This is a wonderful school that teaches children in warm and loving environment. The small class size and multi-age approach provided the perfect environment for our family to transition from homeschooling to public school. Parent involvement what makes this school into more of an extended family than a school. Highly recommended. read more

My daughter (3) is doing so well at Mulberry! The class sizes are small, so she receives a lot of individualized attention. The kids are taught to cook, bake, they have music and Spanish class, and they are encouraged to participate in a lot of outdoor creative play. In two days she learned through song the days of the week and the months. The teachers do a wonderful job of paying close attention to your child so if they appear sick or get a rash, it doesn't go unnoticed. The teachers love their students and pour themselves into their kiddos. If you're looking for a part time or full time preschool, Mulberry is highly recommended! read more

Mulberry School is an independent, private, non-profit school that provides children with the opportunity to learn in an environment that values curiosity and natural development. We work to “nurture the innate love of learning” by teaching children how, as opposed to what, to learn. Serving the Bloomington-Normal community since 1971, Mulberry School is a cooperative institution where parents have the opportunity to participate in nearly every aspect of the school. It is support and input that allows us to provide a unique learning experience for our students. Today Mulberry School offers a morning class for two-year-old’s, half day and full day preschool options for three, four, and five-year-old’s, a full-day Kindergarten, and first/second/third-grade education. Mulberry School’s academic program provides children with the opportunity to learn in an environment that values curiosity and natural development. Mulberry’s classes are led by certified, experienced teachers who encourage children to make choices that lead to independence, a sense of responsibility, and self-confidence. At Mulberry School, we do indeed “nurture the innate love of learning” by continuing to teach children how, as opposed to what, to learn. Mulberry School is a parent-cooperative academic institute; parents and teachers work in tandem to ensure the school’s successful operation. We teach children how to learn, not what to learn.

History

Established in 1971.

Mulberry School began its journey in a quaint little house in Bloomington, Illinois. In 2020, we made the move to our current location, and since then, we have continued to thrive and grow. We are grateful for the support of our community as we foster a nurturing environment for our students to flourish!
