I am a 65 year old on disability. my dog in July of 2023 all of a sudden was coughing and weak and not eating. ihave been good about his vet care. he had been at this vet for several years. Getting his shots, being looked over and being checked for heart worms. He was on flea Medication and no other medication. He was 10 and doing well I thought. I went on a cruise with my oldest daughter for 4 days. I left him with my youngest daughter and she said he fine the first 2 days but all of a sudden he used the bathroom on the floor. He had never had an accident since he was 4 months old. She had a dog herself and he was going outside with him to potty. i knew something was wrong so I made an appointment for him when we got home. The vet tech only saw him in the car. Would not let him in. He never saw the vet. He was prescribed an antiobiotc. He did not get any better and continued to get worse. I took him back. Again I never got to see or talk with the vet. I was told he needed all kinds of tests. Being on a fixed income I didnt have the money. They told me about care credit for pets. I loved my dog and wanted to do everything I could to save him. He was my companion. I got a $900 line of credit because thats what they told me it would cost to run tests And get a plan for him. Again I never talked or saw the vet. I was told after the tests 3 days later that he was in congestive heart failure and that he would need to have the fluid drained off his lungs weekly at $150 every time. I was devastated. All of this tine and money and I couldn't help him. They knew he couldn't be helped and had me jump through hoops to try to save him. Less than a week after I took out a $900 loan paid directly to budget l vet I had to have him put to sleep. Still never seeing or talking to a vet. Took my cat, my baby here back in September and waited an hour before they came to us. I asked the tech or whoever about some medical issues that my baby has been going through before she took her and she had never heard of an ear polyp before. She was super sweet and understanding but it just shows how much the vet doesn't care enough about this establishment. It needs to be shut down. It smells horrible, looks run down, and has a very unsettling energy. Horrible place. Don't take your fur babies here if you want them to do treatment without your consent. They shaved a part of my fur baby for a blood test. I've taken my girl to many vets and this is the only place I've been to that takes your fur baby without you into the room and shaves for a blood test. They also let your pet sit in a cage with other animals for hours before they do their "treatment". They deny you what you already know what's wrong with your baby. I have medical records from many different vets that all say that she has an ear polyp THATS SHES ALREADY HAD SURGERY FOR, but they denied that and said she has PSS?? Waste a time and tears. On my most recent visit, I asked to meet with the doctor who was going to be amputating my dogs leg and I am happy to say that Dr. Daley was wonderful! She reassured me that Sol would be okay, she explained to me how she would do the surgery and answered all my questions. I do believe this practice has amazing Doctors! My experience here was absolutely horrific. I took my cat here to get a check up for his breathing. The smell was so NASTY when you walk in. The bathrooms are very dirty and it was just unsanitary. Breeders came in after us and got seen before us even when we had an appointment. I waited for 2 HOURS!!! Before they even saw us. Not only did we wait forever to be talked to they took the cat and I was not allowed to go into the room with him. I have never even heard that in my entire life I always got to go in and I like meeting my vets. Took such great care of my new kitty! They were able to fit me in same day without an appointment, were transparent with pricing, & gave me great advice for a first time cat owner. The smell everyone is crying about is because they take care of lots of types of animals, including horses & other large animals. Obviously it's going to smell like animals but it's not as bad as people are making it seem. The front desk girl was nothing but sweet & helpful. I think people come in here looking for royal treatment because they bought an expensive dog but want budget services. I made an appointment to have my dog Progesterone tested. My appointment was at 12pm and I was not "seen" until around 1:30pm. When I was seen a vet assistant approached me to take Zarah back. I was not made aware that this vet primarily uses vet assistants rather than doctor appointments (meaning that you do not get a room with your pet & they just take your pet to the back without you). It would have been helpful to be given the option or knowledge being as though this vet has never seen my dog. I had questions for the doctor about the procedure & just about the veterinary Practice in general but I was not able to speak with a doctor. My dog is very anxious when left with strangers so I would have chosen a different vet office if this knowledge would have been made known to me or waited for an