They have started doing a little better about having outlet options, but mainly at those tall, long skinny tables. The ones that aren't necessarily great for working because they're so high up and can make your legs feel weird after awhile. Haha. The other semi complaint I have is that they close early. 3 pm is early when you want to try and work. Drinks are good. I don't drink a ton of coffee these days, but what I've had there was good. I get either their chai or matcha. Both of those I enjoy! I had a sandwich there recently. I wanted to roll my eyes at the price truthfully. However, when it came.. WOAH. It was GIANT. I was thoroughly impressed. It was really really good. I had to take half of it home and put it in the fridge. When I came back home hours later... it was STILL GOOD. The bread was not soggy either! That's HUGE! Ok so overall, I highly recommend this place and it's one of my go to spots.

I'd still consider going back since they're open fairly late, which I really appreciate. There's a small parking lot next to the shop, which is convenient. Overall, a fun spot for the atmosphere even if the coffee didn't quite hit for me.

Get your hands dirty and develop a new hobby!…read more This art studio and gallery offers 2D printing, painting, drawing and ceramics classes. I've taken the ceramics classes here with a focus on wheel throwing and I love it! Becca is an awesome instructor and allows the class to be free to create, but also helps to steer you in the right direction. I'll be taking the summer class here in May. I've been throwing on the wheel off and on for about 15 years now and the intermediate class offered here is perfect for shaking off the cobwebs. They do offer beginner ceramic classes if you're looking to just dip your toe into the ceramic slip. The classes are about $100 for 8- 12 weeks and the cost includes your clay. For comparison other ceramic classes can start $300! I know I'm about to blow up my own cozy quiet nook of Nashville, but if that means the community discovers and supports this arts center... I'm here for it!

"The mission of Metro Parks and Recreation's Visual Arts Program is to provide and expand quality art and cultural experiences within Metro Parks' facilities via classes, workshops, art exhibitions and gallery/museum field trips for the citizens and visitors of Metro Nashville, Davidson County." Ample parking, two large classrooms. One for painting and one for clay. They offer classes several times a year, usually about 12 weeks each. A nice place to create, learn, meet, network, enhance your skills.

It has small offices and studios for rent, and a large co-working space (think Starbucks without the expensive coffee). It is one of the few places in Nashville where the coin of the realm is not social class but passion, commitment, and a willingness to learn and share. Tours are free, shop memberships are available at www.forthouston.org

Branded as a "makerspace", memberships start at $150/mo and cap at $500/mo. Open 24 hours a day (to members only), this is the perfect resource for artists looking to get their business of the ground without the commitment of purchasing studio-space. The shops include screen-printing, metal work, and wood. You can use your reserved space for pretty much any type of art if you don't want your livingroom overflowing with tools and clutter. You are responsible for providing all material supplies, the equipment is the responsibility of the establishment. While some might have a hard time justifying the cost of a membership, I personally don't have the funds to purchase the equipment they allow members to use for free. For me, this is the key selling point. There is a gallery on site and a cafe which features some of the artists work on its walls. During off-hours the space can be used an event space. Scheduling and availability is all done online. All in all, it's a very straight forward agreement, and a fun space to collaborate with other artists.

UPDATE #2 now her friends are attacking me on social media, and giving my business a negative…read morereview having never come into contact with it. Childish UPDATE: Soon after posting reviews, a refund was provided. Along with a message on Facebook full of attitude blaming ME for not calling during business hours. Which I did, and even waited 15 minutes after opening time. And I left a message. She also ranted about how she hasn't had issues with other people rescheduling. So, you know, it's all my fault even though I emailed her broken website (contact us function didn't work), messaged more than 3 separate times on Facebook AND called, leaving a message. It's really unfortunate, so many others seem to love this place. We would have loved that experience too. Our homeschool group scheduled classes, and we all prepaid. Totally fine. My kids were sick, and I will not expose others on purpose. I was told we could reschedule; my kids were really looking forward to that. Since then, I've done the "contact us" on her website which doesn't seem to be functioning. I've messaged her MULTIPLE times on Facebook, she responded the first time and hasn't since, but it shows the messages are read. I've left a voicemail asking again for the reschedule or a refund of the $45. She still has my money, and we didn't get the class nor the ornaments that came with it. My kids are disappointed, and I just want my money back.
