My apartment complex hosted this food truck the other day and I figured I would try it out because I hadn't had comfort food in a while. When I first walked up to the truck, I saw the menu and was surprised by what the prices were. 12 dollars for chicken tenders, 10-12 dollars for waffles, 8 dollars for wings, and even 5 dollars for their special "ghetto seasoning." But I figured what the heck, I'll support a small business and pay a bit more for what I assumed was going to be good food considering their rating on Yelp. I ordered their chicken and waffles and when I was handed the food, I honestly thought it was a joke. I paid 22 dollars to a not so happy cashier for 4 chicken wings, 1 small waffle, and 1 small packet of syrup. This portion could be the same size as what you would get in a kids meal. And the worst part was that the wings tasted like wings you could get from WingStop. I honestly was disappointed because I was looking forward to having some tasty comfort food. I really hope in the future they adjust their prices to match the quality of their food. I would avoid unless you're looking for overpriced, average food.

Mr. wonderfuls chicken and waffles came to my apartment complex for a food truck night. I was so excited to have some southern fried chicken but this was disappointing. Upon opening the box, I only had four small chicken wings and a pile of fries for $20... I was expecting much more. I was hoping that the meal would at least taste good but everything was so salty and the fries were soaked in oil from the fryer, I couldn't even eat anything. (Update) I went and told the gentleman that I couldn't eat it because it was so salty and he did provide me with four more wings with light seasoning. He told me to request "light love" for anybody that doesn't like too much salt. I recommend making the request.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The wings are very good but the size of the wings vary a lot. You could get big wings or you could get small wings and it's still the same price. They charge $8 for 4 wings which is pricey but I am alright if they are good but with "taxes" 4 wings cost $10.52. Even at 7.5% sales tax, the tax should only be .60 cents. So not sure what the extra $1.92 is for? Like I said the wings are good and if you are cool with inconsistent wing sizes and being charged an extra $2.52 for 4 wings then you will love it.

This food truck came to my apartment complex. I decided to give it a try! I ordered their banana pudding waffles. They are DELICIOUS! Bought some Ghetto Love seasoning to have at home. I can't wait to spot this truck again and try the other items on the menu!

deep fried to a crisp greasy waffle and wings

I was really looking forward to trying this. I"m a big fan of food trucks and really want to support them especially right now during the pandemic. First off, it was a good thing we checked our order before driving away cause 2 out of 3 were wrong. They switched our order w another customer who happened to walk back up the same time I did. It probably wasn't the safest thing to agree to switch back but I didn't want to be a "karen". Next, the waffle. Is it really supposed to be deep fried? It is SO greasy and burned to a crisp. Actually beyond crisp, it was burned. Such a bummer. It is inedible. NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES! The wings were over seasoned and overcooked as well. If it was delicious, i wouldn't mind paying $13 + tip. But with what we got, I'm super disappointed. I guess this will teach us a lesson for not just going to Lolo's. Leaps and bounds better and way cheaper too.

Pretty good wings a lil pricey for some wing ding's $8.00 {4pieces) with no fries and $12 for 4 wing pieces with fries . now if they was whole wings that's a different story..I just wanted to support a business..I also bought their "ghetto love seasoning " $5 for a 2oz seasoning bottle we spent $5 for a small mason jar of kool aid and the big jar was $10 we didn't get by the way..sooooo all together we spent $17 and some change ..damn near $20 with taxes included.. don't get me wrong the wings are good.. the customer service was excellent.you order from an iPad with the card swiping device. Will I be back?! 2 be continued like from your old school favorite TV show from back in the day

So this truck was at my apartment complex and I was so excited to get the strawberry and cheesecake waffle and when I got home my waffle was completely burnt hard as a rock my strawberries were sour like they were rotten everything was bad about it and I paid $11 for garbage

Mr. Wonderful Supposedly fruity pebbles cheesecake.

Horrible food Stay Away from this food truck there is way better soul food in Arizona. The fries were over salted the wings were over salted couldn't eat it. The Dude in front taking the orders was very rude. I didn't know that they had different sauces for the wings I didn't see anything of sauces on there food truck menu. The food was very expensive I payed 100.00 for 5 wing dinners. I payed 12.00 each for 3 over salted wings that were way way to over fried and pile of over salted fries. This place is a joke. Wait I haven't even told you the funniest part. They told me they were selling cheesecake. I asked what kind they told me they had fruity pebble so I ordered a fruity pebble cheesecake. When I arrived home I opened up the cake box and all it was some waxy store brand cheesecake with fruity pebbles sprinkled on top.

