel TV to show videos to enjoy while you eat. I ordered the smoked potato salad and the meatloaf slider. The slider was simply delicious and addictive. I ended up ordering two more and eating them before I got back to work. Very tasty. The potato salad on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. The potatoes were in huge chunks and had a weird texture and there seemed to be random meat (chicken I think) thrown in. Then it was mixed with what a appeared to be mayo and, maybe, ranch causing it to have a very watery effect. I was only able to choke down three bites before throwing it away. And they didn't have the mini cheesecake so I was a little disappointed. The service is excellent. The lady (I'm assuming was Lynn) was very friendly and helpful. The only negative thing I have to say about the service is that I had to wait about 5 minutes while she talked to her husband on the phone giving him directions. I almost gave up and left. read more

Chef Lynn's food truck is easy to see - or hear - from a distance. Its bright red paint job, coupled with blaring 80s music, doesn't hold a candle to the chef herself: Chef Lynn. A vivacious and gregarious woman, Chef Lynn makes a point to greet everyone in line with a smile and a joke. Clearly, customer service is her lifeblood. I can definitely see why people go back. The simple menu offers a few rustic choices: sliders, soups, and sammys. Chef Lynn updates it on the fly as needed; wielding a Magic Marker and her trademark ponytail, she slashes items as they sell out, and adds commentary. Sometimes she sings along with the 80s hits rolling over the crowd. Everyone there has a smile on their face. Unfortunately, Chef Lynn's food is less spectacular than the energy of the chef herself. The day I tried the cart, she offered several types of sliders, and a couple of different soups, salads, and sammys. I tried the pork and lamb sliders, with a side order of a cup of clam chowder (listed as gluten free). The slider buns were store-bought whitebread, which added a very unwelcome processed sweetness to each slider. The pork slider was missing something. Mushy pulled pork with a sweet BBQ sauce, with sweet pickles, on a sweet mushy whitebread bun, desperately needed something to offset the... mushy sweetness. The lamb slider was slightly better, with ground lamb spiced well and some micro-greens on the bun. Still, it was slathered with a sweet "Asian" sauce from a jar. Oddly, the crunchy peanut butter (in place of peanut sauce) was a good choice - it wasn't sweet. Since it's a food truck, customers will always be bringing the food back to another building to eat it. It's important, then, that your food holds up to being carried for a while. Chef Lynn's sliders unfortunately do not. The BBQ pork slider quickly dissolved into a tacky mess of overly-sweet sauce. The lamb slider stayed delicious. The soup was fine. I liked the clam chowder, even though I didn't expect it to be what it was. It's nowhere near real clam chowder (which would be thickened with a roux), but as a gluten-free alternative, I thought it was great. I like thin, brothy soups, so this was perfect for me. Instead of the usual heavy tubers, Chef Lynn had added celery and leeks. A slick of butter floated on the top. I was surprised when I opened the container and saw - instead of a chowder - a thin white liquid covered in butter, though. I would suggest calling this a chowder alternative, or a white clam soup. read more

We were at Elevation Cellars in Woodinville for a fundraiser and My Chef Lynn was serving food in the parking lot. I had a brisket slider which was small but soooo flavorful. My husband had a lamb slider that just about brought him to his knees; he was raving about it. We also shared a cup of clam chowder. It wasn't super thick like Ivars (which is a positive) but very creamy and clammy and wonderful. Lynn came into the winery and we chatted with her a bit. She was super friendly both in the truck and out of it. After reading the reviews I really wish we'd tried the smoked potato salad. She said she'll back in Woodinville in December, and I expect we'll go back and try it again. read more

Your smoked potato and arugula salad is the best side dish I tried in both Seattle and Portland. All the sliders were on point both in terms of the texture and the flavor, and thoughtful. They are not overwhelmed by the bun. The service I got was exactly what I want from a food truck, quick and with a smile. But what really seals the deal with me is the authenticity, seriousness and fun you have running the truck. Let that come out more often. So you have a temper, big deal, you're learning from your mistakes and you know customers make or break you. I had one of the most fantastic experiences here. I was buying a car at evergreen ford in issaquah and suddenly this big beautiful black and red truck pulled up, opened the window and started serving food. Truck had Espn playing with some great music jammin and the vibe was just all there. I ordered the clam chowder and all 3 different types of sliders and I have to say. Hands down best clam chowder I've ever had. The lamb slider was something I've never experienced and the pork/chicken was to die for. Can't wait to try the chili and tacos next time. I've only experienced this truck ONCE and this review is about their pulled pork sliders on 9/20. I ordered the 3 pulled pork for $8 and it was a DISAPPOINTMENT. Very little filling (kind of bland too) and the bun was DRY. Service was ok; a young man let me sample their special quinoa salad. Okay, I'm excited about the (not so) new phenomenon of food trucks. Maybe it's because of their limited menus that allow the chef to really focus on individual dishes, or maybe it's just that I love eating outdoors. Whatever it is, I've found some awesome food lately.....and Chef Lynn is no exception. You should track the truck down on twitter for two items - The Lamb Slider and the Wicked Smoked Potato Salad. This isn't your typical slider by any stretch of the imagination. The lamb is succulent and the contrast of the sweet peanut butter, the cilantro, and the heat from the siracha, all on a fabulous little mini-brioche bun is killer. The flavors explode in your mouth and make your taste buds do a little happy dance. The bad news is that the potato salad will ruin all other potato salads for you for the rest of your life. It is wicked good. I orders the "tour" of sliders which included the lamb, beef brisket, and smoked pork, and while the pork was also wonderful, the brisket was good....but compared to the lamb, they just didn't stand a chance. The chili was also good, but if you're expecting a thick, rich, meaty bowl you'll be disappointed. That's not to say that the flavors weren't well balanced and it didn't have just the right amount of heat, but I just wasn't ready for a dish that was more soup than chili. Enjoy!! :). read more

Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience with My Chef Lynn. I was hoping to have them cater for a charitable banquet for Women's Education. I was given an invoice with the menu, but the invoice did not have the breakdown of the cost. I needed to give individual prices of items for my school to get the money to purchase the catering service. However, when I asked for a break down of the price, I got a text that said I should go with another caterer and that I was too "controlling" and "demanding" and they proceeded to not give me the price break down and dropped me 2 weeks prior to the event. I am a high schooler and I personally felt that they could have handled the situation better. Some of the texts that were sent were almost attacking and talked about my personality--which I don't think is fair in general, especially to a kid or even a customer. Also, knowing how much each item that you are paying for is a common thing to ask. Especially for budgeting while working with non-profits. For example, a menu gives the price of each dish. Other caterers serve by the cost of a plate. I got no specificity from them, which was a little shady. Overall, they were VERY rude and unprofessional. read more

She is unreliable and tries to make the rules instead of following the customers. Her personality turned me off to wanting to work with her.
