During our visit, we were told they had closed their former location, and re-located to this more central area of the downtown a short while ago. A new, first time visit for us. The storefront gallery space, though very small in size, presented/offered a quite wide & fine selection of hand crafted arts & crafts -- with everything very nicely arranged and displayed. What especially caught our eyes -- the various hats (especially one we thought Mom would love, but we needed her head to size!!), and sweaters (wool, knitted - different styles, and all so great looking!). We need another look!! And hopefully, that will come with another visit to Hope in the not too distant future!!

It's a rather cute little place, with many offerings to entice a visitor to buy something to take back home as a souvenir of their visit to the area. They have a quite decent selection of non-fiction books: on mostly BC-related topics, and always a selection of the latest covering Sasquatch ("Bigfoot") and related topics -- clothing: a very good selection of high-quality, printed t-shirts and sweatshirts, in sizes ranging from baby to adult, designs and colours, from 'fun' to quite beautiful -- and other gifts and souvenirs: keepsakes, tourist, and other 'stuff & such'. This past week's trip and stay to Harrison Hot Springs saw us come back home with another fine t-shirt (to join others, and books purchased there on past trips). Quality products, friendly service, and always well-worth a stop and browse - we really like Serenity Now!!

So we kept waiting to give it a chance. The owner entered and greeted the couple and proudly stated that he is the owner to them. They were a bit confused, why they needed to know. Then he saw us, no hello no nothing. He suddenly stood Infront of me and just smiled and looked at me. Not saying a word. So weird. I asked if we can order with him and he said yes. The mixer started and we needed to wait until we could hear each other again. The food was good and was nicely presented. Would I return? Probably not...

The shop is an outlet of the main shop, 'The Happy Prospector', located in Agassiz (just off the road coming into Harrison). I suspect it was the wood carvings resembling Halloween pumpkins, neatly arranged outside, that first caught our attention and beckoned us in. But once inside, we were treated to the sights of all sorts of arts, crafts, and "such" (wood, rock, and mineral offerings, art prints and paintings, and other handcrafts), and so enjoyed the friendly help and assistance of a personable 'host', who really made our visit to the shop so worthwhile. We stopped at the main shop on the way home, but were too early, and it had not opened as yet. Will save it for our next trip to the area. In the meantime, we're happy to have found the shop in Harrison, and sure enjoyed checking it out.

We happened upon this one-day event while camping nearby. It was a warm and sunny Saturday so the…read moreperfect day for a festival. Confession: this was my first Bigfoot Festival and, as a closet fan of everything sasquatch, I was sorta excited about it! It turns out the festival was a fundraiser for some improvements to a nearby park, more than an informational or even entertainment-oriented gathering about that mysterious, tall, hairy beast that is said to roam the nearby forests. There were a ton of really cute art booths, many featuring bigfoot-related items, as well as a coloring contest for the kids and a musical stage (although we were there for an hour and never heard a note of live music). There were a few food booths, but the lines were long so we didn't partake. We kept wandering around hoping we'd find a beer garden to help us cool off but, sadly, there wasn't a beer in sight. This might have been the first year for the festival, so maybe they'll make some improvements to make it more fun the next time around. I love a good art fair, but having more squatch-related info/entertainment, some music, and music would have made it worth returning another time.

It pains me to write this review of what used to be one of my favorite stores. And I was a sad as…read moreanyone when I saw they had to close over a year ago due to a fire. And just as happy when they announced they'd found a new space and were planning to reopen. I have to say, having visited there a few times now, I'm pretty disappointed. The new space is still downtown, but a few blocks west of their previous location. Where parking was free at that spot, it's metered at this one. When I think of all the vacant retail spaces in town, many with parking lots or at least free street parking, it leaves me perplexed. And the new space itself is so incredibly small and disjointed. It's separated into multiple, small rooms. Their inventory is but a shadow of its former self. And the prices have gone up. Wayyyy up. Perhaps most perplexing is the complete lack of classroom space, which they'd gone to so much trouble to add in their own space. Combined all of this with semi-surly, N95'd employees and well... to put it simply...I don't see the appeal in returning here anytime soon. For now, I miss the old Ragfinery and hope they turn things around.

I love this store and visit it almost weekly. it's my feel good place to visit…read more The atmosphere is wonderful BUT I have one problem and that's the management. When you are a manager you should know when your busy times are and you should staff accordingly so that your checkout lines move quickly and smoothly. You should have at least 2 managers or shift leaders up front to help with any issues at the registers when you have at least 6 open. You also need to have enough cashiers to move the lines along. when you have only 2 registers open and you have 3-4 people in each line you need to call for another cashier. Your cashiers should be polite and say hello or how's your day going but they should not start an actual conversation that slows down the lines. I have seen many frustrated customers waiting in long lines, I am not the only one. It is important to keep those lines moving quickly so you keep your customers happy. I understand that without scan bars on the products that it is not as quick as a store with them but I believe that the cashiers should be taught to input a bit faster and cutting the conversations down while doing this would help so they can concentrate on the items being imputed. They can be polite (which they all are) but if they would just cut those conversations down it would really help. So to sum it all up I believe either the manager needs retraining or he/she needs to have regular meetings to instruct the cashiers how to help the lines move faster. Staffing during busy times is also very essential, enough at the registers and enough on the floor.

Once I saw the pictures of the store on their website I KNEW i had to go. I was happily overwhelmed at first then just a tiny bit disappointed later. Due to the volume of fabrics they carry, I was hoping to find more Rayon fabric that then one small shelf. When I'm in the area again, I will definitely stop in. We had so much fun just walking around and looking and touching all the fabrics. The owner of the shop was so pleasant to talk to and you could tell she enjoyed what she did. This will definitely be a regular haunt for us no doubt.
