I love coming to this apothecary for pungent seasoning and spices. They sell everything in giant…read moremason jars, so you know what you're picking out. They even sell bulk items such as nuts, flour, nutritional yeast, dried fruit, natural detergent, oils, loose-leaf teas, etc. Some are made in-house, including vegan hot chocolate mix. I like getting my seasonings and spices here, opposed to the grocery store, because it is very fresh and hasn't been sitting out for years upon years on end. There aren't a lot of raw vegan restaurants down south of 45, but surprise, surprise, Natural Living has raw vegan onsite. I've only eaten there twice, and due to the limited hours throughout the week. I am only able to get down here on the weekends in the morning. I frequent Nokturne more as a vegan restaurant in CL, just due to the simple fact of the flexibility of hours. At Natural Living, I ordered the taco salad; it was vegan meat crumbles and veggies. There were more veggies than meat. A limited amount of dressing to lather the veggies, so it made the salad a bit dry, but tasty. I loved the peanut butter cookies on sale. They were my favorite. I love that they have a food fair program for organic fruits/vegetables from local gardeners. I'm not a big fan of organic anything as I feel that it is more of a marketing gimmick, but if others care about that, that's a perk. The program is very affordable. I've personally never tried it, but I always wanted to. The ambiance can be a bit off; the staff is sometimes nice, sometimes don't want to be bothered. The apothecary side of things system is just grab jars of what you want, and they weigh it, put it in baggies, and you pay for it. However, things can get complicated when there a multiple people on the apothecary side and there is nowhere to wait since the whole building is tight and small. Now the pricing; this establishment isn't the cheapest, but when you factor in the value of what you are purchasing with the quantity of goods, then you are getting a solid deal. They sell crystal jewelry, and parking is across the street. I always tell people I'm going to the apothecary, and when they Google it, they can't find it, so it is definitely a hidden gem. I would have given them 5 stars across the board, but with the very limited hours not good for the working class working between 8 am - 5 pm; they close at 6 pm, closed on Sundays and Mondays. I hate that, but I will continue to only come on Saturdays.

The membership gives you access to their weekly food shares of fruits and vegetables you may not otherwise have access to, and they offer herbal shares as well. Lisa, the owner, is sweet and welcoming. She's been helpful in getting me acclimated to how everything works. The more I go, the more I learn. She's an herbalist and offers consultations as well. And even though it can be busy during the food shares pickup hours, she always makes time to engage. The whole staff has been warm and welcoming and it's to no surprise. The atmosphere is serene. There's a sense of peace that comes over me when I walk in. Me and my husband enjoy sitting down for a bite to eat from the organic cafe. The food is amazing. It's all handcrafted, with high-quality organic ingredients. It's gluten free and made from scratch. If you can't stay and eat you can call in your order to-go. Also, with the membership you get discounts on bulk items and certain events. You can lend a hand and volunteer as well. It feels like you're walking into a family home that its main goal is to assist you in your health and healing journey. It's a complete mind, body, and heart experience. I'm happy to be part of the family.

The only thing wrong with this place is the server. I'm coming to this movie king for years since…read morethey opened. And since They hired this young one African American lady or girl, I should say. I hate coming in here when she's working, especially when she's working. The register, the manager and most of the employees have a specific drink. They have set aside for me. I ask him the lady today. The young lady to change the flavor to coffee and just keep the drink the same with the proteins and the between. Everything she argued with me. About how I wanted her to do that, I realized that she was gonna cause a problem so I just had just given me a coffee expresso the way it ask her, how many cards were in the drink. Cause I have on this specific diet. And I have to have a certain measure of carbs and protein which everyone in here knows except her. She proceeded to tell me that was not her job to look it up. She handed me the book, which I do not know how to read hard book. Are you out the Smoothie King book on the cards and write down which I'm sure I could learn. But I've never had any other employee hand me the book. They always look it up. I assumed that that was their job. She said no, that's not my job to look that up and refuse to do it. Then she finally did it. For some reason I argue with you. Which was stupid on my part.. About looking Up the carbs cause I really wanted to know. Anyway, sadly to say made for a bad experience at my Baytown. Through the game where I live, I can rectify this problem your manager and I'll be other employees are fantastic. I always get 5 stars with this sad excuse for South movie king and poor I think she's for sure. She should be in the map back mopping, or if you'll have a warehouse. You could put around because she's not meant for customer service. I watched her weight on 2 other people. Not cracker, smile very depressed order, move on, not very welcoming it off. Aside from the fact telling me it wasn't her job to look up. What's in a drink? Pretty sad excuse for an employee.
