This was $10 from 5/4/25

This is a PSA for the strawberry picking schedule. When I called the business a couple weeks ago, I was quoted $10 a bucket on picking strawberries. Upon arrival to the farm yesterday morning, we reported to the stand to pay and was handed a clamshell container (kind you find in grocery stores). Cost was $10 for each plastic container to fill with strawberries up to being able to close the container lid (no overfill). I saw frustrated people walk to their vehicles in the parking lot holding plastic containers. There was a large patch of plants to choose from, but it's the end of the strawberry season. Most berries were mushy, decimated by bugs, and hard to find enough to make a full clamshell container. There's a "no refund" sign at the stand, so you enter at your own risk and deal with what's left. We made a two-hour round trip for a plastic container. The place is probably better at the beginning of the season (early April) to pick strawberries, but call them about what the container-policy is before you plan to visit.

Strawberries that molded within 48 hours of picking

$10 for a bucket. We shouldn't have but we drove all the way there and couldn't go back and ruin the day for the kids. Within 48 hours every single strawberry had mold or was rotten. Never again. Also, it took forever to pick the bucket because they're so over picked. Didn't really matter though because the woman at the counter told us we "picked too many" and took off all the berries in the bucket until it was level. Buyer beware or sneak your bucket out the door.

I was very curious about this place after I saw some pics online and I thought my little guy ( his 2) would enjoy picking strawberries. I went on their website and noticed you couldn't book a time slot- so I guess you just show up. The drive is about an hour a way or so depending on traffic . There are 2 parking lots - 1 right by the strawberry farm and one slightly further away that requires you to walk on a small muddy path ( yes thank goodness for rain boots). Upon entering I noticed there were no mask policy. The young ladies taking your cash upfront had no masks on either. I didn't see a credit card machine- so thank goodness I had some cash. They have small buckets for $10 and slightly bigger ones for $15. They also have double crates for $20 I think. We decided on a big bucket and ahead we went to pick strawberries. Even though it was pretty full- I don't think I crossed paths with loads of people while picking. There are loads of strawberry patches to choose from. However. Finding really good ones can take a while. Lots of bending and looking. Also after a big rain storm- the strawberries might have bruised a lot. They have a really cute kids play area but it's completely unusable after a storm. Sadly! However they have like an open barn with kids tractors and things which my little guy loved. The toilets are clean but only one toilet has a door. The other curtain? Which is very impractical especially as the wind blows it open. Like hello world- see my do my business. Not sure why they wouldn't just add a door. They also have a little shop we get you can buy strawberries ( already picked) , jam. Strawberry short cake and strawberry smoothie. They also have little picnic tables. While it was a nice activity - its not so great going after it rained a lot. Picture walking on very very large muddy puddles. Also the strawberries - well the good ones are better hard to find. Maybe we will try again when the weather gets better and then at least my little guy can enjoy the play area too.

I went to Mrs. Heather's strawberry farm this past weekend and had a good time. I took my nieces and nephew. The prices were reasonable. When you walk in you're asked which container you'd like for your strawberries. The bigger the container, the more you pay. Picking our own strawberries was a fun experience. There were little attractions and playground equipment for smaller kids. There were some calves for the kids to pet too. There offered food items to buy. They served jam, water, smoothies, and chocolate covered strawberries. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is that I wish this place served more food. We had a pretty long ride to and from New Orleans so it would've been nice to be able to get some snacks to hold us over.

We had a blast. We called ahead to see if they were open and they said they were and had plenty of berries. They warned us that we may want to wear rain boots due to recent heavy rain in the area. We took the whole family, but they only charge you for what you pick (not by the person) by the half flat and flat. If you would rather not pick, flats are available for purchase. After picking a flat of strawberries, the kids enjoyed feeding animals, playing on the playground, and the kids zipline.

So worth the drive from wherever you are. The strawberry patch is a load of fun for kids and adults. Picking strawberries to take home while snacking on ones in the moment is great. They have lots of games and contraptions for the kids for after the picking is done. If you can grab a 10 pack of chocolate covered berries for only $5 before you head out too!

Big balloon thing coming from the ground to jump on

Today I came for the third time in as many years and I'm left with the same magical feeling I got from my very first visit. If I had my choice, this would be the only way j would buy my strawberries. How awesome is it to be able to walk through fields of strawberries and have your choice of which ones to pick and which ones to leave? The kids also really enjoy picking out their strawberries. After picking the kids will be able to enjoy quite a few activities. There's swings, little bikes, water races, zip lines, and a huge balloon looking thinking that comes off the ground that they can jump on. It's truly a ton of fun. Not only can you pick your strawberries but you can also purchase strawberries that are already picked (saves you a hassle especially if you don't have a little one that would like to do it), chocolate covered strawberries (10 for $5 can't be beat), strawberry jam, drinks, and snacks for the kids. You can also host birthday parties here. I had such a great time here I hope to get back before the end of the season!

Perfect place to let the kids roam, eat delicious strawberries and soak in some sun. The boys had a great time and we loaded up. Lots of strawberries and a couple different fields to pick from. Overall, a great experience and a fun way to start spring/summer.

They also host other events like- a berry bash, summer camp, farmer trade day, pancakes and pjs, and ties and tiaras. I visited for Halloween in 2018 when my son was about 10 months old and had a great day! They had a pumpkin patch, face painting, pumpkin carving, a costume contest, a corn maze, a petting zoo, a jumping area for the older kids, and so much more to see! Then staff were friendly and there was plenty of parking. They also have an elegant space for weddings/receptions. It is truly an enjoyable experience for the entire family.

