Edit: I reached out the customer service and they offered to deliver a replacement bouquet. It is gorgeous and much more similar to what I initially ordered. Very happy with how this issue was handled. Very disappointed. I bought a beautiful, colorful bouquet but what was delivered was pale and missing flowers. I understand that when certain flowers are not available, substitutions are made but in this case there was no substitution for the missing flowers except for a foil balloon (which I don't think it a proper substitution). There is no fuchsia stock, raspberry sinuata statice, or sword Fern. I recommend other florists in the area. read more

Mt. Vernon Florist - Christmas tree arrangement - Florists Near Me - Bakersfield, California

I just receive a beautiful arrangement of flowers and hit me! I must share the spot that continues to makes me smile even through the year of 2020. The delivery people are really nice and follow COVID-19 rules of 6 feet apart and wearing a mask. The flower arrangements I have received are always gorgeous and bounteous! The flowers are always perfectly arranged and super fresh! On their website you can see the different prices which can vary anywhere from $40 to $300 but I feel that the prices are reasonable due to the type of flowers and la mano de obra!! ( talent of the creator) Also, if you already have something in mind they will make an arrangement specially for you; just call and they will work with you based of the flowers they have in stock. Mt Vernon Florist is a small adorable shop next to East HIgh School just in case you want to see it in person and online won't suffice, you can see the beautiful creations in person! I promise it will brighten up your day! read more

I decided to give this local flower shop a chance rather than using 1800 flowers being that I already had multiple bad experiences with them. The problem is that they never send what I order online. This was the best decision I could have made. Thier website is very easy to use and checkout. The best part was that my loved one received exactly what I ordered online. Size and presentation was perfect!!! I asked for them to text me and let me know when the flowers were delivered and they did that for me. I will definitely use them again if I need flowers in the Bakersfield area! Great experience with this flower shop! Thank you guys for delivering such a beautiful arrangement during such a difficult time read more

I ordered three different arrangements for my mom and two grandmas after a friend recommended this florist. It was so easy to order online! My mom sent me a photo of her arrangement, and it looked even better in her photo than it did online. Gorgeous, elegant, and unique! For one of the arrangements, they were out of a particular vase, but they called AND emailed me to check to see if they could substitute the vase with another. They're the professionals, so of course I trust their judgement of what will look pretty and special, and the vase was switched. I would post photos of my grandmas' arrangements, but they don't have smart phones to take photos and text me. I'm confident their arrangements were just as beautiful as my mom's. So happy with the flowers and the service!! Thank you for helping me love my family during holidays!! read more

Really great local spot, my family and friends have been going here for years; I'm pretty sure all of my siblings have gotten their corsages for prom at this place lol. It's priced like most florists, but when I last minute ordered something, they were very accommodating and delivered super quickly. They do warn not to do that around a holiday. read more

Ordered here a couple times and I kept giving them another chance but flowers are NOT how they look online. The first time the vase didn't match the flowers but on the picture online it looked good. So idk what happen there. Ordered again and flowers didn't look how they were suppose to. The flowers looked like my niece picked them from outside and put them in a vase for me. This last time it was both. The vase didn't match the flowers and the roses were tiny, not how they look in the picture. Service is good so it's sad to say I won't be back. read more

One of the teachers I work with received flowers from Mt. Vernon Florist on the busiest day of the year (Valentines Day)and a few of the flowers looked wilted or smashed. I made a comment to the driver about the sad looking flowers and took the flowers and gave them to the teacher who was receiving them. About 20 minutes later the owner showed up with another beautiful bouquet to replace the first one. The owner was so apologetic and nice about giving another new arrangement. It was nice to see a business with great customer service. read more

My 100th review! The Passionate Purple Tulips bouquet (http://www.mtvernonflorist.net/bakersfield-flowers/passionate-purple-tulips-372666p.asp?rcid=searchresult&point=1) immediately captured my eye. Purple happens to be my moms favorite color; Amethyst, her birthstone. Mt Vernon Florist's advertises "Same day delivery on ALL bouquet's," perfect for my last minute order. I placed my order online last night only to receive a call this morning they have every color but purple. The gentleman on the other end of the line was proactive and kind, he did have a bunch of other optional colors; Pink seemed like a good second option. Waiting to see how delivery goes. Whether it's purple, yellow & orange, or pink whats most important is the element of surprise and the joy that I hope it brings my mom on her day! read more

I love local business and this is one of them. They have a great selection of flowers and are always very helpful.

