This has been our go to liquor store since they first opened. Looks like we will now be taking our business elsewhere. I will preface this by saying we understand how stressful things get by late summer, but it shouldn't preclude simple courtesy. At a time when it wasn't that busy, my wife (who had recently had surgery and could use a little help) asked nicely for some help with 20 lbs of ice and if they could put a case of wine in her car for her. She was told in rather unfriendly terms, by the owner no less, that they "could not provide the service you require" and "maybe she should come back in 2022". Well, how about we come back never since common courtesy and basic customer service is now such a challenge. Would also note that this is not the first time we have had a service issue there and we have heard of others being treated with discourtesy this year. read more

This store is rude and treats young adult female customers with disrespect. Our daughter who is almost 25 and had two forms of ID was rudely turned away and told she was not allowed to purchase any beer. They alleged she might have faked her ID. The best liquor store on the island by far. Super location near the airport is particularly great for up-islanders, but even if I lived in OB or Edgartown, I'd come buy my wine here. There's plenty of parking, which is hard to find in the summer months, and they are open year round. The staff is so nice and have always been helpful. They have a very large assortment of alcohol (the space is huge and very clean) and also sell some cheese, which I have not tried. Every now and then they have wine tastings. Really pleasant place to shop. In fact, I think I'll head over there now. A cold glass of white wine sounds just perfect. read more

If you want to experience the worst example of customer service, towards long-time Vineyarders, go here. After purchasing ~$1700 in wine and liquor, from MV Wine and Spirits, upon their recommendation for a summer gathering, we attempted to return ~25% of the amount purchased as it was too much and wound up being untouched. First, we were told by Brian Older (Younger), that it would be for store credit only. Then after a polite conversation, and going to the store, charged a 30% restocking fee and were told "we don't rent booze." I asked if he could show me that policy somewhere, and the response was "industry standard, and you never asked." We were then told, "If you don't like it take us to court." Lastly, having been told that we could return unopened material, upon arrival we were told "No beer. Just wine." All in all, it is sad that a new wine store (2013) would demonstrate this level of customer service or unwillingness to satisfy all parties. We were just trying to return unopened items, and recognized there would be a restocking fee of ~8%-10%. Not 30%. Summarily, we had to go to our credit card company and file a refund. We have been going to this store for years, but have never encountered a co-owner with this approach. read more

I don't usually write reviews but this place is truly amazing, so I felt a review was in order! I go to MV Wine & Spirits for all my beverage needs. The staff is always very friendly and they know what they are talking about. They will help you find a perfect pairing for any meal. If you are looking for something they don't have in their store, they will order it special for you. I order my favorite wine (Sauv Blanc Oyster Bay) by the case now because you get a 20% discount.... YES PLEASE!!! My family and friends are so happy we have this store in our area now. Big fan of this place- awesome selection, location and very helpful staff. They are super knowledgeable on wine pairings and have always suggested the right wine. Take out pizza next door + craft beer at MV W&S = perfect Friday night! So glad they are in town!! read more
