I can honestly say there hasn't been a visit I've made there where I haven't found a bargain, either a book worth nabbing, clothing (I found a faux leather jacket I'd been eyeing off at Myer for $90 about a month before hand, brand new, for less than $10 once) or some fascinating ornament or kitchen gadget - this place is one of those veritable treasure trove. The girls love fossicking through the childrens section, and both they and my wife have picked up pre-loved jewelery perfect for their styles. This is a must visit for us when we're at Victor - thoroughly recommended.

The prices are good, too, which is always nice to see. On a recent visit I stumbled across a lonely sprinkler on the shelf - less than $10 but it had a multitude of patterns you could set it to, and proudly proclaimed both Australian made and a years warranty. I grabbed it to use at the van down at Victor, and would love a second one for home but haven't found one up here in the metro area - it's little things like this that you'll find here that make it worth wandering through and searching the shelves. There's a full building store here too, which can be quite convenient for a weekend project. There isn't a huge stock of items, but there is a huge range - and the staff would have to be the friendliest and most helpful people in any hardware store I've been to. Fun to shop at. :)

You know those moments where you, a little too enthusiastically, chop up the food on your plate and scrape all the different ingredients onto one fork so you get the most of the combination of flavours in one scoff? No? Well toffy apple you should do it one time, and if you do, then do it here. My Green Envy breakfast was full of farm fresh poached eggs, crisp, but not crunchy, english muffins, topped with ripe avocado, spinach and pesto and drizzled with a sweet and sour vinegar beetroot sauce. I even had to interrupt my lovely morning coffee up until the moment I'd finished wiping up the left over sauce and tomato chutney with my english muffin. Green Room prides itself on sourcing between 70-90% of its produce locally and all organically. And despite the low price tag of breakfast ($16), you can tell in every bite that the food you're putting in your belly is organic and made with a view to keep you healthy and happy. The service wasn't spectacular from the girl behind the counter on the day but I don't care. I'm still beaming from my breakfast on their balcony in the sun!

A local haunt and Willunga gem this is a true vego delight. The bike brigade were also out in full force (always a good sign if the Old Men In Lycra have adopted) on the Saturday we were there. A delightful hippy haven welcoming everyone - vego or not. All day breakfasts, vego burgers, delish soups and gorgeous sweet treats are highlights. Meals are very generous and excellent value. Creativity abounds - fancy a chocolate avocado tart anyone? There is a gallery exhibiting local artists , books for sale, teas, and a small range of organic lines including skin care. There are newspapers, a community noticeboard, local mags and also a play area for kids and a very large backyard come outdoor eating area if the kids turn completely feral. Or park yourself on the cosy front deck and watch the Willunga community go by. On out most recent visit we indulged in home made brownies and fabulous coffee. The Green Room is a point of difference in the southern vales offering a very relaxed and welcoming alternative to the gourmet niche cafes in the area.

The selection of DVDs was very good, especially considering the limited space to keep them all in. We found what we wanted straightaway and were able to sign up for a 'holiday rental' meaning we could basically pick our own due date and didn't have to set up a permanent account. The lady behind the counter (whom I suspect might've been the owner) was very friendly and accommodating.

I'm really torn with rating this Seaford Shopping Centre, so much of the centre definitely…read morequalifies at 'Meh' but there are also some really great local stores that are quite fantastic. So 3 Stars seems a nice medium. The Seaford Shopping Centre underwent a huge change a few years back, and one of the best things about the upgrade was the introduction of Big W. The amount of times this store has saved my life (a possible over-exaggeration)! When you need cables, or batteries, or a book, or a DVD, or really anything. Before the change the centre was good for groceries and a magazine or two. The upgrade also bought a whole load of new stores, but most barely rate a second look. Fly is great for buying teens surf clothes, but most other stores are peddling 'country fashions' that I'm sure my nan would buy. The highlights can pretty much all be found in the old section of the centre. These include Seaford Gourmet Butchers, TC's Fruit & Veg, Barossa Fine Foods, Seafood Chest, and the Newsagencies. Some of these have been around for years, while others are new additions. But if you skip Woolies and buy from the smaller guys you can get some great produce. I don't really look forward to coming here, but I can't deny that while most of the centre is fairly pointless, there are some great stores.
