While attending Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine in Newark, NJ, he entered the Naval Reserve Dental Program and was commissioned as an Ensign. In August 1981, he attended Officer Indoctrination School at the Naval Education and Training Center in Newport, RI. After graduating from Rutgers in 1982, Dr. Benson reported to the Naval Regional Dental Center, Naval Station, San Diego, CA and then in 1984 was transferred to Branch Dental Clinic, Naval Air Station, Miramar, CA. In July 1985, Dr. Benson separated from active duty and entered private practice in Fairlawn, OH. before opening his own office in 1990. He has built a very successful family and cosmetic dental practice because of his dedication to rendering quality care in a pleasant and friendly environment. Dr. Benson is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. I had a terrible experience with another dentist and ended up coming to Dr. Pires for his opinion…read more He told me I didn't need the $3k surgery (with full anesthesia!) that the other dentist told me I absolutely had to have. Dr. Pires was very kind and relatable, he was very calm and my fears and told me that he had a little one around the age of mine. His staff was very friendly and competent, and he saved me from a pricey, expensive surgery. He completely fixed my issue in 5-10 minutes with a simple laser procedure that was significantly less invasive and expensive. I would highly recommend Dr Pires if you ever need a periodontist. I've seen a few, and he's the best in NE Ohio, hands down.

Then the nurse, while they had my mouth cut open says in an extremely rude voice, you know you are going to have to pay for us to fix this. I called my regular dentist, and they said they would finish the procedure for me. I would never go back there, and would not recommend this Doctor, or the office to my worst enemy. A year later, I am still having jaw pain.
