We just happened to be walking by looking for somewhere to get lunch. I peeked in the window here…read moreand saw it was much more than a meat counter. There were several prepared items you could buy: salads, samosa, pakora, beef patties, sausage rolls, chicken cutlets, baked potatoes, etc. There was nothing vegan and gf for me but hubby got beef patties, sausage rolls and chicken fingers (smaller version of cutlets). He heated them at home and both he and my son enjoyed them all. They even sold Cadbury Flake chocolate bars from England so of course that was purchased and enjoyed as well. They have a freezer section and lots more in the back of the store as well. This was a nice local find in port credit:)

Aesthetically, it's not much to write home about. The walls are decorated with the standard meat charts, and there are posters from the Royal Winter Fair, which the store appears to participate in on some level. The meat is good, thankfully. I tend to usually pick up a few things Euro-style, getting a half pound of bacon to take care of breakfasts to come and a BLT or two and a chicken breast for that night's stir fry. The shop also has a hot lunch counter, and it's got a lot of tasty stuff. You have to get there quick or you'll find it's run out of the tastiest items as local workers show up. And we all know to follow the locals to where the good food is. The wrap I picked up one day was a bit greasy, but grease is flavour. I've never done a turkey or cow order from them, but if you need to pick up a couple items from them they're a good shop.

He had some frozen bacon wrapped steaks all of different thicknesses. The man behind the counter was kind enough to put together three of similar thickness, so I took those. They are the BEST butchers in Oakville, with the best employees. Everytime I come in, I feel SO welcomed, I have never felt the least bit intimidated or like I didn't belong. I've bought everything from meats to prepared pasta meals to lunch from Boffo's, and everything is amazing, everytime. The prices and/or specials might be consistently lower. Their produce specials are deeply discounted. Great for those big pots of soups, stews and chowders in the cold months when you need a lot of vegetables. I find their bakery section less cluttered than the aforementioned. And the bakery clerks very friendly. Who can't be friendly around all that sweetness. Each aisle has a special on one product or another. The jarred root vegetable salads are aplenty. Hard to find European products packaged with high standards such as Pâté are in full dupp Their meat and poultry prices are reasonable as well. And to my surprise they sell Wine and Beer. I got an excellent bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon for under $15 that's cheaper than the price for the same bottle in the USA. So that's easily worth 5 stars.

Tip: The short ribs are awesome!…read more I was introduced to Wild Fork through a Yelp community event. I loved what I had sampled that I made a purchase and enjoyed what I got. This store is in a plaza with tons of parking. I backed into a parking spot fairly close to the store. I noticed a tent across from the store. The tent had food samples. Yay! I sampled the following items: - Korean beef short ribs - Jerk chicken wings - Garlic bread - Bourbon garlic bison sausage My favourites were the short ribs and garlic bread. The former had a mild spice kick to them. I loved the marinade and flavour. The beef was tender. I loved them so much that I got William from Wild Fork to point me to the aisle where I could buy them. The latter had a generous smear of butter and garlic. It was excellent. The jerk chicken wings were yummy. The problem was that a couple of wings that I had were undercooked. I saw a bit of blood, so I stopped eating them. At first, I felt that the sausage was dry and needed more fat. I then realized that I was eating bison, which is lean. It made sense why it seemed dry for a sausage. It wasn't gamey. I couldn't taste the bourbon, but I did taste the garlic. The store has wide aisles. This store is bright and inviting. Wild Fork blast-freezes all their meats. They are then packaged such that the seasoning gets into the meat. Yumminess ensues when you thaw and prepare them. This place also sells mini lime and vanilla cheesecakes. I had the lime first. It had a subtle lime flavour in the cheesecake filling. I didn't like the graham cracker crust. It was too crumbly and dry. It needed more butter to have the crust stay intact. I brought the vanilla home. Same issue with the base. The cheesecake part was good, but I didn't taste the vanilla. I paid for my short ribs at the checkout. I paid with a MasterCard. I tapped and was done. I pan-fried the Korean short ribs at home. It was easy and it took little time, roughly three minutes on each side over medium heat. They were thin, but meaty and delicious! I need to return to get more. It's a cool store. I wish it were closer to home, but at least it's not too far away from work to grab what I need here. (326)
