But what disturbs me the most is the Managers specifically one by the name of Ana and the other by the name of Mattie both are and this is being kind under developed when it comes to language, dress, and professionalism. I've seen a lot of bad managers but these two are the worst. I've actually heard Ana say I'm about to " fire a bitch" in front of customers and heard Mattie call her kitchen staff a bunch of idiots. I use to be a regular there but not anymore. The way they talk to there employees is very disrespectful to say the least. They speak to them as they are beneath them it's disgusting. I actually run my own business and I would never speak of my employees in such a manner especially in front of customers how these two people still have a job amazes me. Loves can do better. The food overall is pretty good but the Managers those two are below average.

I cut them each in half and we each had half a steak. My husband's wasn't terrible--wasn't great either, but mine didn't even look like a ribeye, but they assured my husband that it was. I tried my first bite. It was suspect when I really had to saw through it with my steak knife. I chewed and chewed... the more I chewed the larger and drier it got! I literally could not get the first bite down. I tried one more time from another area of the "steak". (I think it was a hunk of roast). Same thing. There was absolutely no way to eat this meat. At twenty dollars a pound I expected SOMETHING steak-like. . I wrapped it up and took it back to show them the problem. The front desk would not let me take it back to the meat department. They wanted a receipt. Who saves receipts for steak??? I didn't have one. I tried to explain this to the meat department and they told me that it was their "policy" that they couldn't do anything without a receipt. I explained that the wrapper was up front and surely they could do something. Again, the "policy"--just like a little puppet. They gave me excuse after excuse but did nothing. Not even an apology. For twenty bucks a pound no excuse was going to work. No satisfaction, nothing. They have permanently lost my business. On top of all that, they couldn't have cared less. No concern whatsoever. NONE. I am still angry. They must have too many customers if that is how they treat them. WARNING--don't even take a chance. I won't darken their door again.

We were not disappointed- Mike, Mark and the team ran a detailed diagnostic of the problem, talked us through the necessary repairs - new spark plugs and coils- and got to work on it immediately. They were accommodating to our large family, let us get things out of the RV, so we could spend time at the zoo while we waited, and had us back on the road 4-5 hours later. They personally called us a couple of hours later to make sure all was well. This is the sh*tiest, most unkept Kwik Shop in Topeka. You can't blame Covid for how this place is…read morerun, it's management/ownership clearly doesn't know how to run this place. They are constantly out of food items, or just don't make them. Various drink machines don't work half the time or are out of service. The place is unkept, trash on counters, just all around dirty. The car wash appears to not have worked in years, gas pumps and/or credit card readers on them stop working all the time or are just unkept. There are usually homeless men hanging outside at all times as well. I'll include a couple pics I snapped yesterday which finally made me post this review. QuickTrip can you just come to Topeka and put these sh*tty@ss Kwik Shops out of business? Please!

Let that sink in for a moment before I begin this review. Some background: I've been frequenting this rest stop ever since I met my husband (then boyfriend) back in 2012. His family lives in central Kansas and this stop is **roughly** halfway between KC and where most of them live. We both have always agreed that it's a solid store and likely the best one in eastern Kansas, before you hit bigger cities that have QTs available. It was a record breaking cold day the last time I was here with my family and we stopped as per usual for a quick restroom break and to pick up a bottle of water or two before continuing on our journey west. As is has been every other time I've been here over the past decade, it was clean, the folks working courteous, the bathrooms well stocked, and plenty of snacks and beverages to choose from. So, what makes this place 4 instead of 5 stars you might ask? Just a few small things: 1. they only carry one brand of sparkling water and are often out of it. That's my number one request at any rest stop these days and on my last visit here I snagged the very last bottle, I'm sure to someone else's dismay. 2. It's a great convenience store/ gas station but it just can't compare to the kings in this category like WaWa and QuikTrip. I will say though, what sets this spot from the others is consistency. This stop has come through for me on many occasions and I'm sure will continue to do so for years to come.

The service has really gone downhill since they first opened. Then a couple of weeks ago I went through it did another horrible job but I didn't have time to go through a second time. I went through yesterday and told them the back end hadn't gotten Killeen the first time and asked him to please do the pre-treat and make sure it got cleaned the kid just nodded at me and motioned me on forward. Basically he sprayed the back end about three times and turned away to the next car. Once again the back of the car came out barely any cleaner than when it started.