When we got there, there was plenty of parking and very easy to find (thanks to signs along the way). Everything was organized from the get go. Several other schools were there, but they had plenty of workers to keep things running smoothly. I wanted to share their mission statement I found on the website because I agree they are doing this: "Mission Statement To provide an educational, "hands on" learning adventure for families and organizations of all ages. To spread the love of the land and animals to all our guests both big and small, and instill the importance of keeping the American Agricultural values alive. To provide a professional, clean environment with emphasis on safety and dignity for both our guests and our animals." Liuzza was definitely hands on and educational. I especially loved all the fun facts signs around, and in general the setup was simple with chalkboard and burlap but so cute and creative. Definitely knew we were at a farm, but it was just more cute than rough and rigid. The animals seemed happy, the strawberries were delicious and plentiful for the picking! I loved the bus tour and mule-drawn trailer ride but could have honestly loved if they had told us more about the land and the history. Such a beautiful and well kept up place though! I was so surprised to see that they do weddings here! A beautiful outdoor area was set up for a wedding and there's the most precious, little chapel! Definitely a romantic setting for a wedding!! I would just love to be a guest for one here! I hope to be able to return on the open to the public days or even a special occasion like their Easter egg hunt. We were there for probably only 3 hours but definitely could have stayed longer. We fed goats, saw a zebra eating among all the horses, saw cows, an alpaca, a sheep, geese, but we managed to miss the pigs and bunnies. Must go back for those! The kids went crazy over the awesome slide built into a hill and the big jumpy thing (don't know what those are called lol). We definitely must return and so should you!!

I made our reservations online, easy peasy. The drive took about 45 minutes from New Orleans and it was easy to find with GPS. There is plenty of places to park, buckets are provided and they start promptly at 8:00am. If you want blackberries, arrive early! Blueberries are plentiful! We had 2 adults, a 12 year old and a 2 year old. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back 2 weeks later. We picked for about 2 hours, took a break and had a picnic at one of the picnic tables provided. We fed horses with biscuits that the farm has on hand, for free. Then we picked for a little longer. While there, we genuinely felt welcome by the owner and his daughter who were sweet and happy to share their bounty. We took home blackberries, zucchini, peppers, beans, honey, a ton of blueberries and priceless memories. We look forward to next year!

So let me tell you a story…read more When I was growing up there were railroad tracks not far from where I lived. During the summer my sisters and I would go on the tracks and spend hours picking blackberries. We'd go home with tons of them and fingers stained black from the juice. After rinsing them off we'd sprinkle sugar on them and devour them. They were so delicious that we'd usually do it all again the next day. Blackberries are still my favorite of all the berries. There is no way in hell I'd let my children go walking up and down railroad tracks now that I'm a parent (what was our mother thinking!?) but there's a special place that I can take them where they can make their own memories. Ridemore Berry Farm is a pick your own farm in Covington. They have blackberries and blueberries to pick during berry season which is mid May to the beginning of July. There's also a nice little area to have a picnic if you'd like to bring lunch when you visit. You should probably arrive early because my sisters and I might beat you to it and pick all of those yummy blackberries. Seriously. All is fair in love and blackberry picking!

For Memorial Day Weekend, a couple of friends invited me to pick blueberries!…read more I hadn't been picking for a while, and I thoroughly enjoy bringing home a bounty of fruit. I had a great time, but definitely have a few tips for this pick-your-own experience. First off, call the number to check the hours or if things are good to go that day! Our friend called, and apparently they had just opened the season up the Friday before. Use your navigation. It's a ways out there. Bring water or your favorite canned wine like your good pal, Morgan. It get's hot and there aren't a whole lot of options for hydration. You should also bring a ice chest to put all your blueberries in and said cold beverages. Make sure to wear shoes and socks, and a hat is suggested! When you get there, you're basically just pulling up to a house. Go to the left of the driveway and park next to the second shed. Go in the shed (and yes, I may have said this is how the beginning of a horror movie starts at least 100 times). In the shed you'll find chairs, buckets, bug spray and instructions on what to do. COVER your body in the bug spray. As I learned from experience, it is best to spray yourself with the bug spray outside of the shed since it's not the largest of sheds. Make sure to get your ankles and any exposed skin. Pick up one pail per person. We put extra bags and zipties in our bucket under our first bag. It's $10/bucket. I would suggest bringing a check, but I believe he will also take cash. This ain't no Venmo/Paypal-type of joint. Then drive down to the blueberry bushes! The road is a little precarious so just take your time. We were the one and only folks there for most the time we were there, and a nice shower came through to clean the blueberries before we started picking. Very glad I wore tennis shoes and SHOULD'VE put on socks since me and a gang of fire ants had a little tussle. But other than that, the pickins were GREAT. Bushes filled with blueberries that weren't at all bitter, and not overly sweet. We each filled two gallon bags to take home! We did hear gunshots off in the distance, but remember you're in Picayune, Mississippi and it's probably folks hunting or shooting skeet, so don't freak out. The owner came out to greet us when we first arrived, and then came out again to the bushes to check on us, which is very much appreciated. I love the whole honor system way of doing business, and we left a nice check from all of us in his little shed. Also, lagniappe, there were a handful of kittens roaming around the sheds and a rando cat sprinting across the field at one point if you're into wildlife encounters.
