They rent to own the clarinet which is so nice because you get to own the instrument after 3 years with no interest on it. It also comes with a maintenance plan which is so assuring. The knowledge that the owner AND staff provide is invaluable. They care more about you being satisfied and happy with a product that fits your needs and ability versus just trying to sell product. This business is Veteran Owned and pricing is so reasonable that its usually at most only a couple dollars more than Amazon or some online shop but comes with the assistance of people who know their products and can recommend products with their own experience and you in mind. I personally felt that the plethora of knowledge, supporting a Veteran owned local business was worth the difference in pricing. My son's sound quality in playing has a noticeable difference and we are grateful.

I came to Valdosta on a social visit with my girlfriend. This place doesn't specialize in guitars (they have drums, pianos, basses, etc.) but they have a decently sized selection of guitars. Pat Rutland, the owner, talked with me for almost two hours about guitars. The man knows his stuff. He came off a bit pretentious at first. However, later in out conversation it became apparent to me that he is just trying to spread his knowledge on the subject. Mr. Rutland knows a great deal about the technical aspects of guitar building and was eager to answer any questions I had about guitars. Friendly service, but the prices were slightly higher than I was used to. This is to be expected from a nonchain, though, so I'm happy with my experience.

He paid attention to what my daughter needed and explained everything in detail, providing suggestions for her. He picked up her guitar and played some superb fast finger work! As testimony to his passion, before we left, he was excited to show us an 80s Les Paul Deluxe that he just bought for himself. It was sharp! It was less of a shopping experience and more just "hanging out" with Andrew. This is called a music center, but they are a guitar shop. I didn't see any other instruments inside. They are a cozy shop located on Hwy80 on the "old" side of Pooler. Downbeat Music Center is an orange amp dealer. Andrew is really excited about them, and proud to be be a dealer. They have instructors that offer guitar lessons. He said he has honed into a set of high quality instructors. We came in for a new set of strings on my daughter's acoustic guitar. Andrew strung them, cleaned the guitar and straightened the neck for us...all while we waited. I am not a guitar person so this level of service was perfect to help keep my daughter's guitar in tip-top shape. The work-while-you-wait strategy is dangerous as we walked out with a new (used) electric guitar. My daughter just fell in love with it! They have a good selection of both new and used guitars. The main room you enter is filled with electric guitars. The back room is filled with their acoustic guitars. I'd highly recommend this place if you are looking for a a guitar shop. They provide friendly, expert service. This isn't just a job, they are serving you because of their passion for guitars.