available doctor appointment. Zarah arrived on her correct dosage of Gabapentin & Trazodone which she has had successful vet visits in the past on this medication. When they informed me that they would be taking her back alone, I had many questions as I thought I would be at least speaking with a doctor, the vet assistant was very rude & not understanding that the information was not disclosed. I asked her if we could have an exam room because a blood draw is very simple & it's no need to stress my pet out trying to drag her away from me. She refused, dragged my dog away screaming, & returned her to me two minutes later to tell me she could not handle her. Vets need to be accommodating of different dog's needs because not every pet is the same, my dog was so drugged up that she could barely walk so I did not understand how they could not handle her. They offered to fully sedate her, I could not even understand how they could further sedate a dog that could not walk without knowing the exact milligrams of her current medication so I found that very unprofessional. Long story short, I went over to countryside vet & they aloud Zarah to sit on me while getting her blood drawn, took about two minutes, hassle free, she was also falling asleep while the procedure was done. The vet was very confused with why they could not handle such a drugged dog (also muzzled by the way). I believe my budget vet has poorly trained staff for the diversity that different dog's personalities may bring to the clinic & they are very unaccommodating for a two minute procedure. While I waited over an hour for my appointment. I did inform them that I traveled an hour for her procedure & waited an hour after her appointment time as they were running behind, I find that even more unprofessional that they weren't willing to make an accommodation for my time spent. Was able to make an appointment online and be seen within a few days. Due to COVID, they have you stay in your vehicle and they come out and get your pet. I met several different employees during my pets visit, each person was polite and friendly. Pricing is fair, I had a cat check up and a couple of vaccinations, my total was under $100. I only deducted a star due to the wait time. I was there on time (early actually) but overall was there for an hour and 20 minutes. They were rather busy. Overall, I am pleased with my initial visit. *Update* I returned to this vet 2 weeks after my initial visit to have my cat neutered. Everything went well, I was given a time to pick him up, but received a call about 3 hours before that time that my cat was out of surgery and had no complications. I was able to head over and pick him up early. The price was again, under $100. In fact, I only paid $45 (after the $25 appointment deposit) and that included 1 booster vaccine, an E collar, and two gallon size bags of shredded paper for his litter box. I can't say enough about Dr. Lassiter and her Vet Tech's. My little shihtzu had xrays at our regular vet in Atlanta to find a lump on his spleen - omg - being pregnant and knowing that my 12 year old shih tzu that GREW UP WITH ME might have serious issues totally broke my heart. My vet estimated $2600 for the procedure to remove his spleen and the lump.. We are in the midst of COVID, i'm saving for a baby, my boyfriend had to leave his job to be deployed for COVID - financially I would do anything, but that was a large amount. I volunteer with Ruff Dog Rescue and the founder could not say enough about Dr. Lassiter and boy was she right!! The team took such GREAT CARE of my baby, did the surgery, updated me through the entire procedure, and in the end I paid $986. Now I would never compromise my dogs health to save money - but that's my entire point, this office truly LOVES YOUR ANIMALS. not only are they affordable but the effort and passion they put into your pet is worth MORE than the $2600 I would have spent. This is a place of business that truly cares about your pet, and doesn't strip you of every penny. The Vet Tech's were outstanding, they were so knowledgeable and just I cried of happiness when I picked up my baby boy. I originally just wanted to get my dog's shots, but the receptionist had no problem adding on any medications/services I wanted after I arrived. I ended up getting my dog's shots, some heart worm meds, a dose of flea/tick medication, and a nail trim for such a great price! They even made sure to let me know that I can come once a month for my baby's nail trim, no appointment necessary. I also appreciated how the receptionist made me aware of the price of everything I added on throughout the visit, just so I was clear. All in all, it was a great experience. My experience at budget vet was very controversial. Online, The price for ear cropping says that it costs $420 for a dog under 25 lbs which in my case, my dog was less than 25 lbs. However, after everything was said and done, the price came out to be nearly $700. Do not be fooled by the prices online. In addition, I had some questions for the vet in which I emailed them and just simply asked for clarification as to why I was paying $700 for this