We were referred 2 dr D years ago when my boxer all of a sudden started limping. I went through several vets in Atl & we were getting no real answers or solutions. Then a friend of a friend in Avondale estates recommended dr D. I kept the number in my wallet for months then came across it one day & called them. For years now we've been taking our pets there. I used to be the biggest fan of Dr. Dennis and his office... recommended them to everyone. However, I have made the decision to switch veterinary offices. My sweet, lovable, big kitty has been dealing with and issue in which he was scratching himself raw under his chin. He was prescribed an ointment and sent back home. I didn't even get the antibiotics that I asked for. My thinking was that he was scratching open wounds with paws that had been in a litter box. I'm OCD with scooping it out.... but it's still a litter box. This goes on and on. Take him in, prescribed ointment, sent home, take him is, beg for another treatment method, get the same damn ointment, sent home. Fast forward to him still scratching himself raw and finding no relief. I was told (by a tech) to put a cone on him, which I did not do because it would be laying on open wounds and cause further irritation. I begged for other options and was told (not by Dr. Dennis) that the scratching is ingrained in him now. Mind you, I'm not a vet, but I call shenanigans. I (finally) listened to my gut and took him for a second opinion. My new office did the standard check list that every furry patient should undergo and they found issues with his ear, mites, and an infection... an infection so bad that pictures were sent to the Pfizer drug company because they're doing more research into cat issues and my baby was "a doozy". I sobbed. I cried because my baby was suffering for so long. I cried because I misplaced my trust. I cried because I didn't listen to my gut sooner, and I cried that my big beautiful boy was now a study for terrible infections. Add to that... I had my two (elderly) little dogs taken in for their yearly teeth cleaning. Little dog mouth is the worst and you must stay on top of it. Imagine my surprise when they had their yearly with my new vet and it was conveyed that perhaps my previous vet wasn't as proactive with aging dog teeth, leaving a couple of bad ones in their moths. This caused other teeth to turn bad quickly. $1,500 and many extractions later.... mistakes of this office were fixed by my new office. While I am thankful for the YEARS of care I had received and the wonderful way he handled helping my elderly dog cross the rainbow bridge two years ago, I can't continue with this practice. I feel as though the ball was dropped in a big way. My last appointment with my big baby felt rushed and I only saw Dr. Dennis for two seconds. I feel as though if they just took a little more time and checked the standard things, this all could have been avoided. Additionally, I'm more than a little irritated that more time wasn't taken with my dogs' mouths... especially with my 15 year old Chihuahua. They may just be animals but to some, like myself, they are family. read more

If you don't work, have plenty of time, with nothing else to do; this is the vet for you. This office as no respect for time. They book several appointments on top of each other. Today there were 15 folks all waiting for their 10 am appointments to see one vet. Ridiculous! This has been an ongoing issue. Several friends no longer use this vet because of this reason. Maybe it's time to follow suit. read more

Dr. Dennis and his staff are the best. They are so friendly, accomdating, and reasonably priced that I make the drive to their office from the city whenever my fur baby needs to be seen by a vet. All of the staff know it's me when I'm calling and they know all about my pup. Both of my parents and all of my extended family in Conyers take their pets here and we wouldn't have it any other way. The office is nothing too glamorous but Dr. Dennis puts his life into his practice and his dedication really shows. It's so much better than most of the vet offices I have visited in Atlanta and it's definitely worth the drive. read more

After visiting a couple of vets that I was dissatisfied with, I needed to find a place where I felt comfortable taking my pet. The few reviews online about Dr. Dennis and his staff were satisfactory and I thought I'd give him a try. And as Liz G has said, he and his staff are the best. They are compassionate when taking care of your pet and are very personal in the matters at hand. They were thorough in explaining any issues that my pet was facing and thorough in explaining how to treat it. I also never felt pressured to do anything I did not want to do. Since my first review, my elderly, cancer-stricken dog Archie had the good fortune of receiving wonderful care from Dr. Dennis. Dr. Dennis helped Archie to live a good quality of life for another year. When it was ultimately time to euthanize Archie, Dr. Dennis was so gentle and compassionate with him. I am greatly appreciative for the kindness he showed towards Archie and me. Dr. Dennis is a highly experienced, knowledgeable, talented, and kind vet, and my pets are very fortunate to benefit from his expertise. I also recently discovered that in addition to cats and dogs, Dr. Dennis also treats large animals in his practice and is available by appointments to make house calls for large animals/ agricultural such as horses, cows, goats, pigs, etc. read more

Dr. Dennis has been our vet for close to 20 years. He's seen us through many trials with dogs, cats, rescues and even a bunny. If your pet needs a special operation he's your man. His fees in that regard (operation/hospitalization)are the most reasonable in town. He's very gentle and obviously really cares about animals. He sees all kinds..large and small. read more

Dr Dennis and his staff are great. My wife and I drive about 50 miles one way to see him and his staff. Dr Dennis has very good prices and in my opinion the man love animals and what he is doing, you cant get much better than that.They know it's me on the phone and do there best to get me in if there is a problem and has even stayed and hour or so late just to help one of my dogs. Can't say enough good things about these guys, also do a great job with my Cane Corso's ears, one of the best. read more
