I took my license test from them. The class was great, but the instructor was rude to me. I had my pistols in a bag next to my chair, secured and unloaded and he demanded that I remove them and put them in my car. Said I was endangering the class, despite the fact that he was carrying a loaded pistol on his hip. I got my license, however, I really don't want to go there for any type of shooting or classes again unless they change their attitude!

His knowledge and engaging teaching style made the whole experience informative and enjoyable. There was plenty of parking. I highly recommend it! However, the business would benefit from hiring a professional cleaning crew to clean the bathroom, sitting area, and shooting range. It seems like they are relying on regular workers to handle this task, and it's clear that some workers are doing more than others. Other than that, I give it a very high recommendation!

The staff and instructors gave us a lot of information and tips to make the process as seamless as possible. We both recieved out licensing with no problem and have returned many times for range visits. Unless you have your own pistol, they only rent the long gins for range practice. They have ammo and protective gear and if it's your first time out, their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful during your visit.

You send your target out with a hand-crank and the distances are marked on the wall. No magnum ammunition or steel cased ammo is permitted. You can collect and take home your brass. The staff is mostly friendly and helpful. For competent shooters, they stay out of your way and let you do your thing, but are willing to help you out if you need anything within reason. For beginners, most of the staff will offer you pointers and help you out. Some will just leave you alone as long as you're not doing anything stupid. They sell ammo if you didn't bring your own, but it's expensive so bringing your own is the best option. It comes down to this. It's the cheapest place to shoot in the area whether you pay per session or go for a membership. If all you want is a place to hang a target and do some target shooting or run some simple drills, it's great. This is by no means a high-end place or a tactical range.

He is kind to each and every student regardless of their prior experience or knowledge. Not only do I strongly recommend this course to all but I strongly recommend the expertise and experience of such a well rounded individual who will exceed your expectations.

Having held a CCW in multiple other states for 23 years and being a military veteran with significant prior firearms exposure, I have taken my fair share of training courses but none have matched the professionalism, depth, and structure of this one. Day 1: Firearms Safety The safety training was on point--thorough, clear, and structured in a way that catered to everyone, from first-time gun owners to experienced CCW holders. The instructors ensured that every single participant left with a full understanding of safe firearm handling. The multiple layers of safety reinforcement--classroom instruction, two separate mock firearm simulations with dummy guns, and live range training--ensured that no detail was overlooked. Day 2: Legal Instruction & Range Training The legal portion was exceptionally well-delivered. As a recent law school graduate, I was already familiar with firearms laws, but the way the instructors broke down complex legal concepts made it understandable for any layperson to grasp with confidence. The range training was perfectly structured, allowing for progressive learning--starting with drills and simulated exercises before firing 15 live rounds into targets. The instructors patiently guided each participant, ensuring they built confidence and proper technique, whether they were first-time shooters or seasoned carriers. Exceptional Instructors: True Professionals Instructor Joe Martini - Joe's extensive credentials speak for themselves, but his dedication to firearm safety and skill-building is what truly sets him apart. A true expert and highly trained instructor, Joe's knowledge and ability to teach at all skill levels made this course an exceptional experience. Instructor Sgt. Paul Conforti - With a background as a retired police officer and FBI/NRA-certified firearms instructor, Sgt. Conforti brought real-world experience and tactical analysis expertise to the class. His instruction was clear, no-nonsense, and incredibly valuable for anyone serious about responsible firearm ownership. Final Thoughts This course is a MUST (literally) for anyone looking to obtain a CCW or simply improve their firearm knowledge and safety. The professionalism, thoroughness, and real-world training scenarios provided far exceeded my expectations. Whether you're a new gun owner or a seasoned shooter, this course will make you better, safer, and more prepared. I highly recommend Westchester Firearms Safety Course to anyone serious about firearm safety and training!
