I can't find enough wonderful words to describe Musika Studio, its team of musicians, and its wonderful teachers. We frequently visit the Mesa Verde Plaza, and since my son recently turned four, I stopped by the studio to ask about their age requirements and recommendations for starting his music journey. They offer piano, drums, guitar and singing lessons as their selection of services. Ms. Sauson, the owner, patiently explained the curriculum and starting age, then offered a complimentary trial lesson to ensure it would be a good fit and that he was ready to begin. They have cameras in all rooms, so parents can sit and watch and listen to the lesson. As an educator and speech pathologist, I watched closely to observe how she engaged my child, her behavior management, reward system, and overall demeanor with young children. Needless to say, I was very impressed by her competence and approach. My son responded beautifully to her guidance, redirection, and positive reinforcements. He has been attending consistently since that trial lesson and is doing wonderfully. I've also met her other staff members and teachers, and you can truly sense that these people genuinely love music and love teaching. It's a fantastic, well-priced music studio in Costa Mesa. I highly recommend checking out Musika Studio if you're looking for a great place for music lessons. They also engage with the community through various events, which is always a bonus when supporting a small business that gives back so much. read more

This review is for SAOUSAN JARJOUR, who is the studio owner/teacher (who was my daughter's Treble Choir teacher). Beware of her fake smiles and fake nice voice. Judge her for her actions. Most troubling was Saousan was my daughter's Treble Choir teacher, but she showed zero regards and zero respect for her own student! I am deeply disappointed and upset with the way you handled yesterday's situations, which I lost all trust and respect for you. You did not honor your offers for the trial lessons, and you made it our fault when your teacher did not have the correct sized violin for my daughter. YOU WASTED ALL OF OUR TIMES. It was clear my son's trial classes for drums and guitar were not communicated to Andrew, as Andrew told us he was only scheduled for only one instrument for 30-minutes. While he enjoyed his time with Andrew, my son was sad that he felt rushed for the time having to do 2 instruments in the 30-minute slot, while knowing that his sister received a full 30-minute trial piano lesson, and was also scheduled for another full 30-minutes for trial violin lesson. Only when I asked you about this that you said that we had to pay if we wanted the trial lessons to be longer, which you never communicated in all of our emails exchanges prior. It was clear you made many excuses and you changed the rules whenever it suited you when you could've just taken responsibility for your mistakes. For my daughter's violin trial lesson, Erin told me that she didn't have the correct violin size for my daughter's trial lesson. Then you made it be our fault when you told me that we needed to bring own violin to trial class. Through all of our communication exchanges in writing/emails over 2 weeks, not once did you mention that we were required to bring a violin for her trial class. If you had told us, we would have gladly gotten it for her for her trial. It is beyond absurd for you to even expect any families to bring instruments their child has never played to a trial class, especially not letting them know they had to ahead of time. So my daughter was sad as well as the trial class she had been looking forward to was cancelled. Even through all of this, I still thought of giving you another chance when I told you that I'd like to reschedule the violin trial lesson, but that thought was short lived when you did not to let us leave your studio. You acknowledged that I was upset (because how else was I supposed to feel being treated this way? Certainly not with smiles and gratitude) and I told you I'd call you so my daughter did not have to endure this mess. The mess that you created by not honoring your words for the trial lessons, and for not taking responsibility for not having the correct sized violin. What was most egregious and made us decide never to come back, is when I told you about these issues in passing, and that I would call you at a later time, but you refused to listen, chased us outside your studio leaving your own student, who had private piano lesson WITH YOU at the time (on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 4:30pm) in your piano room alone. I would hate to be that child's parent who paid you for their child's private lesson with you because he did not receive the full time for his lesson because you felt entitled to continue to lie to us. You made all of this about yourself and with your long list of excuses. I was clear in that I did not want to discuss things with my daughter next to me, but you refused to have any consideration for her, or listen to my request as the parent/client. Then you further disrespected us with by patronizing us as if money was an issue regarding the violin. It was never about money, it was about wasting my son's time, my daughter time, and our whole family's