The station is a bit confusing when you arrive, but there is a central location with some bathrooms, a Dunkin', and some seating. Convenient location with parking and some amenities but don't expect too much of this station!

Clean and usually on time. What more could you ask for?

The train itself was very full, so very little empty seats, but still the seating was good. There was a cafe car for those wanting to grab something to eat and all cars had two restrooms to choose. These were big and clean. Overall a nice experience on the train.

I have taken the Northeast Regional line and the Acela line. I like the Acela best because you can…read moresnag single seats, but the Northeast Regional has also been wonderful. The Amtrak employees are AMAZING. I've now taken several trips with this same crew, from DC to Baltimore to New Haven. They are SOLID people you feel safe with. For example, I fell asleep once and missed my stop. The conductor/employee helped me off and to find the train to get on to get back to my intended destination. This time around, the employee/conductor told me that I could get off in CT at State Street, which is what was on my ticket, but I would have to stay on the train much longer because they would have to turn around and re-align the trains. He gave me the tip that most passengers get off at Union station (SO close to State Street, it's a negligible distance). Then he took enough care to come back by again to tell me that Union was the next station if I wanted to get off. The cafe car was also wonderful. His credit card machine stopped working. I told him that I had cash, but made the joke that I didn't look forward to walking the LONG walk from the cafe car back to business class to get that cash. He offered to COME TO ME to get the cash later, and he did! Tipped him majorly! Business class is more expensive than coach, we are talking two to three times the price, but you get to choose your seat. On this particular line, it's never been full and I've never had anyone sitting next to me. It's worth it to me, but for some, it may not be. Cafe car has plenty of drinks and snacks. Sandwiches, cheese and cracker trays, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Nothing fancy, but gets the job done. But I can't get over how these guys have seemingly looked out for me and taken care of me on my many trips up and down the rails.

Next time we want to take a train into Manhattan on a Saturday, I'm pretty sure we will skip…read moredeparting out of New Haven and its traffic and parking fees. Why do that when you can leave out of a free weekend lot at the Westport train station? The station is so easy to find, it has a big lot with free weekend parking. If we had been leaving on a weekday, there would have been a parking fee, but that would have been balanced out by their Donut Crazy being open! Yup, a Donut Crazy is right there!

It's good it's here. Day costs are reasonable at $5 a day. Trains are frequent enough and the…read morestation platforms are clean with decent overhead for rain protection, however, where are there garbage pails! Why aren't there ticket machines at the other end of the platform and inside the waiting area? I can't be the only person to feel frustrated by that! Also, just pave the back day area already, too many times I've come and have to park back there. It's bad enough it's SO far away, but for Pete's sake, when it rains it gets pretty nasty back there!

There are two tracks with ample seating and elevators for accessibility. The entrance has a bit of a through street flow so traffic flows easily, and there are buses available as well.

Thank you Metro-North for doing better than my own state. New Haven Line service has great scenery plus electric outlets. And South Norwalk in particular was a pleasant surprise. Not only was there was a decent bathroom and phone-charging capability, but being able to enjoy a bit of AC and watch News 12 was, to quote Eric Bogosian, the icing on the gravy.

I did not see any public restrooms but their were a few awnings to stand under since it was raining. I normally do not get off at this station especially at night but certain I was in a safe area, while I waited to be picked up, fairly well lit parking lot as well.

Quiet but nice train station, just adjacent to a public park. It's got a machine for getting…read moretickets, but you do have to go walk down Sound Shore Drive to get from one side of the station to the other - there's no crossing in the station itself. It's adjacent to a historical area where the original power plant for the railroad used to be - now a power substation and park.
