He is honest, fair, personable, and immediately puts you at ease. He explains everything clearly, never pressures you, and treats you like a person rather than another repair bill. He had worked on my car before, but on December 14, I was involved in the most terrifying accident of my life. My car spun around one and a half times on the freeway before crashing into the center divider with so much force that it practically split in half. The freeway was shut down, and the officers told me I should not have survived. No exaggeration--the first person I called was him. I work in Lancaster and live near Woodland Hills, and he took care of arranging the proper specialized tow for my electric Mercedes EQS all the way from Lancaster to my home. At a moment when I was terrified, shaken, and had no idea what to do next, he made me feel safe and taken care of. The best comparison I can give is that he is like a great doctor with an exceptional bedside manner. He is knowledgeable and skilled, but just as importantly, he is calm, compassionate, and trustworthy. His pricing is extremely fair, he remembers his clients and their family members, and he never judges you when your car is embarrassingly messy--he understands what life with kids looks like! I reached out to several places and barely got any responses. Then I heard back from Regal Repair. I explained what I needed and they said, "No problem, just bring it in. We'll install it for you." I asked, "How much?" They said, "Don't worry about it. We'll do it, no charge." UM... excuse me?! I knew they were going to have to take the door panel off and that it wasn't necessarily the easiest little fix, so I was genuinely shocked that they were willing to do it for free. They were so accommodating with my schedule that day, got me in quickly, and had everything done in about 30 minutes. I literally begged them to let me Zelle them something for their time and they repeatedly refused. People like this deserve to be recognized. They were genuinely kind, honest, and helpful when they absolutely did not have to be. They have a customer for life with me. Sadly I had a fender bender with my older car that State Farm decided to then total over fairly minimal body damage. They were incredibly patient as I worked out the process with insurance, Katherine assisted in getting an appraiser out and getting me over to a rental. Tom helped go over my options with me and gave fantastic advice on dealing with insurance and the best option. In the end, I decided to pay out of pocket because of the issues with State Farm and rescinded my claim. I know I could have bought it back salvaged but I had my reasons. Tom worked with me on parts and fixing what was necessary to help with my budget. They went above and beyond and even helped to fix some dents on a panel I did not want to replace to make it the best we could. I got my car back and I cannot believe how great it looks! The repair itself is flawless, panel gaps, paint match, everything lines up like it came off the line that way. On a G-Wagon that's not a given; plenty of shops will happily take a swing at one and hand you back something that's almost right. This isn't that. But the part that really made the difference was the insurance side. Dealing with the at-fault carrier is normally a part-time job you didn't apply for, endless calls, lowball estimates, supplements that go nowhere. Alex handled all of it. He knew exactly what to push back on and how to document it, and I basically just got updates instead of headaches. Zero fighting on my end. He also does diminished value reports, which I didn't even know was a thing I should be asking about. A car like this loses real money on paper just from having an accident on the record, and he walked me through recovering that. If you've been hit and nobody's mentioned diminished value to you, ask him about it. Bonus: the man knows the local food scene better than most people who write about it for a living.
