We have been several urgent cares before and it's usually very packed and especially busy during the weekend. The wait time can be a few hours just to see a doctor. It took only 5 mins to check in after filling out all the medical paperwork. In less than 5-10 mins, a nurse already called us in to take my dad's health readings and immediately had a heart machine to monitor his heartbeat. In about 5-10 mins the doctor came in to check on my dad. Afterwards, it just took a little longer to wait for misc paperwork. I was amazed in less than 45 mins, we were in and out!!!! The facility was cleaned. They even have a security guard on site for our safety. The staff could also speak Chinese and overall they were professional and friendly! Instead of clearly explaining the reason for the extra $80 cost, the staff member came across as demanding and dismissive--as if I was supposed to already know their internal policies. At no point during my visit was I informed that discussing my symptoms could turn the appointment into a higher-cost consult. What made matters worse was the tone of the conversation. It felt like I was being blamed for the appointment running longer, which is unfair. Patients rely on medical staff to guide the visit appropriately--it's not our responsibility to manage time or determine billing classifications. There also seems to be a lack of internal communication and organization. If expectations, pricing, and visit structure were clearly communicated upfront, situations like this could easily be avoided. I asked to speak to the office manager because, yes, I had every right to be upset. Instead of taking accountability , apologizing, I was met with defensiveness--and then banned. Banned for speaking up after being treated poorly, advocating for myself. That tells you everything you need to know about how this office handles concerns.