After moving to Las Vegas 26 years ago, i still remembered this florist in Bakersfield. It seems like Mt. Vernon Florist has been around forever. The young lady on the phone was very pleasant and helpful. Great options to pick from. Thank you all for the great service. read more

After ordering a money tree to be delivered to my boyfriend's office there was some confusion and the driver, without my authorization, delivered it to a different address. The surprise was absolutely ruined and though they had offered to pick it up the next morning and redeliver, my boyfriend had to pick it up himself. I called and asked for a refund on the delivery fee which I was granted, but the ladies I spoke to were short and argumentative and hung up on me after saying "we are really busy!" I will be using a different local florist for any future purchases. read more

My cousin order a frame wreath for my father funeral service. She ask for white but when her husband picked up the wreath it was not white. The owner never once take the blame on their side but blame my cousin for their mistakes. The person who picked up the wreath didn't know the color of the flowers. All they know is, to picked up the order. It's not the price that matters but we are upset that they blame us for their mistakes. It was too late to even change the flowers because the service was less than an hrs. As a business owner, let me ask you the same question that you ask us. Put your self into our shoes. " What can you do?" We don't need to called because you already make it clear to us that it was our fault!! It's okay. We'll take the blame. Keep on denying that it was the young lady who tooked the order wrong. I believe in God and only God know's who is wrong!! read more

Flowers were supposed to be delivered same day i you order before 2pm. I was done placing my order by 1:30pm They called me around 5pm to say it would not happen till following day. In-laws sent me a picture and it looked nothing like what I ordered. Definitely not worth the $140.00 I paid. They did not even process the order someone out of town did. Would not recommend there services! read more

I placed an order online for the Bejeweled Beauty arrangement. The flowers were fresh and arranged as depicted. I placed the order the day before but they were delivered by 10am the following day. The online ordering was easy and they had a lot of different options. The service was great and they even fulfilled a special request to add butterfly accents if possible. I will definitely order from this florist again. read more

Tried to save time and money by going to Mt. Vernon florist today, and quickly realized why I usually go to Log Cabin! Don't get me wrong the store was clean but the poor girl working there was clueless about plants! First I asked for succulents and she had to go in the back to ask what they were! Next, I asked for gloxinias and she had to run to the back again. After all that, the store didn't have either item in stock! read more

I absolutely love this florist!!! I have driven down twice now from Elk Grove this year to make a very special visit at Historic Union Cemetery in Bakersfield after first stopping to pick up some special flower arrangements at Mt. Vernon Florist. Both times I was helped by a very sweet and friendly young lady named Paisley who took the time to assemble the perfect flower arrangements in the exact colors I requested each time! I am planning another trip in the next few weeks and without a doubt will stop first at Mt. Vernon to pick up my flowers! The arrangements are so amazing when placed at the cemetery bringing so much life and color that I've taken photos each time to bring back home and treasure well into the future! Thank you Paisley for your amazing flower arrangements and customer service! Pat C. Elk Grove, CA read more

I was sent to Mt Vernon Florist by the funeral home handling my mother;s service. The service they provided was second to none, they had a great selection of arrangements to choose from and even replaced flowers in them so my mother's favorite flowers were in the arrangements but even her favorite colors. They made everything so special I can;t begin to thank them. Perfect! read more

I do not recommend this florist one bit. I received an arrangment of flowers and half of the flowers were dead and beat up. I kindly called and them them know that i was not fully satisfied they replaced my flowers, they looked better but half of the flowers were still looking beat and old. I called to speak to the manager and kindly explained the situation again and he stated he put the arrangement himself and that the flowers were as fresh as can be and were delivered to him this morning. I do not recomend this place and they have just lost a returning customer. read more

My mother was very pleased with the arrangement I ordered online! The actual product looked better than the photo on the website. There was a slight hiccup, however. I placed the order on Wednesday for delivery on Friday, my mom's birthday. They ended up delivering my order that same day. When I called to let them know, they were great about it. They ended up delivering another arrangement to my mom on her actual birthday and she loved it! Thanks, Mt. Vernon Florist! read more
