Horrible experience overall. During my appointment, I was accidentally cut and started bleeding. Linzy did apologize, but it felt very dismissive. We also disagreed about the nail shape I requested--she insisted I was wrong, only to later admit she misunderstood what a ballerina shape was. This was after she kept on saying that what I wanted was a coffin shape, and speaking about me to her co workers. I don't understand how you can work at a nail salon and not know the difference between a ballerina shape and a coffin shape. It was annoying that I had to educate her, and received poor treatment because she was ignorant. I think it's so very important to be a kind person. We are all human beings. Kindness matters. It's important to be a good person. God is watching us all. Treat people with kindness. I think it's important to have a good soul. I do feel as though Linzy did not treat me with kindness. It was disheartening to be treated that way. I'll remember this moment, and be sure to always treat others with more kindness, so I never make them feel the way Linzy made me feel. At one point, I used a translator app because I noticed the staff speaking in another language. It was disappointing to hear negative comments, especially as I had hoped for a positive experience and planned to tip generously. I recommend bringing a translator app if you're concerned about communication or want to understand what's being said around you. Linzy and Taylor would compliment my natural hair then smirk and exchange giggles with each other. I felt like they were mocking me. I pray I never have hatred in my heart. I will never treat another human being like that. I don't understand that type of behavior. I would never treat someone else like that. I would feel awful for being cruel. God is watching you. Black skin is not a curse. Black skin is not a sin. Black people deserve to be treated like human beings, because we are human beings. I felt bad for them to be honest. I pray to never be like that. It's upsetting because I really WANTED to tip Taylor. Since she's a pregnant woman working in a nail salon, and I noticed she wasn't wearing a ring. I really wanted to tip her, I don't feel like any pregnant woman should have to work in a nail salon. My heart goes out to her. I feel so bad for her. Taylor seemed kind at heart, but I was disappointed in the way it seemed like she let others influence her behavior toward me. I genuinely do think deep down she is a good person, I hope she doesn't allow negative people to bring her down to a low level. She left bubbles in my nails after doing my ombre, which was frustrating. Lastly, but most importantly, as a woman of color, I did not feel welcomed or respected here. this is the worst nail salon I have been to - I have been getting my nails done my entire life and regularly for over half a decade. I asked him to make them the length before grow out, but instead he cut them incredibly short because he didn't ask the shape I wanted previous to chopping. He said he wanted to do a full set to fix it and I told him I didn't have time. He said he was going to fix them for now and I could come back and he would do them. The owner got on the phone and started talking on speakerphone about the incident with multiple customer sitting around in English not knowing she was on speaker phone. So not only do my nails look like absolute garbage, but I was shamed on speaker phone after telling him I just wanted to finish my nails and pay. I will never go there again and I encourage you to find another salon. I stopped in to get a pedicure with my sister. We made our late afternoon appointments at noon and were able to get in no problem. The space is nice! Made a Thursday morning appointment to take my niece for her first real manicure. They charged $20 to paint her nails, that's it. Then she had to sit there for another 20 minutes waiting for my nails to be done, watching them soak, massage and do all the things we talked about happening at the salon to her mom and aunt. Overall the women working there seemed annoyed we didn't want gel and that we didn't let them bulldoze us into getting gel. This is my third time visiting MT nails in Woodbury. It's a really nice place in the inside. My favorite part is the massage chairs. It's very clean and the nail techs are friendly. However, the pricing seems to be inconsistent, I've been charged both high and low for basic gel nail pedicures (the only service that I have been going to MT nails for). Yesterday, I made an appointment to get my toes done and there was a bit of a wait because there were lots of people getting their nails done. Understandable, I can wait. I then get my toes done and I leave the place and realize one of my toes wasn't even fully painted... uhmmmmm what???? If you look closely it's actually laughable. Nail techs there need to do better if you're going to charge $50+ for a BASIC gel pedicure. If I looked closer at the salon I would have had the tech fix it immediately. See photos below... Lovely decor! However, the way I was treated today I will never go back. The nail technician that did my