procedure. At first, my questions were answered and my mind was clear, although, since in my email I added that my dog had some issues with the e-collar and I addressed that issue and asked for some sort of "compensation (such as medicine)" to fix his infection from the e-collar, the vet emailed me with a very rude response. Keep in mind, when I had brought my dog into this vet the veterinarian was cussing at all of her employees which was very unprofessional. The veterinarian was completely rude to me when emailing me about my dog saying that it did not even look like an infection and i was just overexaggerating. The vet told me she was a very upfront person and that if I want to go to a vet that will be nice to me and my dog, I will apparently get "bad service" from people being nice to me. Very funny. My dog had knee surgery here and got MRSA (dog version-MRSP). They treated the infection and it went away, but recurred a few months later. The orthopedic surgeons say the bacteria is recurring because it is housed in the surgical material, and it must be removed, but no surgeon will do it because they don't want to risk getting MRSP in their clinic. I went back to Budget Vet with this information and requested that they treat the dog, and they refused. I also only saw a veterinarian one time in the 10 months my dog was a patient there. I would not recommend using Budget Vet. I took my 2 small dogs in because they were severely dehydrated. They had terrible diarrhea and I wanted them to give them fluids. We were the first ones there and were told to pick them up at closing. I specifically told them that they needed fluids because they weren't eating and had terrible diarreah for 4 days. When I went to pick them up at closing I was told that they weren't given any food or water all day. They were just caged up all day and not examined until right before closing . All they did was examine their poop. We were the last customers to leave. I feel like we weren't as important as the breeders because everyone was taken care of before us. When I let them know that I was mad about them not giving my dogs water all day-they were avoiding talking to me until closing when I was the only one left in the lobby. I spent over $1000 in 2 days with them and all they did was check my dogs and my Son's dogs poop. I feel like they are only there for the money and not because they care about animals. This is the most unprofessional clinic I have EVER been to. Yesterday I brought my dog Baby in as a drop off to check on the sores in the pictures provided. She had been throwing up for weeks and threw up the night before which is why I asked if they were available to see Baby today. I had an appointment the day before, but due to a family emergency (which I said to the receptionist when I walked in) I was unable to come in. I should have called to cancel which was my bad but it slipped my mind. I dropped Baby off at 8 in the morning and called back at 3:30-4 to check on her since I heard nothing. They told me that the doctor had diagnosed her with ringworm. This seemed strange to me because the sores were from a tick bite of a tick that I personally pulled out. I explained that it was from a tick bite and they proceeded to tell me there's no signs of it being from a tick bite. Once again I pulled the tick out myself and checked the pull site weekly. I saw the infection grow. When I asked to speak to the Dr the receptionist told me that the Dr refused to speak to me. My mother had to pick Baby up for me since I was at work and I asked them to give my mom Baby's medical records as well as a description of the exam from the doctor. I refused the medication they were going to give her but my mom picked it up and paid for it anyway. When I come back home the paperwork they provided for me was an invoice, 5 pages of a Wikipedia page on ringworm, and the note I have pictured here. They did not run any test on my animal they only looked at her and sent her with some medicine. They must've thought that my concern was a joke, but I think it was disgusting and unprofessional. I took my dog to the vet for a second opinion and he diagnosed her with skin dermatitis. Due to scratching the irritated area Baby caused an infection at the site of the tick bite and the infection spread. I called today to ask for a refund since I'm not going to use the fungal medicine they prescribed and I was greeted with the Dr. screaming at the top of her lungs at me. The doctor said, "I don't know who you think you are but you're not getting a refund. You missed your appointment yesterday, you insisted that your dog was so sick and needed to be seen today so us being nice squeezed her in. You were rude to my staff and refused medication it's called an OPINION look it up! You are not getting a refill because your mother bought it already and don't ever come into my clinic again! That's all you need to know!" She then hung up on me. She would not let me speak before screaming at me like I was a child. Disgusting behavior for an adult especially a doctor. Not a good vet not a good neuter place unless you want to be told to just put