We were pretty lost in the planning process before talking to David, and he was the first vendor that we hired that sat down and actually talked through the process of planning a wedding with us. He is extremely thorough and has been doing this for so long that he knows exactly what questions to ask and what to prepare for. On the day of the wedding David and his bartenders were there early and rocking to get things set up without needing direction or help from us. First of all, I'm writing this review right after returning from a Sacramento Bridal Show because I want to warn everyone while it's still fresh in my mind. "David", who didn't even tell me his name, proceeded to grill me on my event details before I could even get out the "hello, my name is..." I mentioned that my wedding would be held at the Old Sugar Mill. They held a beautiful bridal event there and apparently he was there, since he rudely asked why I didn't take the time to come see his booth. I could kind of tell where the convo was going, so I'm trying to humor his lack of people skills by saying that I didn't need a DJ. After pushing me to give the name of my DJ, he begin to insult me for making a choice without asking a battery of questions that he has listing on this brochure. All of this was happening in a matter of minutes - not one mention of what services he provides or the cost. Upon hearing I already had a DJ, he say "well then, I'll talk with her!", referring to my sister next to me, who is also getting married this year. Basically, you have a DJ, I have no need to speak with you anymore kinda vibe. I'm a very no frills, unassuming person, but this experience was insulting. I told my sister that I would meet her at the end of the room by the invitation booth, and this man proceeds to say as I walk away, "Oh, she's gonna just walk way?" Wow. Heckling me for choosing to leave a conversation that was making me extremely unconfortable. This is purely a review based on first impression at a Bridal Show. I have not used his services, however, after this run in I would have to pass. read more

We are so happy that David was recommended to us ! We used both his DJ and bar service for our wedding. He is an awesome MC and I love that he helped us come up with fun introductions for our wedding party that we have never seen done at a wedding before, everyone loved it! To start, it's important to note, as a couple, we've both given many creative presentations to audiences of all walks of life as a tenured university professor and bible teacher. As such we feel we know how to captivate the attention of a large audience. Dave's contributions to our wedding reception were probably THE most uplifting, fun and memorable additions we could have made not only for us, but also our guests. We hired an outside caterer, but served as our own wedding coordinator (best man and made of honor) for our wedding of over 75 guests. Our wedding was on 8/8/21 in North Lake Tahoe at a nice indoor church venue sanctuary. The reception was outdoors on a deck filled to capacity. Other family and friends decided to spend thousands on a photographer with less emphasis on their music and or master of ceremonies (MC) for their weddings that we had experienced in years past. For our wedding we wanted to make sure: a) our dance floor and reception events were lively and b) that we did not have to serve as the MC of our wedding. Dave served as our wedding MC and did not disappoint. He was fantastic! He knew how to take lead weeks prior to the event and all the way up to wedding day with setup to make our wedding reception outstanding. He has an enviable sense of humor that reaches people of all ages regardless of their background. His approach for how to provide our wedding with memories that will last a lifetime is something we have not experienced after being in and or attending over a dozen large weddings in our lives. You truly have to experience his approach being your MC to understand it. Selected examples of how his innovative style made our wedding reception so fun included: 1) introductions of our wedding party of 12 with a unique photo for each coupled with selected audio voice overs, which was a real hit! 2) A bringing back the years segment with photos of us (groom and bride, separately from birth to the present) set to music, also very well received and 3) his ability to create an inclusive fun loving environment for all ages, made our big day one we'll never forget with so many smiles and laughter to remember for years to come. We're so grateful we contracted out with Dave to be our MC. It truly took our wedding to the next level versus so many others we've attended in terms of the events for the reception. In fact, several older seasoned guests (who attended many weddings in their lives) said ours was THE best wedding they've ever attended. We credit Dave with helping make this happen. Just meet with him for a brief consult at least 1-2 months before your event and you can get a sense of how to take your wedding to the next level in terms of humor, fun and cherished memories that will last a lifetime. David is the BEST!!! We just had our wedding in the mountains of Tahoe this July, and it couldn't have been better. At first I was skeptical about paying for/hiring a dj. Why do that when you could just throw an Ipod with a playlist on, with a relative monitoring it?!...I will tell you why!.....David not only kept the music perfectly going for each moment, he also threw in some fun things to keep the party going (like a line dance, funny songs, having each married couple stand up to show us how to kiss properly and then we had to imitate them, etc). He also did a picture show to music for us. The best part of what david did though, was to keep the whole thing organized from start to finish. He announced when to eat, when to dance, when to take more pictures, when to cut the cake, last call, last dance and exit. He was constantly talking to me and my husband to make sure we knew what was next and it just made everything so worry-free for us. Not only do I recommend hiring a DJ, BUT HIRE DAVID!!!!!! David was the DJ at my wedding and he was incredibly professional about the whole thing. We had the wedding in my parents' back yard and he made several trips out to our house, which was not terribly near his own, in order to scope the place out and give us ideas on how things could work. He has a lot of experience with weddings, so he had lots of suggestions about different things we could do to make our wedding more special. He had a lot of ideas that really got our creative juices flowing too. After talking to him, our wedding felt like it was starting to take shape. He was really proactive about getting things planned out and organized. If you want to make sure your wedding goes well, he will take it just as seriously as you do. I really liked how many different things David was willing to do. He had a whole bunch of extra lighting options, for instance. He offers some lighting as a complimentary with his DJing package (an essential since my wedding was outside in the evening). Everyone was able to see and had a really good time. He also offered to be the MC for the party and make sure that everything was organized and that everyone was getting things done without bothering us. He really goes above and beyond. And of course, he wouldn't be much of a DJ if he wasn't good with the music. I had friends come up to me and ask for the soundtrack to the wedding they enjoyed the music so much. He asked for a few of our favorite artists, and with that information, he put together a whole bunch of songs that I had and hadn't heard before, almost all of which my guests and I really liked. Music was going throughout the entire reception (not just the dancing) and it really enhanced the whole thing. He was also good at getting the crowd involved and making sure the dance floor was never empty. He also added some creative surprises for us that really spiced up the reception. Sometimes planning an event can take out all the surprises, but he kept a few in store to keep the party spontaneous even for us. If you need to make absolutely sure an event goes well, Music in Motion is a great choice for a DJ. read more

I gave David a lot of pictures of Andy with Family and Friends and he did the rest. He created a beautiful presentation that cycled the entire night. I hired David to provide music and bar service at my sorority's fundraising event and weren't expecting anything too special, just a normal DJ. David went over the top and exceeded our expectations! He met with us several times before the event to make sure we were getting everything we wanted for our event. I entered a contest, nominating my grandparents for an anniversary celebration being put on by The Falls Event Center in Roseville. We were selected and I have nothing but good things to say about them and all of the vendors who contributed in making my grandparents' 70th Wedding Anniversary a successful and memorable evening. I was given David's information from Cathi at the Falls and he was immeasurably helpful in directing me to wineries and breweries to supply beverages for the event. David volunteered his time to tend bar for my event and deserves far more than what he was compensated with that night. My immediate family is not big into drinking and David was able to gently push me in the right direction for pairings for the meal we had planned as well as guidance on quantities to purchase (which we definitely overbought, but we were new to this kind of event hosting and were not entirely familiar with our guests' preferences). He was so approachable and pleasant to visit with during setup and incredibly helpful through the evening even though I made some decisions on the fly regarding our toast. Me being unprepared was not an issue for him -- or at the very least, he does not let it show. He keeps his cool, collected, life-of-the-party demeanor the entire time. I hope we are able to work together again in the future, but this time I will be more prepared ahead of time!