pedicure was extremely rude - she would throw back my foot when she was done working with it and it went on and on throughout the pedicure. It was not enjoyable. As my gel was done being under the light she was annoyed with me and said you curled your toes.. When I went to pay the owner took my name, told me to swipe my card and walked away. I got my lashes done and the NEXT DAY, all of them have fallen out. I didn't sleep on my face. I avoided water. My eyes are clearly still burning from the lash glue. Almost all my lashes have fallen out. I was crying and saying my eyes are burning during the appointment and thought maybe it was just because it was my first time. But no, eyes are still red and burning. This is ridiculous and uncomfortable for the amount they charge. My eyes are itches from the lashes being on my skin and heavy. Shop was nice. I was a walk in and got in right away for a pedicure. The nail tech didn't use a liner in the bowls like others techs were using. I didn't see where she got her tools but saw that she didn't clean anything and brought it to the next customer. There was an upcharge for removing gel polish which I have never had before. Sped through the pedicure, then didn't put a top coat on as she had another client waiting. Wiped the oil off my legs and feet and then left them wet and told me I was done. Absolutely horrible customer service! MT Nails lost my business - I will never go back. I have been going to MT Nails every 3-4 weeks for 2+ years now. I spend $60-70 every time I am there and have been a good, easy going customer over the years. I was in last week for a Dipping Powder Manicure and a Deluxe Pedicure (spent $100+). I accidentally left my Stanley water bottle on the front desk. I realized this shortly after I had left and called the salon within 10 minutes of leaving to ensure they would hang on to it for me and keep it in a safe place until I could pick it up. I was out of town the rest of that week and was not able to get there over the weekend. I called the salon on Tuesday afternoon and apologized for not stopping in yet. I let them know I would stop in Wednesday afternoon. I also asked that they confirm they still had it - which they did. They told me it was still there and it was no problem that I had not been by to pick it up yet. I stopped in Wednesday after I got off work. When greeted by Melody (who from my understanding is the owner of this salon) I mentioned I was just stopping in to pick up the water bottle I had left and previously called about. She was immediately dismissive and said, "We put things like that over by the door". I walked over by where she said and noticed it was not there. I circled back with Melody and mentioned I did not see it. At this time I also asked why they would have left it out by the door in the waiting area where customers sit and are constantly coming and going. Why wouldn't they have put it somewhere more secure? I mentioned putting it in the back room or under the front desk - her reply was "we don't have room". This to me seems absolutely ridiculous. She continued being rude and short, barely even giving me the time of day. It was very apparent she did not care and was not going to be helpful. I asked if it would have been moved or put somewhere else and if she could look around or check with her staff. She seemed annoyed that I was asking for additional help but got up anyways, walked around for maybe 10-15 seconds and then sat back down reiterating that they would have put it by the door. She then said, "You called last week - it was here last week" to which I responded, "Yes, I did call last week but I also called last night and someone told me that it was still here". I mentioned I knew she was the owner, I had been a loyal customer for several years and I felt like I was receiving very poor customer service. She said, "What do you want me to do?". I said "Idk I guess replace it" - she responded by saying, "No we wont do that". At this point it was clear the water bottle was gone and she was not going to be helpful. I told her that she had lost my business and I would never be back to which she replied "okay, that's fine". As I was walking out another customer who overheard the exchange came to my car and mentioned she was appalled by how I was treated by the salon and Melody (the owner). She mentioned she was not surprised but that she could not believe how they handled the situation and how rude Melody (the owner) was to me. She said she thought I was very reasonable and fair about the situation and that the lack of customer service and common courtesy was appalling. At the end of the day I realize the salon cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items but based on the circumstances of this situation I do feel as though the salon is somewhat responsible. I feel as though it was the responsibility of the salon to ensure the water bottle was at the very least moved to a secure spot and would not be mistakenly picked up or stolen by another customer. I am less concerned with a $50 water bottle and more concerned with the principal of the situation and the