The large smokers caught our attention as we were passing by, with smoke billowing out--and the aroma of delicious smoked meat made us turn around and stop in. They were so nice and helpful with the food choices, and a special touch was the cook presenting the food to us before bagging the boxes for us to go. He was also very helpful in suggesting a cool (and apparently little known) picnic spot by the river! Perfect! I can't wait to go back! If you love BBQ, this place is the real deal.

Extraordinary! Everything we ordered was absolutely perfect. This is truly an authentic…read moreMediterranean restaurant with the perfect choices of dinner options. We started the evening scouring the menu for tonight's choices and settled on pierogies and falafel for an appetizer. The warm pierogies with potato and cheese filling had the right amount of creamy texture with the perfect crunch. The falafel with tahini and garlic sauce completed the appetizer. I saved some of the tahini sauce to have with the falafel wrap. The pita bread filled with falafel and veggies, accompanied by a side of tahini sauce, was the perfect balance for an evening meal. I noticed quite a few people coming in for dessert, which included the cheesecake. Admittedly, I was too full to enjoy the cheesecake at the restaurant, so I ordered a baklava cheesecake to go. It was amazing! The crunchiness of the sweet baklava paired with the cheesecake is a perfect balance to the tanginess of the cheesecake. The quality of ingredients and flavors used are perfect in every dish. The selection of food choices is hand-selected and crafted to perfection. Phenomenal restaurant! I felt like I was back in the Mediterranean enjoying a great evening meal.

**April 2025: Weekday Afternoon Visit**…read more My friend and I were in the area and wanted a quick lunch before we hit the road again. With the high reviews we thought we'd check out Swiftwater Cafe. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a large building complex (maybe apartments?), and there were many locals dinning in. The space looked very homey and the tables were lined with green and white checkered tablecloths. There's a big chalk board with breakfast and lunch items and my friend and I decided on the following: Lunch -Italian Grilled Cheese $8.06 - This was a fantastic vegetarian sandwich. There was a lot of flavor and it the texture of all the ingredients worked together. I would get this again. -Tomato Basil Soup $4.16 and Chili $4.16: Standard soups -Pepperoni Roll $4.16 - I was told that this was West Virginia's state food so naturally we had to try it out. It was tasty and I'm glad that this restaurant put in cheese, but I kind of wished there were a little bit more. -Chef Salad $9.88: This salad had a good assortment of ingredients and gave me the much needed vegetables that I had been lacking on this roadtrip. Service The host was very quick and polite. Patrons would pick up their orders at the counter when it's ready. Summary It was a nice local joint and I enjoyed all the outdoor photos around the cafeteria.

We arrived at Ridge View BBQ right at noon and the place was packed. The line moved quickly and there was plenty of seating despite the busy time. My wife order the pork platter which included a pulled pork sandwich and choice of two sides. (Mac and cheese and baked beans which she got for me). I order a simple pulled pork sandwich. The pork at Ridge View was pretty good but different from most bbq pork we've ordered. Here the pork is cooked or simmered with a house sauce already added and served that way. The result was a moister than usual but very tasty pork sandwich. We both agreed, different but not worse. The sides were very good. Staff was overly friendly (sort of characteristic in West Virginia-people are super nice) and prices were very reasonable. Would definitely come back.

I was a little taken back, but decided to call back as requested. I ordered lunch for 25 people for a company quarterly meeting. He took my name, address, meeting location... Said he would call on the morning of the meeting to confirm and get my credit card information. At 10:40 I called to confirm the order. He said I have nothing going out today. He asked who I talked to, I advised David, he said well that's me and I must have missed it. I asked what they could do, because I have a meeting room full of people, and he replied with nothing. He did not offer to correct this in any way or make any offers to fix his mistake. We ordered last minute from Jimmy Johns, and they were very accommodating for a last minute large order...
