Not all Movement Disorder Treatment Specialists are Five Stars, this is my Fourth Neurologist in my Ten years. Fortunately for me, I have been Dr Niemann's patient at Muhammad Ali Parkinsons Center part of the Barrow Neurological Institute since 2020 to treat my Parkinson's. I found them by referral when my last Neurologist (third PD specialist) was relocating out of state. Dr. Niemann has proven to be an excellent doctor for treating my Parkinson's and referrals to other specialists when needed. Dr. Niemann and staff have made a significant improvements by providing knowledge, support, and a variety of treatments helping me to better cope with Parkinsons. The toolkit Dr. Niemann uses is ENORMOUS and cutting edge. I have received help with reducing my worsening symptoms (off times and dyskinesia/tremors) by changing to new, more effective, therapies. Dr. Niemann and his staff are beyond helpful with getting my different insurance companies to pay for necessary treatments that would otherwise be denied if it weren't for their tireless advocacy for my healthcare needs. Is it perfect? No. When you call during normal business hours you will reach the automated attendant when, however if you do leave a message with a phone number and reason for calling, they do call back within 24 hours. The Prescription Nurse will call you back within 24 hours too. First time time and new visitors are advised to read the packet and the map that send you prior to your visit, I highly encourage everyone to read and follow the packet instructions. Another important step is PARKING. I highly recommend PARKING at the 3rd Ave garage located near cross streets Thomas and 3rd Ave follow the signs for easier access which is very close to the 240 W. Thomas, where I've default set my GPS. If you trust your GPS mapping app to decide it will feed you to the main St. Joe's Dignity entrance and main parking structure located 350 W. Thomas Rd a very long walk to get where you are going. Again it's not perfect, but it works for me and the care attention that I receive from the staff and my doctor are far better for me than the five stars. read more