horrible way I was treated. I am in sales and a large portion of my job deals with customer service and I can't imagine ever treating someone this way or handling a situation like this. If Melody would have made any effort to right the situation (discount off my next service, gift card, complimentary pedicure, even given a genuine and sincere apology) I would have been agreeable and continued to give this salon my business but the blatant disregard and care for my business and money is the reason I will never return. I don't regularly see Melody for my nails but while at the salon over the years I have overheard her be very rude, short, dismissive, aggressive and disrespectful to other customers. I would urge anyone looking for a nail salon to look elsewhere! Give your business to someone who appreciates it! Place was nice but the nail tech didn't make any conversation with me and wouldn't let me get what I wanted to get for my nails. I wanted a plain color because I didn't want to pay extra for a design and she wouldn't let me get a plain color and she was saying it was boring and not "fun". When she was doing the nail length I wanted short nails but again she didn't let me get the length I wanted. She said "no because when I file it'll get shorter" so I said okay because thought they knew what they were doing. They didn't do the right design I wanted and at the very end she made me pay extra for the design I didn't want and she made me pay extra for the "long" nails. Made an appointment that I had to reschedule and even then I was late ‍ needless to say, they were still able to take me and were SUPER accommodating. Upon entering, you were asked to go to the sink area and wash your hands. The staff were all wearing masks. I got a mani and pedi and USUALLY this takes forever at other places but NOT AT MT! They were very efficient, one technician did my pedi while the other did my mani. BOTH were excellent. The technician who did my mani was talkative and spoke fluent English. She explained what she was doing (not because I didn't know--I've gotten thousands of mani/pedis, she was simply being kind and keeping me in the loop). As I was getting my nails done, I saw that they also did eyelash lifts and tints (this was not listed as a service on yelp so it mustve been a new added service). I inquired and they were able to get me in as soon as I was done with my nails. As I was laying down, the technician doing my lashes (who is also the owner BTW) convinced me to get extensions instead and to also touch up my microbladed eyebrows. Needless to say, I fell asleep on the bed and when I woke up, everything was perfect. I feel terrible that I didn't get her name but she was soooo talented and my eyebrows look fantastic!! My eyelashes were longer than my liking but.. It's whatever. We weren't going to know how it was going to turn out. All of this took longer than my initial appointment and all the other technicians had already left for the day but my technician stayed and completed my services and I NEVER felt like she was rushed. The facility was white and clean and just impeccable. The service and staff were sooo friendly and talented. I noticed the technicians wear disposable gloves and do not wash hands or change them between people. my nail tech ground the nails off of the lady next to me then proceeded to put lotion on her hands and lotion and massage mine with the other lady's nail dust on her hands. it mixed with the lotion and was all over my hands. I would have complained but you are on like an assembly line with no room between customer. I didnt want to offend the other lady. I felt violated. now I need a fill and have to find a new salon. and I will loose all of my points. If you decide to go here at least make sure they are using proper infection control. read more

I tried this fairly new salon in Woodbury today because my previous salon was under new ownership and service has not been as good as previous. Sorry to say that I was disappointed by the service I received at this new salon. I had an appointment for two Manicures/pedicures at 11 o'clock but they apparently did not have enough staff to help both of us. We were both set up at the pedicure station but I waited over 30 minutes before anyone arrived to start my pedicure. My niece was done with her services before my pedicure was completed. Not exactly my idea of a fun girl's day if we're not even near each other when our work was being done. Since I had an appointment, they should have staffed accordingly. I have a feeling that they took a walk in and that was the reason for not being staffed appropriately. That is bad business practice as far as I'm concerned. My niece wanted her toenails and fingernails painted the same color but wanted her finger nails in gel polish and her toes in regular polish. The gal had no idea how to find polish that matched even though I've never had any problems with this at other salons. The salon appeared clean however the water for our pedicures was lukewarm at best. Not very appealing on a cold Minnesota day! Needless to say, I will be searching for another nail salon.