the cone back on a sugar glider that could bite you that is not bonded. There's such a large communication gap because the lady at the front does not speak fluent English very well and does not want to let you speak to anybody else that does speak fluent English. My mother brought a sugar glider in to get neutered and in route of coming home somebody left the cone too loose after surgery so the sugar glider came loose tearing the surgical incisions apart. The receptionist at the front told my mother just to stick the cone back on it would be OK. She didn't ask anything else and didn't really care either because they already got our money!!!!! Save your time and money just take your pet to Atlanta they would do a much better job and you'll get much better service also I'm sure instead of somebody taking your money and not wanting to help you in telling you that they are too busy to talk to you...... Today was my first experience with My Budget Vet. My newly adopted medium sized female dog need to be spayed. My vet could not do it for 5-6 weeks, and this place was recommended by Jasper County Animal Control. They were able to accommodate me in just a few days. The website was very professional, but when I arrived at their location, I was surprised that it's in a residential area, in a steel type building. It looked pretty suspect, and when I entered, I even asked to see the vet's medical license. I felt kind of rude doing it, but I'm in the medical field, and needed to know that there was a licensed vet doing the surgery. They were very accommodating and showed me the license. I was told to return in 7 hours to pick her up. She has been uncomfortable and restless, but that is to be expected. I did not see the vet, but the vet techs were friendly, and good with Maggie. I feel that she was well taken care of, and would use them again if needed. (They are a little far from my home, so that would be the only deterrent.) read more

I was not impressed at all with their work. I took my 4 year old wiemeraner mix to be neutered. I got him home and noticed there was an extra small incision next to the main incision that had been glued together. I asked a vet tech friend about it and she said there should have been no reason for the extra cut. But the main issue is the main incision was HORRIBLY SLOPPY. It was stitched together very bad and VERY crooked.. he was in more pain than he should have been in. We are on day five and I still cannot take the e-collar off for even a second without him licking/biting the site. I will not be taking my female there for her spay. I guess in this case, you get what you pay for, although by the time it was said and done and they threw in all the "extra" charges, I could have taken him to a better vet... lesson learned read more

I started using Budget Vet when they were still mobile and always appreciated the affordability and the ease in setting appointments. I've primarily used them for spay/neuter but after a few high price visits to the vet and a condition not being found in one of my cats that Budget Vet found and is helping us resolve at a fraction of the cost I'm taking all my animals to them for all services now. I'm not understanding the comments about the drive, aesthetics, and negative experiences with staff. Their staff has always been very friendly. They offer the same services that all other vets do without ripping you off. I don't know about anyone else, but I've not seen my expensive vet face-to-face since the pandemic started and so complaining about not seeing the vet at Budget Vet is petty. Yes it's a farm and it's off the beaten path, but they offer a quality service at a reasonable price and if you expect a pristine location right around the corner from your house at these affordable prices then good luck finding it! read more

EXTREMELY ANGRY WITH THE SERVICE WE HAVE RECEIVED. On 7/30/19, we brought our dog to the clinic for a Soft Palate Resection. The surgery went well, so we thought. We arrived back to the clinic with a $500 Bill out of a $750 surgery (Odd Right?) We arrived home and noticed our dog hasn't drank anything and passed it off as normal. This went on for about three days and we finally decided he needed to see a vet. We saw 2 Vets in 1 Day. One being the emergency vet. They both deemed it as a Complication with the Surgery. They gave him IV and told us to wait it out. He still hasn't drank. So, he went BACK to the vet. Again, needing IVs because both times he was severely DEhydrated. Now, it is August 10th. He hasn't ate without being force fed in about 4 days and He still hasn't drank. He has had blood panels done and it all points back to this surgery. Our vet told us he needed to be brought back into this clinic to see the person who did the surgery because they'll have more knowledge of the complications. I called the Clinic and the receptionist insisted that they've been trying to get us to bring him in when that was the total opposite. They've instead been dodging our questions and responding with "Keep Us Updated" or "We are sorry to hear." The vetS also found that the Dr. went over kill on sedatives and anesthesia. I had the worst experience at this place! I brought my 13 y/o paralyzed dog to be euthanized. I assume because I had not been there before, the vet insisted on an exam , which I agreed to. They also wanted to do an x-ray which I did not want and they wanted to take her to the back to exam her without me. I have never been to a vet and not been able to be with my dog during an exam. Because I insisted I wanted to be with my dog during the exam they suggested I go elsewhere. It is beyond me how someone can care about and care for animals and can refuse service to a suffering animal. This business sucks! read more

