City of Lansing - February 18, 2023 Supporting those affected by tragedy of Michigan State University

    City of Lansing

Born and graduated from Eastern High. Bought 2 houses here the city. 2001 900 in taxes. 2022 3000…read morein taxes. I believe the city roads are the same from 2001 to 2024! Sad, more interested in putting new light poles in than fixing the city roads! My 2013 can't handle the pot holes and all the rutts in the roads. They're terrible!!

What do you call it when we both dress up like Lance Bass and try to dance like him?…read more Lance-ing! We're probably talking about my favourite city in all of Michigan which I never thought I would be saying - especially considering that it's like an industrial and run down type of depressing 1970s Place, in parts. So for that reason I was expecting to not like it. And East Lansing is the part of town that everybody goes to and it's like, literally, a separate city which is really well kept and really well policed (too much so) and has an amazing college and lots of fancy stuff and nice roads and fancy hotels and everything. But over here is the real working class Lansing and the real Lansing happens to have some absolutely spectacular food and that's why I love it so much. In fact some of the restaurants I have had in Lansing are some of the best food I've had in all of Michigan. They have Detroit standard food and possibly an even better ratio of perfect food compared to Detroit. So it's pretty awesome whichever way you look at it. And here's a list of the places that I highly recommend you eat when you are in Lansing. - Choupli for some of the best Kofte Kebab and Middle Eastern food anywhere - Capital City BBQ for a crazy good, big Banh Mi that's very different - Momo over in Okemos is the best Boba Tea not only in Michigan, but in the whole region Lansing is the capital city of Michigan and it also has some surprisingly good food options that I really appreciated. Especially Choupli which is the best Middle Eastern food I've had in all of Michigan and possibly in the whole Great Lakes region! And the other items I mentioned, especially the best Boba Tea in all of the Great Lakes at the wonderful Momo near MSU. So you have some real treats around here and it's well worth exploring. It's a little bit of an old-school 1970s backwards town but then many of these Great Lakes and Northeastern cities are because time has left them behind. For a more modern slant on Lansing cross over into East Lansing where you will find Michigan State University and lots of kids. The city seems to be divided between town and gown if you like to quote Oxford England. This half is the town. So go to town on it already.
