RMC is and has been a foundational part of Ramona's history and culture since I was a child. Jon has continued that tradition and offers instruments, lessons and repairs for all of Ramona, but other communities as well. Jon runs the store, but also has to step in when other instructors can't teach, when an employee is sick or out or the repair's person is out. The fact that he can manage all that while teaching his own lessons and doing late night recording sessions is an outstanding testament of his work ethic and dedication to the Ramona music community. We have had both kids in lessons with Jon - violin and guitar and I am in awe of his energy and positivity when he's teaching. My kids can't wait for their time with Jon and look forward to it every week. My husband is also a musician and has had to bring in instruments for repair and also needs last minute strings, etc. and RMC always has what he needs in a jam. It breaks my heart that people are so quick to give a terrible review. I realize it's easier to vent from behind a computer screen, but reaching out and giving them a chance to fix an issue before leaving a scathing review would be much more productive and gracious...and allow for human error. Sure, it's their right but I always find myself thinking, "If I owned a store, I'd be happy to open for those early bird customers!" Well, turns out Ozzies did just that for me this week and I appreciate it! I was a full half hour early and actually expected to have to come back when I realized their hours. Tristan was just coming into the store with his keys and invited me in while he looked to see if he had the product I wanted. I stood at the door, thinking he was just going to tell me yes or no, and then I'd still have to come later to buy what I needed. Nope, he found my item and then rang it up for me. Tristan, you rock!!!! Truth is, I've been using this store since long ago when I taught piano lessons, and then taught elementary school music and then had my own three kids taking a variety of lessons. We've rented instruments from Ozzies, taken lessons in the studio, and purchased all manner of music and accessories for whatever instrument has been being learned in our household. Through all these years and all these dealings, I've always found the people in the store to be knowledgeable and efficient. Now that my kids are grown, I'm retired, and I live in another state most of the year, I haven't had as much need for Ozzies...that is, until I took on a few short term piano students this summer. Call this wierd. However, no good deed goes unyelped in my book…read more I called APEX to ask about a certain piece of audio equipment: if they sold, what brands ect. Mainly, just to get some info before driving over, and double check the hours. 10 minutes before opening, on the phone, the dreaded answer "we don't carry those.". However, over the next 25 minutes, an explanation of who does, where they are, what to expect for the particular piece of equipment, things to consider, the insight of the employee. And, they do rent the equipment. With a fair warning, that they might sell the rental equipement, but since the particluar piece is industrial and well maintained, it'd probably go for MORE than normal places. And it'd be subject to the bosses approval. You have to wish more places would be open, honest, helpful and provide answers to the quality and extent that this place does. A stand up place to do buisness, if there ever was a definition of it. Clearly a tribute to it's many years of existance!

He made this an experience to remember, and when I had questions he answered every one of them non-pretentiously, and with enthusiasm. Though, it did take a while since he seemed to be the only one working and he was helping about five other customers, too. But, he attended to every one of us. If I were to go anywhere for any music needs, or even questions, I would definitely come here. No hesitation at all. The customer service is some of the best I've ever received, anywhere. Not only is he very kind, he's incredibly knowledgable and gives you all the time you need. The store is well-stocked, and will most likely have what you're looking for, too.
