Last Thursday evening May 22nd I took my family out for a birthday celebration. I had never been to…read morethis restaurant before but chose it because of the good online reviews I had read. I had made a reservation for 5:45PM although this was not necessary since when we arrived there was only one other table occupied. Our server was very , very slow which began to become very frustrating since she only had one other table. I ended up having to wave her over to get her attention and this was after sitting for at least 10 minutes. We ordered drinks, White wine, margarita and an appetizer of Tortilla chips. When the server returned she brought a glass of red wine not white, when I stated I had ordered white wine she rudely said "no you didn't" and refused to take it back at which time I asked for a glass of white. In my opinion, even if I had accidentally ordered the red, it is really surprising that she would not switch them out. When the tortilla chips came it was SHOCKING!! the cheese was dry and looked like it had been sitting on the chips for hours obviously it was not freshly prepared. The guacamole did not look like any guacamole I have ever had or seen, it was close to a mint green color and when I asked the server about this she stated "it is Mexican guacamole", I have been to Mexico many times and NEVER saw this color or the syrup like consistency it had. Because of her rude behaviour and poor quality food we paid the bill, including the glass of unwanted red wine and left, we did not order entree's. This is the first review i have ever written but the experience was so awful that I wanted to share this with the public and hopefully the owners of this establishment will use this review to make some much needed changes.

Dear fellow Yelpers,…read more I deleted my last review of this place Becuase I only gave it a half star. Kevin Tait told me that user error shouldn't count, I don't do well with spice and i thought it would be a good idea to get Chilé lime sauce (which had 2 fire emojis by the way). Well to my dismay it was damn near intolerable as my eyes watered, my throat had fire ants and my mouth felt as if I had drank gasoline and lit a match inside it. So my mistake led to me giving this place a piss poor review. Therefore i retract my statement and give this place a 5 star rating because Cafe Verde meets all criteria of a great food place: 1. Clean Bathroom in which the toilet is at a great and comfortable sitting height. 2. Friendly local buisness with workers who genuinely look like they know how spicy the food is. 3. Food which is prepared in such a way that the texture arouses my cheeks. 4. GREAT FOOD. Well done me amigõs, see you soon.

I order a taco every time I indulge for someone who may not have the great fortune to come in person and get a hot, delicious meal for themselves. As an additional note, they have the BEST fish & chips (I don't even bother with the fries-they would take up precious belly space where the fish belongs), they are allergen and vegetarian aware, and have rotating specials that are creative and interesting. Last month's was a Beyond Meat special, this month's has Asian flair (Spring Roll is the flame). They have great weekly specials, are very reasonably priced and produce consistent delicious food.

Ordered through SkipTheDishes for my wife and myself…read more Delivery was very fast and courier was great. Wife and I both got double taco combo, both one chicken and one shrimp mango. I included instructions to hold the Pico de Gallo as I am allergic to jalapeños. My chicken taco came without the Pico and was very good. They did not hold it for mango taco so I was unable to eat it. I had ordered a Diet Coke, but received a regular coke instead. The mini poutines were very tasty. As we ordered through SkipTheDishes, a return is kind of a pain, so my wife took the stuff I couldn't eat for lunch. Overall, what I could eat was good. If ordering, patrons should maybe call the restaurant and confirm their special requests/actual order to ensure they get what they want. The small details ruined my experience in this case

I was fairly impressed with our visit to the BP's on Mayor Magrath. We don't often visit this chain…read morebut when we do it's usually fairly good. My wife and I had a gift card and decided to check it out. One thing that BP's does extremely well is variety! Their menu is massive; including burgers, pasta, steak, pizza, a ton of different appetizers! My wife and I shared a sweet chilli chicken appetizers which is garnished with shredded carrots and crunchy noodles. Very nice appetizer. I then had their dry Memphis heat wings which were amazing! They were really crunchy but still juicy and the dry rub they use on these wings are great! My one complaint is that they are over $13 for just 8 wings. So really not that great of a bargain, but still quite tasty. My wife had a limited time tomato bomb pizza which she quite enjoyed. Much like a margarita pizza. On a wonderful crunchy thin crust too! The service was friendly and fairly on top of refilling our drinks and grabbing our empty plates. We were seated beside a fairly loud talkative family, wasn't the best seating but BP's is hardly to blame for that. Overall it was a nice evening out.

They bought us dessert which was way above and beyond. Our new favorite place to eat

Our first go around our chicken tenders weren't as we remembered. Normally we love them but they weren't that crispy and the flavour for the tangy tai sauce was a bit off as well. Trying to supplement out the fries for mashed potatoes... forget about it! It ain't happening. But returning for a second time because we had a gift card, it was a lot better. We were greeted at the front door and seated quickly. Our waitress was quite friendly and the food came out quickly but it was fresh. There menu seems a bit limited, which I view as a negative, but others may not. Anyways I got the chicken tenders again and my wife got the Chicken Madeira Rigatoni. This time around though they allowed me to swap out the fries for mashed potatoes and gravy and boy was it worth it! So delicious. Potatoes were very creamy with no lumps! And the chicken tenders were piled high! Wonderfully crisp and full of flavour! And my wife loved her Rigatoni! If this was our first go around, I would have given them a 4 but I'm only giving 3 stars because of the mixed results, and limited menu. I do believe they are heading in a good direction though. The atmosphere is on the fancier side and we found it a bit more on the quiet side this time around as well. I look forward to our next visit though to be honest.