time. These sequence of events were truly appalling. Learn to listen to your clients. Honor your words. Know that some conversations should be had between adults, without your students around. You owe ALL of the families to whom you serve and their children - YOUR STUDENTS - their time and respect. By your actions of entitlement, you also did a disservice to your own team of teachers, with whom my children would have loved to work with but we refuse to support you and your business. In the parking lot, you begged us for a second chance, but there is absolutely no way that we could trust you to be around and teach our children ever again. Your begging for another chance showed us that you only cared about the money you suddenly realized that you lost. You should've done the math before you offer trial lessons that you won't honor. You should do better, as a person and a professional. read more

Her ability to meet each child exactly where they are and help them grow with confidence and joy is remarkable. This is one of the very few extracurricular activities my kids are genuinely disappointed to miss when life gets in the way, which says everything. Musika is a great studio! The studio and Ms. Saousan are always very professional, kind, and very accommodating to everyone's schedule! The communication is clear with emails and reminders. They have also worked with me several times as our schedule has changed due to other commitments that come up and we have had no issues making up or rescheduling times. My daughter has certainly made progress in her voice lessons since she started (maybe a year and a half to two years now). Ms. Melody has done a great job in educating her, challenging her and increasing her confidence! You can tell she really takes an interest and cares for her students! My daughter now does voice and started piano and always looks forward to her weekly lessons. Her instructor has been such a great mentor for her and has helped my daughter progress her singing capabilities in specific theatre roles. The instructors make the children feel comfortable and help them celebrate small successes. It is important to find a teacher whose style works best with your child as every child is and learns differently. So you may need to experiment a little in the beginning. I appreciate the instructor feedback at the end of the session along with what the child should be practicing at home. The recitals are also a wonderful way for parents to see the progress and for the child to exhibit their skills! The only suggested improvement I would have is to have an online platform/app to be able to cancel & reschedule via self service rather than calling/emailing the studio (when needed). But that's not a game changer at all! I can't say enough great things about Musika! We've recommended this place to so many folks. I am so happy to have found this gem! As a parent, I was super picky when choosing a music teacher for my preschoolers. After all, this was going to be the beginning of a life-long journey for them. I needed to make sure we started off on the right foot. Musika Studio is exactly what I was looking for! Ms. Saousan is both warm and cheerful. Her smile would brighten up any room and she was so good with my twins. I admittedly know next to nothing about music learning. I had visions of tearful, mundane practices, and power struggles full of threats and bribes. Well let me tell you, nothing could be further from the truth. After seeing the gentle way she is able to corral their wandering minds and encourage them, I knew she was the right teacher for my kids. She takes the time and talks to all the families that are in the waiting area, she makes the studio feel like family. Paying tuition was very easy, she gives many options on how to pay and gives reminders that are very much appreciated. My son started with Miss EG in studio and from the first session, my son couldn't wait to come back. He couldn't stop talking about how much he learned and the fun games that he got to play while learning music. Due to covid, we had to start Zoom classes. Including my child, there are 4 kids in the group lesson, and I feel like it is a great size for kids at that age. They meet once a week for 45 minutes. Superior vocal trainingI! I was referred to Saouson Jarjour, artistic director & owner of Musika Studio, by a prestigious faculty member of CSUF's department of music. From the moment I met Saouson with her beautiful beaming smile & welcoming warmth, I knew I was about to embark on a much awaited musical journey. From the time I was a child I sang in choirs, acapella groups & have performed in numerous musical theater productions. But in all that time I never received correct training of how to use my voice to its fullest potential. I have nothing but great things to say regarding the professionalism and skill level of the owner Saousan and what she is doing with this studio. My daughter started taking piano lessons with her when she was four. I wasn't sure if she would be able to retain any of the info because she is a very energetic child who is easily distracted. Saousan spent time getting to know my daughter's personality and what teaching methods she responded to best. It is because of her my daughter loves to