He came and replaced fascia once - without making any change to his original method - of course, fascia warped again less than one year later! Sloppy workmanship! Not once but twice!! He walked away from the install problem and placed the blame on everyone else...all this after paying over $12K .

He laid out really beautiful plans that were representative of how the finished product looked but honestly, the finished product is even more amazing than we had realized it would be. Jim is experienced and knowledgeable. Jim's team is excellent and very hard working and he and his team are responsive to concerns. As with any project, unexpected things arose, and they all got dealt with. The finished costs were within ten percent of the estimate, which having had several other large projects done on our house, is within what I expect as reasonable, especially in context of providing estimates during times of rising building costs and supply chain delays. He was accurate in timeline of how long project would take and was honest. In terms of the quality of the work... Months later we are still AMAZED at how well it came out. We, at Jim's suggestion to consider, elected EZE breeze windows to make it a 3 season Carolina room that will be usable during pollen season. We spend time out there everyday and eat a lot of meals out there and will for decades to come. Years ago, we got good advice from a contractor who is going to remodel our bathroom. He told us there would be times during the project where we would all be angry with each other, which is normal when you are spending a lot of money to do something to your most important financial investment, which is also where you live. That advice helped us through bathroom renovations. It also helped at the couple of times when I was upset with Jim about things that are pretty typical during a project. We communicated with Jim rather than let things fester and things got handled very smoothly. I would advise anybody was asking to strongly consider using Structurally Speaking to do a deck or porch project and, whether you hire them or someone else, communicate clearly when you have concerns. If you hire Structurally Speaking, Jim will make sure to address your concerns and you will be thrilled with how your project comes out.

I'm in awe at how great a professionally painted eggshell wall can look because I've clearly never done it properly myself (my typical way of painting ends with me swearing loudly and usually paint on at least 6 surfaces that were never intended to be painted on). Nathan is so nice and his crew have always been super thorough and make sure to prep and clean, which is so appreciated after we've had to scrap paint off the floor after our builder's guys touched up. My projects were a little more involved as I was converting a tub into a shower, tiling the floor and some of the walls, replacing vents and toilets, inputting new cabinets and we restructured a closet to make our bathroom larger. His quote seemed a little high at first but it was comparable to 4 - 5 other quotes I received. In the end, I liked Ryan's honest approach and willingness to help us work through some of the design elements with which we struggled. After seeing all the work his teams did on my job and the quality of the materials he used, I felt like I got a deal! Ryan works with an excellent cast of folks! His colleague, Adam, is conscientious, hard-working, personable and a talented craftsman in his own regard. The two managed their work and the staff of their sub-contractors professionally, assuring all the work was done to our satisfaction. The project took about 6 weeks all tolled, but, there was regular activity almost everyday. There were no delays that I can think of on Ryan's side and only short ones on my side trying to find the right mirrors we needed (we chose to put mirrors on an uneven stone wall which is a challenge to make safe and well mounted). Not only would I recommend Carolina Premier Home Improvements to anyone considering a home renovation, but, I plan on using Ryan's Team for my kitchen remodel later this year. I really had a tough time finding a contractor who I felt I could trust and that had the skills/experience to do what we wanted and Ryan has exceeded my expectations. I envisioned having a lot of back and forth over design problems and a bunch of change requests. I thought there would be a number of punch list items at the end too. We had virtually none of those issues. Ryan (or his sub-contractors) came back once to touch up some paint and re-secure a toilet paper holder. That's it! The point is that Ryan really tries to get it done right the first time and largely succeeds. Finally, a word on Ryan's use of sub-contractors. I have had experiences where contractors farm out work to the cheapest company and, frankly, the product reflects the use of cheap materials or under-skilled workers. Ryan's sub-contractors have clearly worked with Ryan on many projects and they deliver to his expectations (which exceeded mine in some cases). They spoke highly of Ryan and Adam, clearly appreciating the working relationship they have with Carolina Premier Home Improvements. In today's home improvement market, it speaks volumes to me that his vendors and sub-contractors speak as highly of Ryan as he speaks of them. Thanks for the GREAT Job!!!
