The office takes an incredibly detailed and scientific approach to their care (photos of each tooth....) and the staff, from reception (who engages my silly jokes) to hygienists (Maya and Julia - I believe:)) to Dr. Racic. I've been coming to the small Gurtner Dental offices for dental care all of my life, so I've had…read moreboth of the Gurtners - Maggie and Stephen - as my dentist at different points (one works primarily with kids, the other adults). They're definitely a great pair; I can only assume that I don't outright hate or fear going to the dentist as much as the average American because I've had relatively good experiences with these two. I won't even pretend that I've always been the best at taking care of my teeth (boy, was I a challenge to deal with when I had braces and did absolutely nothing in the ways of caring of my teeth!), but they don't hold it against me (openly anyway). These days though my visits are actually usually fast and pretty painless, with the occasional additional matter that requires a little more than a basic check-up. Whenever I come in the staff is always interested in hearing about new developments in my life, which is sweet of them. And the office, which isn't the biggest place in the world never seems too packed or noisy, which is a plus in my book considering that I can be a little stressed waiting for my appointment to start as I hope there isn't a new problem with my teeth. I definitely think this is a great little business run by a great pair of people, and I totally recommend this office to anyone in the area who's looking for a new dentist.

We had been going there since my twins were about 18 months old. My son has Down Syndrome and each…read morevisit he became better at allowing them to do the steps. His last visit at the end of 2025 he had a different doctor and hygienist and he still did well. He stimmed some and had some hesitancy but overall did well. So I was caught off guard when the dentist said we should go to the main hospital for care moving forward. She cited some random health concern and that they had other"things" to help (which they don't). He's had the same issues since birth so it was very strange that this was brought up. However, it felt as if they didn't want to care for him anymore and that was enough for me to say "ok". Fast forward a few months and I get a reminder for an OT appointment there. Why would I keep an OT appointment if he is no longer welcome to have his dental care there? That just doesn't make sense. It's as if they want to showcase the "help" they have for kids but do not want to provide service for those children anymore. We absolutely loved going there until then and after speaking to a few moms in the Down Syndrome community, they received the same message at their appointments last year as well. I'm not sure if something has changed with the staff or what but I will no longer recommend them to families who have children with special needs. Just go to the Main Hospital as they've been fantastic as well and he still let them do everything just fine.

I've had my ups and downs in office, but overall when I look at it all, this is the office for me. They do sometimes not explain billing super well. But they have payment options which is nice, and their one of the few offices that works with government insurance. There was one cruel tech, but they fired her pretty fast it seemed because she was in multiple complaints for her cruel behavior. Which made me respect the office immensely. It showed they understand the struggles people go through that lead to teeth issues. They could've probably easily told me dentures, but they didn't. They took their time fixing each tooth, they were always kind throughout, and I am so thankful for all they do and have done. I've noticed some even now with use a numbing gel and then the numbing agent which is nice. I have a high pain tolerance but still, a little less pain in this world ain't so bad! I definitely have had moments when my disorder has acted up there, but they kinda seem understanding of it. They'll give me a second when I'm anxious. They let me pause. They fight insurance for coverage. Now I'm finally making more and will be moving insurance, and be able to afford treatments outside what the government allows, which makes me even more grateful because i know they know what they're doing. This place made me not afraid of the dentist anymore! Yay!

I had a tooth extracted here and experienced a concerning lack of post-op care and communication…read more Immediately following the extraction, the doctor instructed me to take my prescribed antibiotics so the site would heal properly. However, the prescription was never sent to my pharmacy. I tried calling the emergency number provided on my discharge paperwork over the holiday weekend, but no one answered, and my email went completely unacknowledged. When I finally reached the office on Tuesday, I was told it must have been a "mistake" and that the doctor was referring to antibiotics prescribed weeks prior. When I asked for further clarification about why the doctor explicitly told me to take them post-surgery, the receptionist just chuckled and brushed it off. I am now 9 days post-op, in severe pain radiating to my ear, and having to seek care elsewhere for a likely dry socket/infection because this office completely dismissed my concerns. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy care. Update: ABSOLUTELY DO NOT COME HERE WITH SERIOUS MATTERS IT WILL NOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY!
