The shelves and coolers are a bit chaotic, and they have an interesting(?) sundries side, but the beer and wine selection is robust and extremely fairly priced for its location. Had walked from Oak Bluffs to the East Chop lighthouse and back, and was thirsty. A one-liter Mountain Dew for $3. Most places charge about $2.89 for a 20oz now, so I loved that price. There are plenty of other items here as well, such as meats and wine. We think of Martha Vinyards we think of Black Dog before Our Market. They built a brand based on loyalty and live of a destination. as an employee of Our Market you would think you would be nicer to tourist and local. Horrible attitude lots of shops go elsewhere. read more

How does this place only have a 2-star rating? It's a well-stocked liquor store with a good selection of wine and beer as well. The store also stocks some basics in terms of snacks and dairy products including some good cheeses. The staff, as with many places on the island, can seem curt at times but if you can break through their tough exteriors, they can be friendly and fun. Given their location and hours, this is a great place to go for various needs. read more

Conveniently located right before the hectic night scene of Oak bluff, easy parking. Decent selections of wine and other beverages, From expensive ones over $80 to $6 a bottle as well for wine. But, for other basic foods and snacks in a smallest package possible for a max. profit. This place is definitely recognized as more of an off-license vendor. And, their marked prices are decent, too. However, the clerks at the counter have one hell of attitude, if not aggression. That is the reason they lose one star, otherwise, I would say 3.5-4 star. read more

The our Market store is one of the best places to stock up your home bar. They are pricey like most place on the island but they seem to have everything you may want. They have a huge selection of cold beer in the cases. As far the the staff goes I have never had a problem with any of the counter help but that 's me. Let's face it. Service can be tough sometimes and there are many visitors and locals too that give them a hard time. I have no idea why. I have stood in line and watched a customer chew out one of the cashiers because her credit card was declined twice. After the second try the cashier asked the person if they wanted to try another card and the person started flipping out like it was the cashiers fault. Check out the parking lot here at Our Market, especially at lunch time and right after work. It's a very busy place. (Trucks, Mercedes, bikes and folks on foot- they are all represented.) There's a lot of booze at Our Market; every size, shape and color is here, sometimes on sale. Little carts help if you are shopping for a party and they have baskets, too, if you have a lighter load in mind. Of course, you can be like the regulars and get a couple of nips and a six pack- just throw those nips out with your trash instead of dumping them on the street or on the beach --- please. While their wine selection is very strong (the best on the island) and they have the usual labels for your mojitos, cosmos and Cape Codders, do not come here for any food unless it is a true emergency. In fact, I wonder why they sell food at all as no one is ever down in that part of the store. You may wait in a long line and deal with grumpy staff who really need to smile (grab a nip or two, folks), but you'll be with all kinds of grinning fellow customers all ready to party. Absolutely disgusting service, truly some of the rudest sad people I have encountered. I'm a 31 year old buying red wine (not exactly teenager party drink), and I had a foreign drivers license. sure I get it's not a state ID, they could have just kindly said they can't accept that ID. But instead they YELLED, yes literally YELLED AT ME for not having the right type of ID. Wtf...they must have a very upsetting life to feel that's the best way to handle the situation. I'm thirty, and walked in with a thirty year old friend. We tried to buy a couple bottles of wine, my friend produced her ID, and they refused because I was there. They yelled at us and told me to wait in the car for an hour then my friend could come back. I get it, keep kids from drinking. Worst customer service in America. Bought stale chips, took them back three hours later and the manager argued about a $1.50 credit. Terrible customer service. Went in today (10/6) to purchase three overpriced bottles of mediocre wine. A new employee rang us up and packed our wine away in their standard paper bag. As we walked back to our car, holding the bag to support it at the top and the bottom, the bag ripped open, and one of the wines slipped out and broke. When I went inside to remedy the issue, the three young employees at the front could not help and tried to call the manager who did not show up for another 10-15 minutes later, clearly annoyed. After explaining that the items were poorly packed, she had the audacity to suggest that if we wanted our three bottles of wine packed properly- we should have asked for it. She then, with a clear dismissive attitude, and no intention to remedy the situation, had the gall to state that once you step outside the store, they are not liable. After calmly explaining that because this issue was the result of their poor packing and training of their new employee, they had two options to replace or refund, she dismissively walks away, presumably to return to the 20-minute break I so inconsiderately interrupted, telling me to "just take it." The manager refused to acknowledge the situation or try to resolve this matter calmly and competently. This was a straightforward problem that did not warrant the attitude that I received. read more

Thank you to Our Market for keeping us safe during the pandemic!! We were lined up to get in your store yesterday wearing masks and socially distancing. A young bro behind me wasn't wearing a mask and was barefoot; I told him that it was required to wear a mask in order to enter and he replied that he wasn't going to wear one and that he didn't care. He also complained about the line. I loudly thanked everyone in line for caring about our mutual protection. When I got inside, I mentioned to the greeter that a young man outsider was refusing to wear a mask. As I was approaching the shelf, I turned and saw the bro lifting his t-shirt over his nose and mouth at the door and the greeter told him he needed to wear a mask. The manager called out and said he could provide baby bro with a mask and still he refused. The man walked up to him and said: 'go somewhere else on the island to buy your liquor; you come up here wearing no shoes and no mask? We don't want your business; go somewhere else". This spoiled boy clearly wasn't brought up right but finally got a lesson in consequences with some added and much needed public humiliation. We were elated at the tough stance on civic responsibility; from now on we will make Our Market the only place to shop for our party needs!! Thank you profusely!!! read more

Just had a wedding on the island and was thrilled at how easy and stress free they made the experience considering how busy the store was. I just witnessed an employee, who I think was the store manager, verbally harass and call the police on a young man (clearly over 21) who quietly objected when this guy turned down his legitimate NY state ID. Even though the police sided with the young customer, the employee continued to scream at him and his friends as they drove away. I would not (and will not again) patronize a store where this kind of behavior is permitted by any of their employees. read more

I used to love this place. Came here all the time as a kid and adult as well. Today I had the worst customer service experience of my life when they refused to accept my government issued ID, then when I told them that that sucked the owner chased me out of the store shouting at me and calling me names the whole way. He proceeded to call the police on me and after hearing the story the officer apologized to me and let me leave immediately. As a year round resident of Martha's Vineyard I normally enjoy supporting island businesses and although our market is not my top package store choice, I sometimes shop there because of it's convenient location and decent selection of products. However, recent experiences dealing with some of their rude and unpleasant employees has made me decide I will never shop there again. They are unwilling to be helpful and act annoyed if you ask them simple product questions and they are either over the top when it comes to checking ID's or just don't check at all, which is completely unprofessional for their type of business. Customer service is a very important part of running a store and they should really consider hiring employees that will at least make an attempt at treating paying customers with a slightly better attitude and a little respect. read more

They have gone out of their way many times to find a particular type of wine, vodka or scotch that is not easy to find.
