Review One thing…read morethat has been bothering us for almost a year is the lack of new growth with our 2 sago palms due to the aggressive frond defoliation done by Leo (Owner) and (his son) Oscar. One saga palm is over 50 years old and the other is approximately 25 years old. Both sago palms have been through hard weather and freeze then recovered with nice new growth. However, there has been zero new growth. Mistakes Made Defoliating Sago Plants * Removing all the fronds from a sago palm seriously harmed the palms. * The sago palms lost the ability to photosynthesize, so they can't produce food. * No new fronds for 11+ months Mulching Done Wrong * Doing mulch wrong can absolutely kill plants. * The most common mistake is "volcano mulching" piling mulch against tree trunks or plant stems--which traps moisture, rots the bark, and invites pests. My husband noticed this volcano-like mounds around both sago palms. No Solutions Offered * Email sent with photos * Phone calls made * One phone call to Stanley seemed promising then radio silence. * No offer for replacement * No offer to remove the sago palms. * Safe Disposal Warning * Extreme Toxicity: Sago palms contain cycasin, a potent toxin that is deadly to dogs, cats, and horses. * Safe Handling: Wear heavy work gloves and long sleeves. We had Darwin give an estimate for some drainage pipes. We said we needed drainage baisins below the foundation along one side of the house to keep water from leaking into the house, and a drainage pipe snaking along another side of the house to remove water from our back patio. We showed Darwin the concrete that needed to be cut up, and the foundation that we needed drainage basins below. Darwin said he could do the job for $5000. After a day or two of work, our lawn was all dug up and the concrete was cur up, pipes were laid down, and Darwin said he needed more money. We went to inspect the work. The drainage basins were above the foundation and therefore not working to keep water out of the wall. Darwin said for him, it would be better to fill the weepholes in the brick wall with concrete. We told him not to do that because it will cause the wall to retain water. We wanted the drainage basins below the foundation like we had discussed. We came back a couple hours later and Darwin had filled our weepholes with concrete. We inspected more of the work. The pipes were not consistently sloped in the direction of the drainage. They just plopped in the pipes and didn't bother to level or slope them at all. There is standing water at the various low points of the "drainage" pipe which does not drain. Darwin said this is fine and kept asking for more money. We paid him $2500 because we felt bad for his guys, but we were clear we needed the job done correctly, the way we had originally discussed. Properly sloped drainage and basins below the foundation. We even said we would be willing to go over budget if Darwin would promise to do the work properly as originally discussed. Darwin refused to commit to doing the work properly so we fired him. We found another drainage specialist who confirmed that Darwin's work was shoddy and actually so bad that it makes our drainage worse everywhere he worked. I would have been happy to never hear from Darwin again and not post this review, but Darwin is now harassing and threatening my fiance trying to get $6500 out of us for this unfinished, worse-than-nothing job. "Pipe slope down" is literally the first thing to know about drainage, and Darwin doesn't know it.

It matched exactly what we discussed during our visit at the house and really brought our vision to life (and they were reasonably priced compared to all the other quotes we received). They helped us pick out a great tree for the front yard and did an excellent job with the planting. They also installed a whole new front flower bed (with trees, shrubs, and decorative rock), removed the old vines on the back fence, and handled tree maintenance quickly and efficiently. As a bonus, they were able to offer sprinkler system services and run water from an existing line over to the new tree and get the system back to functioning which should make everything seamless with the constant watering schedule needed on the beginning. The only hiccup was that the pool was left a complete mess after removing the vines next to it the first day. However, we messaged Noe (the lead) and he came out that same night to make it right. We really appreciated how quickly they addressed the issue. The only delay in the entire project was with the faux vines that were supposed to be replacing the live ones -- but that wasn't their fault. The supplier only shipped half the order. They were professional about it and didn't request the remaining payment until the final portion was completed and they came back and completed it when promised. Overall, I would highly recommend for anyone needing any type of landscaping done.

On the day of work, we came home and found work incomplete. Grass in greenhouse not cut. Small tree/bush at mailbox not trimmed at all. Very disappointing. Cannot recommend them. The upsetting part is we talked about what is to be done in person. and the guy agreed to the work and offered his quote. And we agreed to his quote and paid in full. Work performed did not meet our expectation. They called me next day and offered to complete work and fix. They did so as promised. Small hedge trimmed. and grass cut down.