My apartment complex brings different food trucks a couple days a month and today they had Mr. Wonderful's chicken and waffles from 5-8 right outside. Chicken and waffles is one of my boyfriend's favorite things to eat, so we had to try it! We originally wanted to order the chocolate cream waffle and the chicken dirty fries, but they were out of cream and the dirty fries. I was pretty disappointed. We ended up just getting the chocolate waffle and the wings and fries which came out to ~22 dollars with tax. For the amount of food we got, I would say that it was pretty pricey. The fries were seasoned, but not enough for my taste. In addition, I think they could have been a little more crispy. The wings were my favorite part of the meal because they were really crispy and were seasoned well! My boyfriend really enjoyed the waffle. While it was good, I didn't think it was anything special. Overall, I don't think I would visit this food truck again because of the price and the lack of certain menu items.

Banana Pudding

We enjoyed our first trip to their food truck in Chandler. Beau had the wings - some of the best he's had here in AZ - great flavor. We shared the banana pudding. Despite the triple digit weather, the dessert was super cold - really taste. Can't wait to go back.

The Traveling Monk - Great Food Truck!

Little details like that is what makes the food great. The flavor of both items blew me away. So yummy. So why only 3 stars? They took forever. We tried them at the Gilbert Food Trucks Food Court and they were super under staffed. Took close to an hour with waiting in line and waiting on food. Not exactly what one expects from a food truck. And while the food is amazing, it's not good enough to over look that long wait.

Wasn't sure where to find them since their website (travelingmonkaz.com) does not appear to be supported. However, their Facebook page is kept current and I was able to determine that they would be appearing on a Saturday evening at the Food Truck Caravan in Scottsdale located at 5th Avenue and Goldwater Boulevard. Fortuitously, I had bought tickets for a comedy show at Scottsdale's Stand-Up Live, which was a stone's throw away. I couldn't resist ordering the BBQ pork street tacos (beer barbeque pulled pork, jalapeno slaw, with bacon beer aioli) and they were phenomenal! They come three to an order so I was able to share with my comedy show compadre. He concurred that they were scrumptious. It stands to figure that porky goodness cooked with beer can be somewhat irresistable, and the folks at The Traveling Monk seem to know that all too well. I have since noticed that The Traveling Monk has been appearing at new breweries, which seem to be popping up in the East Valley as of late. I will keep my eyes peeled on their Facebook feed, since it seems like a perfect excuse to visit them at a couple of breweries on my list (Arizona Wilderness Brewing Company in Gilbert and Huss Brewing Company in Tempe, for example). I can only imagine how well their food goes down with a delicious craft beer, and I can only surmise that the folks responsible for The Hungry Monk (which maintains a very respectable craft beer selection) know exactly what they are doing.

The Cheesesteak Joint - Fried mushrooms

I was out running errands on a Wednesday night and was in the mood for a good cheesesteak. Decided…read moreto pull out my phone. and instead of using Yelp, I actually just punched cheesesteak into Waze, and what do you know?! I ended up finding the cheesesteak joint. This is actually a food truck, which is parked on the side of the Tipsy Catcus, which is a really cool brewery I also checked out while I was waiting for my order. I ordered the original cheesesteak with the white cheese and whiz cheese combo (I tried to order my usual provolone, but they don't offer provolone as one of the cheese choices) and the fried mushrooms. I was the only person who pulled up around six P.M. and because this was on a Wednesday night, not a Friday night, hence the low traffic. But service was really good. The young lady who helped me out was prompt, explained everything and gave me a pager, which allowed me to go inside the brewery while I waited. One thing to note, while I was talking to the owner of the tipsy cactus, he told me that Friday night and Saturday nights are usually popping. So I wouldn't expect to be first in line on any of those nights. It also looks like they rotate food trucks on different nights, so don't assume that the cheesesteak truck is going to be here every night. I would check the tipsy cactus website, or Instagram page to be sure. It took about 15 minutes for them to complete my order and when I got it home and I dug in. I was really satisfied as the food was super good. Cheesesteak was on point with the prime rib being top quality, and the fried mushrooms were well done, juicy, with a really good homemade sauce that they packed in with my order. I almost forgot about the churro I ordered. And I forgot about it because I accidentally left it in the bag in the car and didn't eat it until the next day. It didn't matter. A short blast in the microwave and this thing was killa. I'll definitely be looking forward to checking this place out again in the future.
