Best ski hill in SE Michigan! This gem of a ski hill will not disappoint, great staff, well organized and great views from the chairs. Even Magic Carpets for the kids and beginning skiers.

My husband and I decided to sign up for skiing lessons because we had very little ski experience prior to visiting Mount Holly and we are so happy that we did. Our instructor Mark was so patient and knowledgeable- we learned so much. We started afraid of the bunny hill and by end of the lesson we were going down all kinds of hills- we had a fantastic time.

So I debated on weather I should give holly 3 or 4 stars.. If it was in any location with mountains besides SE Michigan, it would be getting 3 stars, but because it is the best mountain in SE Michigan, it gets 4 stars from me. Even though Mt. Holly is a further drive and a bit more expensive than Brighton, I still would prefer to go here any day.. Holly is a much different type of Mountain than Brighton is because: -It has longer runs; it takes a good amount of time to make it to the bottom of the slopes which is great cus no one wants short runs! -The trails have some curves and winds to them which actually makes them feel more like trails -There's lots of trees which is really great and makes it feel like a real mountain -Even when it's super windy out, the trees block the wind so it's not as harsh on the skier/boarder -the atmosphere in the lodge is very homey and cozy which I love -I find that the people at the mountain are friendlier whether we're talking about staff or skiers/riders All these things are problems that Mount Brighton has.. And with that being said, Holly has lots of advantages over Brighton. The reason I'm comparing these two mountains is because I feel that they are competitors. I'd choose Holly over Brighton any day and would recommend Holly to people that I like. And for the people that I don't like, they should go to Brighton :) lol. Keep Calm & Snowboard On

I don't have much skiing experience, but this place was perfect for our small group still learning.

He showed us the basics and knew we had a little bit of experience before (over 12 years for me) but we wanted to start at the beginning. After we got the basics down, we were heading up the bunny hill. It was scary at first, but having coach Tim in front showing us what to do, made me feel confident. Before I knew it I was going down the blue hill! We had gone down probably 5 times at this point and we had to check out hr après ski life. We ordered a drink and the bartender had me turns onto a 007! It was a perfect light and flavorful drink! I loved their featured menu but man that drink was delicious. Before we fully warmed back up we were back in the slopes. After a few more times down and my friend was trying out her tricks, we had worked up an appetite. We went down to the food area and we ordered at the window. I asked the gentlemen behind the order window and he said the while was a must try. So we ordered the fries and chili and man was he right. The chili was AMAZING! All the food was delicious. It reminded me of a good bar food menu. The place has a ton of space for everyone and the slopes and lifts themselves were clean and beautiful. It's a great place to start learning or for the more advanced skier/boarder. Amazing place! If you're coming do lessons, ask for coach Tom!
