I have always admired the cello and really wanted to learn. I was unsure of how difficult this would be not knowing how to read notes and possibly not having enough time to practice. This is where Carli comes in - she is a godsend. Carli is extremely patient and focuses a lot on technique, which I really appreciate. I also like that she focuses on nailing down the basics - the bow hold, shifting and scales so you have all the tools to play most any song and play it well! She also goes above and beyond and has often gone over the lesson time to make sure I get things right. Further, she suggested extra material and pointers that I have found very helpful while learning the instrument and techniques. Make no mistake, the cello is a difficult instrument to learn and master but Carli makes this process easy. In addition to her incredible skills as a cello instructor, she is very accommodating with her time. This is important for me since my schedule tends to change a lot and she has always been flexible. I highly recommend Carli as a cello instructor for people of all ages. She is an extremely gifted teacher and a wonderful person to boot!

However, I enjoyed learning from Carli right from the start. Learning from her felt comfortable and she provided a good balance between pushing me to go further in technique, musical knowledge and overall playing ability and just enjoying playing music. I definitely recommend her for both adults and children that want to learn how to play cello and improve their musical ability.

I'm really happy with my purchase, it was a great value, and it feels even better knowing I took the time to try different instruments before deciding. The staff has been incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. I never felt pressured to buy something, and they were happy to answer my questions and let me take my time figuring out what felt right. That made a huge difference as someone who wanted to make sure I was choosing an instrument I would actually enjoy playing. One thing I really appreciate is that you can use one of their practice rooms to try out instruments. If you're serious about buying, being able to actually sit down and play before committing is such a nice option. Great people, helpful service. One specific comment we received from her teacher was that it is difficult to find good quality scale-intruments like this one ( "scaled" meaning not full size). , I'm a semi-professional jazz guitarist, and though I violins aren't my expertise, I would say that this instrument has terrific, warm tone and the quality of the workmanship appears to be excellent. The violin holds it's tuning well and it's very attractive. To me it appears to be the same or better quality than the Carlos Lamberti Sonata that we had prior to this. On top of that, the kit includes a heavy-duty case and some extras, which we never got with past kits. About my daughter, she is 9 years-old and has been playing since she was 4. I would describe her as an intermediate player, Suzuki book 4, an plays in the Sacramento Youth Symphony beginner orchestra. As a mucisian myself, I try to get her an istrument that is equal to or better than her playing; i don't want the instrument to hold her back. FYI, Before going to Kennedy we had been buying and exchcanging instuments with with Shar Music or almost 5 years ( sizes 1/16 to 1/8) up until this violin. I mainly has issues with Shar's service and a recent change in their trade-in policy. Shar has good products, but of Kennedy adds personal touch to their service. I'm sure we will be getting our next one from Kennedy once my daughter grows out of this one.

Seeing your child walk onto a real stage, under real lights, with a full band and an audience cheering them on hits you right in the heart. This was not just kids playing songs. It was confidence. Growth. Courage. You could see how much work they put in and how supported they felt by their instructors and by each other. Watching them perform, handle the crowd, recover from little mistakes, and finish strong was incredibly moving as a parent. School of Rock is a truly great program. It teaches music, but more than that it teaches teamwork, discipline, and how to show up when it matters. You can tell these kids are learning life skills along with guitar riffs and drum fills. Hawthorne Theatre was the perfect venue for this experience. It feels real and authentic, not polished or sterile. Being close to the stage made everything feel personal and immersive. The sound was solid, the flow of the event was smooth, and the whole space felt welcoming to families while still giving the kids a true concert experience. There is something powerful about watching your child perform in a real venue and realizing how much they have grown. We left feeling proud, emotional, and grateful for programs like this that give kids a place to shine. Highly recommend School of Rock and Hawthorne Theatre. This was more than a concert. It was a memory we will carry for a long time.