play the piano. She is now 6 years old and plays and reads music on her own. At the time we started lessons my daughter had a keyboard and was the only child. As time went on we moved further away plus baby number two came along. It became more difficult to attend lessons. My husband and I reluctantly thought putting lessons on hold would be the best idea. As I cried and explained to Saousan our situation she was so supportive and offered to visit our house instead. I saw how much faith and dedication she had for my little girl and it touched my heart to see that. She also helped us find a very affordable piano so Mia could learn piano on real keys. She went out of her way to help us and I appreciate her so much for that. Mia just had her first piano recital with several other student who attend Musika Studio and it was amazing to see her proudly perform three pieces. Stumbled upon this super cute studio as I was finishing dinner at a neighboring restaurant. I've been wanting to get my children into a formal music class but hesitated as I haven't found a teacher who could meet our needs for both kids at the same studio...and my husband has the highest standards as he is classically trained in violin. So, I stopped in to ask some questions. Sausan was immediately warm, professional and inquisitive. She said she could accomodate our two year old AND our six year old, even offered free trial classes (I mean c'mon...who says no to that?) After the trial classes, I KNEW this was the studio for us. My son has had one month worth of lessons prior to attending Musika Studio, but it didn't work out due to my son's lack of engagement, focus, and motivation. From an elementary school teacher's perspective, I want to share with you why we chose Musika Studio for our son. Location. Location. Location... and Parking matters! Musika Studio is located near Harbor Blvd and Mesa Verde Dr. in a community shopping plaza. The school is very accessible if you live in Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Fountain Valley, or Santa Ana. I've never had any problems finding parking when arriving right in time for his scheduled piano lesson. Differentiated music classes based on the needs of the students. Miss Saousan is an amazing music teacher who is not only well trained in voice and piano, but also in early childhood development. What's striking is that she is genuinely kindhearted, and I immediately noticed this when I had the opportunity to observe her teaching my son (who is a typical 6-year-old boy) during the free trial lesson. I knew right away that she's a perfect match for him. My son is very active and has a short attention span (sometimes a little strong-willed), but she gets him. She uses different hands-on strategies to maintain his focus and engagement. She breaks the 30 minute lesson up into fun and interactive games on the rug when learning music theory. She always sets clear expectations on the whiteboard in the room and my son checks each box as he completes them. She praises him verbally as well as rewards him with cool stickers. My son tells me that he especially loves her beautiful voice. She's a professionally trained opera singer, so yes, her voice is very delightful to listen to when I record his homework lessons for the week to practice at home. Furthermore, after reading her bio on the website, I learned that she specializes in children with special needs or learning differences, such as autism. She embraces my son's qualities and modifies her lessons as needed to meet his needs. I really appreciate her efforts to maximize his learning within the short 30 minutes of class. Recitals are the sweetest! My son experienced his first piano recital this past Christmas Holiday, 2018. It was held at a Presbyterian Church on Fairview in Costa Mesa, which is conveniently located down the street from where we live. After 30 min a day/per week and for about three months, he was able to play "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," and he is able to site read. Participating in a solo recital has challenged my son to be more focused, gain confidence, and overcome his fears. It is by far the best discipline for him. ALL students who performed in the recital just blew me away! I especially thought that Eric, the guitar teacher, did a phenomenal job with his students! I especially appreciated how she reserved the first pew for parents to record and take pictures of their child(ren) when they were performing. That was very thoughtful! Overall, the recital was very organized, the students' talents reflected their teacher's passion, and the parents brought refreshments to share after. I can't wait until their spring recital! Professional and friendly staff is a BONUS! I absolutely love Alma, Musika Studio's receptionist! She is very professional, sweet, and she is ready to answer my questions or make accommodations for my family in a heartbeat. I used to do choir in high school and I loved it but never really developed my voice to where I felt confident singing in front of people, even after college where I studied theatre. I have been attending Musika Studios for only a short while (since May) but in that time I already feel way more confident in my voice and in working on all the trouble notes.
