I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Music Depot. We rent to own my daughter's violin there. Not only is the staff knowledgeable, but they are the friendliest group of people you'd ever want to do business with. My daughter was fit for her violin there, we've had repairs done there, a loaner violin checked out for a period of time, purchased items needed for music lessons over the years, and multiple times when I needed specific paperwork for homeschooling needs the staff went above and beyond to help me gather it. All of our experiences have left us smiling and thankful that this little shop is in our town. Expertise and friendliness is a rare combination in retail nowdays, but Music Depot has both. read more

I just bought a new guitar from Music Depot. I am a newbie and the staff was incredibly helpful. After telling the guys what i was looking for and explaining my total lack of ability, they pulled out several choices for me to look at. I sat and strummed the only 2 chords I know over and over on each one asking questions all the time. They were patient, explaining the pros and cons of each model even pointing out those that may be most beneficial to me for what I was looking for. We had a lot of laughs and I walked out of there with a guitar that i am extremely happy with. read more

Do not bring your instruments to this music store. After bringing my electric guitar in for a simple re-string and setup, I waited a month and a half; and upon finally bringing my guitar home, the internal wiring had been messed with and disconnected (ripped from where they were sauttered in place). There were not prior issues with the wiring, and unfortunately it appears to have been done on purpose. I cannot fathom how a business is run like this, skip this "music store" and go anywhere else. read more

Staff was personable and helpful. The Luthier/Guitar tech did a fine job setting up my Washburn Parallaxe guitar and was knowledgeable.

Unfortunately after giving this shop multiple opportunities, I have been disappointed every single time. This most recent visit I left my electric guitar to be re-string and set up. I was quoted 1 week, after 3 weeks I called the shop and they hadn't even started my guitar (it seemed like they had forgotten it was there?). After promising it would be done in a few days time, I waited another week and a half before they called me and told me it was done. Upon arriving (already annoyed) I was charged $20 more dollars than I was quoted initially, for no reason that I could fathom. After about $80 spent on a re-string, I get home to realize it hadn't even been set up correctly. The string action was WAY too low, and all the strings appeared to be set at varying and random heights. I would not recommend this shop for anything unless you want to wait at least a month for repeats, and you want to pay for something you didn't even get. There are better options, don't go here just because it's close by. read more

Stopped in to Music Depot yesterday to buy a set of strings and inquire about an adjustment to a bass guitar. I called ahead with a couple of quick questions, and Jake answered. He gave me insightful, clear, and sensible responses, so I already felt good when I first walked in the door. I then had the great pleasure of meeting and talking with Jake and Jess, another very nice guy who stood with us at the counter for a minute. I took a quick stroll around the place, and I saw some very impressive, reasonably priced guitars and other instruments. As is often the case, music types like us easily found things to talk about. So I spent a few minutes chatting with Jake about guitars, music, and the like. He was not only thoroughly professional, but approachable, friendly, and very amiable. I like finding reasonable prices and interesting, quality merchandise, and I *love* finding these things while in the temporary company of fine folks like Jake and Jess. I will definitely be bringing that bass in for an adjustment, and I have no desire to find another music shop in the area. I've already found the best. read more

I had a problem with the way my flute was working and a performance the next day, so I went to Music Depot. They were extremely helpful, and the instrument repair technician was extremely knowledgeable about instruments. She was able to fix my flute extremely fast and now it works perfectly again! read more

Well, I have to say, music depot has cornered the market in instrument rental in Greeley. However, or maybe because of this fact, they do not stand behind their products & charge you every chance they get! The actual rental fee is very reasonable ($18/month) but as the trumpet was being used by a 12 year old in middle school, you would think MD would account for this and expect that they are going to be issues cropping up from time to time with an instrument being played by a pre-teen who has never played before. Nope! Whenever a valve got stuck, they acted like we were felons and charged us quite a lot to fix. I brought it in Twice in a month period & both times they insisted that me/my son had put pencils or screwdrivers into they valve when neither of us did that! As soon as the trumpet valve was stuck, my son quit playing, told the teacher, then we brought it in for repair. I'm just very disappointed in the attitude of MD and their nickel & diming tactics for children who are trying to learn to play an instrument. By the end of the school year, my son was actually afraid to play the rented trumpet, for fear he would be accused of breaking it when the valve got stuck once again. Thank goodness he is my youngest & we are done with band! Even if we were not done, I would not rent from music depot again. read more

Worst instrument repair shop in Northern Colorado. I have had my Trombone serviced at this shop a total of 4 times; first time was for a simple re-soddering of an F-attchment which took them 2 weeks to complete. After getting my trombone back, there was gunk splattered all over the bell. 2nd time was for another soddering, which came unsoddered after 1 week. 3rd time, taking it back (because they didn't sodder correctly) they did not offer any discount for fixing their own mistake. 4th time I gave them one last chance to replace a part on my trombone. The store held on to my trombone for 2 months waiting to attach the part because they had forgotten to order the part for the first 2 weeks that they held on to my trombone. Once the part finally came in and was attached, they forgot to call me to tell me the trombone was ready. The only reason I knew it was ready was because I happened to stop by to check on the progress. If this store was the last music repair shop in the world, you are better off trying to fix it yourself. read more

This place, at first appearance, looks like a local friendly music shop. I went here looking for something very specific and a friend told me this place would probably have it. I went here thinking that, based on almost every other music shop Ive been to in my life, they would be friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, Neither of those words can be used to describe at least one late 40's- early 50's employee that works there. After first walking in, i looked around and saw a great selection of quality products. But once i went to the counter, all positives stopped. When I asked if they carried the specific item i was looking for, the man behind the counter smirked and replied "what do you think that does?" I was instantly offended. I did not answer his rude question, instead telling him what i was planning on using it for. After several eye rolls from him he located what i was looking for. I ended up buying it there but i will never return to this music store. Absolutely terrible service, and to me, this is probably the most important aspect of a business. Honestly, anyone with serious musical equipment needs would be better suited driving to Spotlight Music in Fort Collins, or even Guitar Center. Great selection, and a great staff that will help you with almost anything at both of these places. read more