Pre-phone call was very helpful; staff was courteous and was able to give me an estimate before coming. Drove 45 minutes to take my pit to get his vaccinations, an ear infection, and bites he received from a neighbor's dog that same morning and my cat for vaccinations and itchy ear. I was a bit shaken up, but the staff was professional, knowledgeable, really sweet to both pets and had the best prices and gave the quality care my pets deserve. I wish they were closer, but it was definitely worth it. Especially after researching several vets in the Greenbriar and South Fulton area, who left a lot to be desired. One place I didn't even bother going despite decent reviews; the receptionist was curt, unhelpful, and when asked for a price on looking at my dog's ear refused to give any estimates and was even reluctant to give prices for vaccinations. Uh, so I'm just supposed to waste my time and then be surprised, no thanks. Called a chain vet, but the reviews weren't good The last one I decided on was because of the fair reviews and the receptionist was very nice. NOT impressed. Once in the room the vet didn't even acknowledge my dog, just yelled for the help to get a muzzle, scoffed rudely when I said I was going the Lifeline Clinic to get their shots and stated that they were low quality that too many people go too...uh, if that's all you have I commend any owner for being responsible. Then, after explaining my dog's natural diet and using natural remedies for CERTAIN things, the vet had the nerve (w/attitude) to tell me that I didn't have to be natural about EVERYTHING..excuse me? Anytime I can eat naturally and alleviate certain ailments holistically or do the same for my dog and cat I WILL! AND their basic shots for a dog were $170??? Total rip-off! And was told by the vet that she only prefers working with pets that have had her unnecessary "TEN STRAND" shots!?! Definitely flew out of there. This organization is a family owned business that provides veterinary care via a mobile vet unit at multiple locations throughout the Atlanta area. I have used them on more than one occasion over the last several years for my Dachshunds for neutering, spaying, teeth cleaning, microchips, and regular immunizations. They have always provided excellent care for my babies and at a rate that cannot be beat by any other vet I've ever used in the past. They are down to earth folks that do what they do for rates that the average working family can actually afford. They have created processes that allow them to run their business efficiently and with minimal costs. Kudos to the businesses that support them and allow them to set up at their locations. They are an integral part of what makes My Budget Vet's system work. I fully trust the decisions they make for my babies and appreciate their wealth of knowledge when it comes to dogs and their behaviors and habits. I can't speak on their knowledge of other animals as I only have dogs, but I would be pretty certain they are well versed on all the animals they treat. Most unprofessional vet I have been to!! I had my dog inseminated here ..I was a little skeptic because it was our first time here and the location was at a farm with cows very where .. I had my concerns as anyone would .. Without any complaints I did very thing the doctor recommended but this lady decides to have a debate with me through email about what I said to her staffs ?!!!!! I was very concerned about my dog ..Didn't say anything about the procedure and actually complimented the doctors incision to be so small which was different form how my other vet operated .. Since my other vet wouldn't do the insemination since it's my girls second heat.She regulations are 3rd heat I found this vet .. Everything was different here from being a shack of a office to having cows all over the place so we were concerned but dosing day anything negative !!! Then this doctor Lassiter has the nerve to message me numerous times, lashing out as if I did something or said something and about her or her staffs !!!! She got quite defensive over literally nothing and says if something happens to my dog it's my fault !!! Wow ....is all I can say ..Now I am scared that she didn't do something right .I had to assure her that no one can fully trust a vet they have never been to .. but she get ranting !! I was going to stick with this vet if everything goes well but HELL NO there is no way I will he back !! Now I'm honestly thinking she didn't do something right !! Pls read the reviews !!!
