A few were polite and friendly, but others over promised on pick up times (left us waiting an extra 30 minutes in the dark and cold, only to be told he was late because he had been flagged by someone else), or were condescending in tone ("it's the small gold coin...yes I know, I've lived here 5 years thanks")

My biggest qualm though... Worst. iPhone app. Ever. It would appear that every time I am in a hurry to order a taxi the Suburban Taxi iPhone app either freezes or fails to search for a taxi. I have had 2 occasions where I have pre-ordered a cab (the night before) and a cab still has not been booked by the next morning. Why don't you just call them then Chloe? Because we live in the digital age and I shouldn't have to is why! Stubborn and very Gen Y of me? Yes. But when you can catch a cab from 4 different companies in Adelaide you need to differentiate to truly be great and this is one thing that now turns me off using Suburban if I need to get to the airport or an event.

Particularly important during busy times. Because they often drive from the city to get you, they're reluctant to come if there's a high chance you'll be picked up by another cab first. Even if you're waiting inside, you're better off telling them a quieter street. And if you've got an iPhone, get the app. With it you can skip the phone queue and tap directly into their booking system. Enter either an address or push 'iHail' (will send a cab to your location) and track the taxi as it approaches. Ahhh, technology.

She did her consult, took me home and I STILL had to ring them to cancel the taxi FROM MY HOME WHERE I WAS NEEDING TO GO! The taxi's rank up only 2 minutes away from where I was so it's not like there wasn't a cab nearby! Short fares are still a friggin fare, it's still $12+ in their pocket. So over this attitude, I have cancer and my leg was broken by it, I can't walk even short distances. On top of that I SHOULDN'T have to explain myself to get a ride that I'm paying for no matter what the distance! I will not bother to book with them if there drivers are so picky to leave people standing around waiting like this. Totally appalling!

I book hours in advance and they're still late, I've had taxis that are apparently 500m away,…read more10mins later, they've apparently canceled cos I get a notification that another taxi has accepted my job, meanwhile I was waiting by the road the whole time. Had "no pickups" multiple times where they apparently just don't bother going into the car park. I'm only using taxis because my work provides me with cab charges, I'm urging them to give me uber vouchers instead. Do these taxis really not understand why uber is taking so much of their business??
