Ok, firstly I don't 'DO' takeaway.....not interested in cold flabby pizza, don't want soggy chinese served in metal cartons that's had the life steamed out of it by being shunted around town....hate fried chicken and don't do kebabs....ever...I'll occaisionally crave a curry if the hangover is bad enough but tend to make a pretty mean one myself so don't bother ordering in...until the advent of MUNCH.
Opened last May I managed to totally ignore it for the first few weeks of it's existance....dismissing it as 'just another chicken shop' until one afternoon in late summer I popped in after an afternoon at The Emirates watching Arsenal win. I had an hour to turn it around from football yob to Siren and was strarving so popped in to pick up something to eat on the hoof. The owner, Sati was there and immediately struck up conversation and was very insistent I bring home a taster of everything in his display fridge, curries, dahls, rice dishes, naaans etc...well...that was it...I was hooked. I ordered the very next day and it's become a very big weekly treat....it's not just the curries that are good....his kebabs are amazing...especially th mega munch, grilled chunks of lamb and chicken served with a wonderful home made chilli sauce, salad and wrapped in the best naan bread i've ever had (he has a tandoor oven and a proper pizza oven) all for £4.95. Try the tandoori chicken with salad and naan for £3.95, amazing, as is pretty much everything else....they deliver, they are charming and frankly all takeaways should be like Munch. Sati cooks the curries himself and each one is a little slice of heaven. I haven't had the pizzas or the fried chicken...but can highly recommend everything else. read more
