How have I not written a review for this place?? I've been here multiple times and have a great time every night. There are a lot of paintings to choose from and they really do make everyone feel confident in themselves to be able to do the painting. If you do a paint your pet night, the stencil they do is fantastic and given gives you shading directions. If you're struggling with anything in particular, they will come over and give you individual assistance. Food options are unexpectedly good and there are a lot of drink options. read more

Brand new place that opened just a week ago. Very spacey inside with exposed brick. Set is nice too with Ezra space in the back for private party or 2 separate groups. Lots of ready made paintings up on he walks already. There is also a wine/beer bar and non alcoholic drinks as well. There's also a menu of small or bigger bites and desserts. Pretty cool. read more

I've been to the paint nite chain before and Muse is 10X better. The instructors actually show you how to blend and paint! Our instructor taught us how to make tiny trees and create shadows on the landscape while we were painting. He also came around and checked in to see how everyone was doing and helped those who had painting mishaps. The extra guidance helped everyone out and all the paintings came out awesome :). The price is the same as other chains but I'm not sure if they offer groupons. Also, they have a small bar! read more

Muse Paintbar is an incredible positive experience! We went on Mother's Day for a "sunset" class and we had zero experience in painting. The environment is cool, they provide everything from supplies and aprons, decent appetizers and options for drinks and the instructor was super helpful and patient. They give you instructions on how to do your painting, enough time and support. Also, If you don't like to follow the class, you can do your own creation. We booked a party at this location 2 months in advanced. There's a party coordinator communicates with you if you have trouble planing the party, selecting pictures, etc.. They ended up gave me a room in the back, with glass wall, which was perfect. The room is equipped with a mini stage for the instructor, two tables for us to paint, and one extra table for us to decorate, and if you need an extra table, they will bring you one as well. The event was great for kids, team and/or large group of people. We had 13 people total and 10 of them were painters, some opted out not to paint, and They were fine with it. We had three hours for the party, we probably spend half of the time chi chatting, eating and pictures taking. And we were able to finish the painting on time. read more

Company has horrible customer service. Closes locations without warning, won't refund unused gift cards but still opens new stores in other states. Ryan Knowles stated company is under federal receivership and books are frozen, and $50.00 is too small for Muse to bother with. I think he's a jerk and the company stinks. read more

I'll be honest it's a little nerve wrecking and stressful since I wanted to have a decent painting at the end of the day. They provide the all the essentials aprons brush etc. wine and beer available and finger foods. They break down the instructions where you can follow along and it's not too slow. This has been one of the best experiences I've ever had for a night out! I came here for the first time on April 27th for the safari giraffe painting. This place has exceeded my expectations! It's such a great activity to do with friends and the best thing about this place is that they sell my favorite wine!! Jelly was our instructor and she was amazing! I attended one of Muse's Paint Your Pet events and had a blast! The artists working there are so helpful and encouraging. When you arrive, they have a sketch of your pet ready for you (you send them a picture in advance). Once the event begins, the artist assigned to your table helps you with each step of the painting, from mixing colors to advising you on what to paint next, etc. After the 3 hour session, I left with an awesome painting of my dog and couldn't wait to get home and hang it up. I'm looking forward to returning and painting another picture of my dog! read more

I love Muse Paintbar and have been there several times. In addition to the landscapes, they offer custom painting nights where you can paint things you have personally taken a picture of. The Assembly Row spot features attentive instructors who go above and beyond to help you with technique and to help you figure out just how to make the color you are looking for. At my last visit, I was painting my cat for Paint Your Pet night, and the instructors helped me mix the right fur colors and showed me some techniques for painting fur texture. There are roving helpers who can assist if you get paint on your clothes (I did) or need to get a bite to eat (I have), which makes this experience definitely the best I have had from a paint night. I went to Muse last night with my fiance and two friends to celebrate my birthday. I am the only artist of the group and was afraid that the others would not enjoy themselves. However, the instructions were broken down very well, allowing everyone to produce a product that looked similar to the sample painting, but each with its own style. The instructor emphasized multiple times that no two paintings would look alike and that it was okay, which I think is really good assurance for first-timers or people who do not feel like they are creative. All instructions were repeated multiple times, so that if you missed it the first or second time, you could hear it on the third or forth time. The instructor and another employee also walked around to help the painters with any questions or guidance. The food is pretty good (we got the sampler platter), though a bit oily for my particular preference (I'm also not a big fan of fried food, so please take this as you will; my fiance likes fried food and thought it tasted great). Also to note, they have a row of coat hooks, so you don't have to worry about getting paint on your jacket. The two small qualms that I had: 1. It does get loud. You can still hear the instructor, who adjusts her volume to be heard, but the volume in the room can get a bit loud. 2. The space is a little small. It's not uncomfortably small, but if the session is full (like ours was) it will be a bit cramped. Overall, this was a very pleasant experience and a lovely birthday. I would definitely go back, and even my fiance (who is more practical than creative) loved it and wants to come back for another night. read more

Chain paint spot where your inner Picasso can take center stage. I came across Muse in the Hingham Shipyard and jumped at the opportunity to visit the Somerville location through a Yelp event. The instructor and the assistant (who was also the bartender for the night) were very nice and instructions on what and how much paint to mix and techniques were clear and helpful. Creativity is encouraged and I saw many adapt their drawings by painting elephants and other additions inspired by the other completed paintings on the wall. The space is divided in two and the main space sat about 30. The second area is a bit smaller but offers opportunity for two types of painting to go on at once. Drinks were limited to beer and wine options. Reasonable prices and different varietals but it seemed like the wine was all the same brand (may have been because of our event). As Sonia pointed out, this would be a fantastic spot for group night out, birthday shenanigans, or any other shindig. Went with a couple of friends one night and the service was really good. The course might go a little fast sometimes but they will provide an amount of time where they help you with anything. You can also ask for more colors and add your own type of creativity in your painting. There's also a mini food/bar for a little snack or drink and the environment is very friendly and looks comfortable. Another good thing is that they put your party all together unlike another paintbar I know. One downside is the placement of the seats, you could end up sitting in a low chair and your canvass is blocking the instructor and you have to stand or you could take a high chair from an empty seat. read more

What a great experience! Never thought I could paint but I guess we all have a little painter hidden somewhere inside us. And for sure french instructor Bruce managed to wake up the inner painter and I made a wonderful painting! I've already been here twice, that's how much I've enjoyed it. It's a relaxing experience where you can wind down with wine and good company. I surprised myself because I didn't consider myself "artistic" at all, but the instructors are so good at walking you through every step and makes it as simple and smooth as possible. The place is very convenient, especially for date nights when you want to grab dinner around there, but maybe want to switch things up from a typical movie night. I would definitely recommend this place, and I will also be returning for more paintings. read more

Had so much fun at muse paint bar. I have no previous painting experience and the instructor Kelly was very patient and informative. She made everything a step by step process which was easy to follow. Walking in there, I was nervous since I know nothing about painting but the energy in there was amazing and my painting came out way better than I thought it would. Made the perfect night! read more
