I've learned relevant Spanish (not random words I'll rarely use or only formal responses). It helps me think on my feet and really use the language every day. Due to his diagnosis, learning to read, understanding the alphabet, phonics have all been an uphill battle for him. Throw in covid and unfortunately he got further behind. So, in steps Sylvan. (He had a private tutor, who was a substitute teacher), who tutored him once and then quit because she didn't feel she was a good fit. I met with Ms. Gabrielle, the Center Director who was so welcoming and really understood a lot of my concerns. She addressed one of my concerns regarding my son needing accommodations to see and hear letters and sounds and she was able to make this accommodation for him and if not, it was a deal breaker for us. Second, Our private speech therapist had a 40 minute conversation with Ms. Gabrielle about how my son learns, where he's at with his language and what not to say because he honestly doesn't understand what that means. She has proven herself to be so instrumental in my sons ability to learn. She has also communicated this to my sons teachers. In about 4 months, my son has almost closed a years worth of learning. His teachers, Ms. Jen, Ms. Heather, Ms. Mimi And Ms. Rachel are treasures!! They really know how to teach and having them at sylvan is an asset and I'm hoping the directors notice this. These teachers truly care and I can see my sons self esteem and confidence surge! Thank You So Much Ms. Gabrielle and to my sons teachers!

My daughter really enjoyed her time with him and felt it help to prepare her in ways she could not have done on her own. This is a review of the tennis courts…read more If you look through my history of reviews, I usually go to PSHS to play tennis if I'm in the Plano area. But for some reason, my friend and I felt a little adventurous on New Years Day. I guess we wanted to start 2014 off with a bang! Unfortunately, it seemed like entire city felt the same way as well. When we got to the courts around noon, all the courts were filled up and there were at least 10 other groups waiting to get on. The courts themselves are tucked behind the school on the NE side. You have to drive through the back parking lot to get there. The facilities look nice and well maintained. I had to drop one star because apparently there aren't enough courts to handle the demand. Not sure about what the lighting situation at night is though. Will have to return and update my review. Tip: We went to the adjacent middle school behind Plano West. There are nice courts back there, but there are no windscreens on the fences. This makes it tough to play during the Winter/Spring in Texas. Also, parking is hard to find.

The entrance is clearly marked and accessible with plenty of parking available. Signs clearly showed where to go to the cafeteria and there were several poll workers there to get you checked in and provide ballots. Once you made your selections, it was easy to place your ballot in the machine and be on your way! I hadn't been inside the school in a number of years so it was fun to see the remodeled cafeteria and library. Tax dollars well spent. Elementary aged students should be proud to attend school here. It looks to be a great place to have fun and learn at the same time.

My daughter who is in 9th grade wanted to work on her test taking abilities to start preparing for her SAT. So she led me here. They do an interview which seemed like it could be more of a financial size-up since the price easy give some sticker shock (actually, paying up-front for three years was surprising for me). But even though it felt a little like getting pulled into a used car managers office, they really didn't focus on price. The people there were all very nice and welcoming. The place had a really good vibe. We went to our orientation (we really had covered almost all if it in the interview, but I guess some just apply online). A couple things that would be nice would be coffee and a chair or two. We got there in the morning(ish) and were in a rush with no coffee. I was really hoping they would have a kuerig and a place to sit. They had neither. Probably since the kids would just take over any lounge they set. I'll bring coffee next time.
