I am very unhappy with mulch, and more. I ordered four yards of screened loam. What I received is nearly fifty percent sand and gravel. I called to voice my Concerns but nothing was done. I would not recommend this company. read more

My experience with Mike's was almost word for work as to what I found reading the reviews. I ordering wood from Mike's I had 2 cords delivered I asked for 16" only! I got lots and mostly 17" to 18" most of the 16" is so wide I've had to rent a log splitter for $100. Not to mention my time and labor! So now I have 2 cords of mostly green wood, they were even nice enough to give me green cedar!! Really what's up with that so my $200 cords of which I bought 2 of not to mention $55 for delivery will now cost me anther $100 for the wood splitter I had to rent. read more

As we are attempting to beautify the yard for summer- we engaged in a pretty thorough price search of mulch. Our search led us to this place because the prices were unbeatable At 27.50 per yard- you cant beat it. We had seen prices that ranged from 40-60 per yard and friends in east greenwich had been quoted 100-120 per yard. With no apparent differenc e in the quality of mulch advertised we went the frugal route. Mulch N More arrived at our home with a large sized dump truck filled with our mulch order. Unfortunately because of an electrical wire that runs close to our drivey, the truck could not pull in completely and efficiently dump the mulch onto our tarp. As a result of this, we needed to get creative. The driver and only representation present from Mulch N More was unable to assist in any type of manual labor - because of his weight and an apparent hip injury. My husband simply climbed up into the dump truck with a shovel and began shovelling the remainder of our order onto the tarp. I do question what would have been the business' solution to the issue had my husband not been home. With the driver's physical condition and then me being 8 months pregnant- I am hoping that he would have called for reinforcements. Bottom line- it was still the best price in town. read more

Not sure why some bad reviews. I called and got 2 yards of black mulch delivered next day and black mulch was nice and great size load. Delivery guy was nice, pleasant and professional. No complaints here and price including delivery was very reasonable compared to competitor in area. Would definitely use again. read more

Thinking about yard service. Mike's truck on 195 decided to play chicken on my morning commute - where vehicles 'alternate' to adjust for the approaching Washington Bridge. I was forced into a ramp lane and the truck tailgated another car in order to not allow me to pass them. I looked at the driver as I passed; he rolled down the window and whistled at me with derision. Don't think I'll be using Mike's Mulch N More becauses they are angry and abit scary in their behavior - taking it to the roads. Who wants road rage with a mulch truck during the morning commute, let alone near your home and family? read more

I contacted Mulch N More for some firewood after hearing good things from a friend. I called and immediately found out that Mulch N More is actually run by Mike's Professional Tree Service. If you read the reviews on Yelp (http://www.yelp.com/biz/mikes-professional-tree-service-coventry) you will see that it isn't exactly the most professional company around. I called up and asked for three cords of wood delivered to my home. The woman on the phone was very nice and respectful and was very professional. I was not home for the delivery (shame on me) but the driver unloaded the wood right where I asked which was great. As soon I got home from work I went to check the wood and it was a little damp on the outside. There was no rain recently so I know it wasn't because of that. I cut open a couple of pieces and they were "damp" inside. You could actually feel the wood was wet. I wrote it off that I picked a couple of bad pieces to check. (First mistake). The weekend came and I headed out with my tractor to get it all stacked up for this upcoming winter. What I found was trash. Empty coolant bottles, cardboard boxes, coffee cups, metal parts and more. It actually filled up my bucket on my John Deere tractor. I called up Mulch N More and told the woman on the phone what I found along with the wet wood and she was very apologetic and said she would let Mike know in the morning to see what he can do. I waited three days with no response. I called back and asked what happened and the woman on the phone was surprised that I hadn't been contacted yet and told me that Mike would contact me in the morning. I waited two more days with no response. I called back once again asking what happened and the woman on the phone said "He didn't talk to you?". I said no. She then asked if I was a particular individual and I stated I wasn't. She then said "oh must have been someone else, Mike will call you this afternoon". This implied that this also happened to someone else as well. Mike called me that afternoon and was immediately apologetic stating that people drive to his yard and dump trash in the trucks. He also said that he yelled at the crew for not checking the trucks. Both of these statements were not impressing me. Mike said he could give me money off ($25 to be exact) every cord of wood for the rest of my life for my troubles. I told him that this was a one time thing and that I just needed it for this first winter as I have lots of wood on my property. I asked if he could just give me a credit off the wood that I already bought and he said that he couldn't do that. He wouldn't even know how to write the slip not to mention his accountant would kill him. I was shocked by this statement and asked him again, Mike then asked me "You want me to give you $75 for the three cords of wood? It wouldn't cost me that to have someone drive up there and throw the trash out". I told him I don't want anyone from his company on my property and that I can throw the trash out. He then wanted to give me two tickets to some show that he couldn't go to that night. I was shocked by this statement. This is where I ended the conversation. There was no reasoning at all. I am now stuck with wet wood and throwing out his trash for $225.00 a cord. Lesson learned! *Update* I have added a photo of some of the trash to my profile. read more
