Adorable local ice cream shop that has really expanded their menu! We used to walk here when I was in high school & they first opened with very few options other than the twisters, cones, and cups! Love that they have slushies coming soon as well as fairly decent hot food spread with chicken tenders, burgers, and fries on the menu! We took my nieces for a treat after playing on the playground and I was so happy to see they still put the cute little eyes on the ice cream, such a cute signature touch. My husband made a Georgia mud fudge copy cat (they added sprinkles for some reason) but it's basically brownie, nuts, and fudge with vanilla ice cream. My nieces got a caramel shake & small twisted cone while I got an Oreo twister. They all LOOKED like kid sizes but we ended up finishing all of our treats and being STUFFED. Keep in mind they only serve soft serve so don't expect any scoops or homemade ice cream. They do have Italian ice which is a really great treat! Glad we stopped and bought vanilla cones, a kids cone and medium cones. My grandchildren loves the "eyes" candies they put on every cone. Really good and close to our house. Stopped numerous times for the cones and other treats. Not cheap, but we'll worth it. Friendly service! read more

This location is walking distance from our house, so we visit quite often during the summer! Our dogs love the pup cups, because who doesn't love ice cream! My favorite is how the candy eyes get added onto most of their menu items! So cute! All the staff are really friendly and get excited when they see the dogs! read more

What a fun place! This is an adorable little ice cream stand with soft serve cones, and ice cream treats! So yummy! The chocolate soft cone that I got came with these cute little candy eyes. Very whimsical! The ice cream itself was delicious! The sign said that hot food was going to be coming soon, I'm guessing for later in Spring and for the Summer. The food menu looked great and I would definitely return to try their hot food out. Staff was very friendly and service was incredibly quick! Stopped by this place after visiting the St Cloud Quarry and this place is an absolute gem! This place made me nostalgic of my childhood with windows where you order from and get your food, outdoor seating, incredible ice cream, and super cheap options! A medium soft serve was only ~$3, was incredibly yummy, and I love the cute little googley eyes they put on. Stopped here on my birthday before heading home to the cities. I ordered pineapple dole whip dish, son ordered a strawberry ice cream sundae concoction, spouse vanilla cone and a pup treat for the dog. My son received a cherry flavored treat instead. I even tasted to verify. The dole whip was good and a nice portion. The pup treat was vanilla ice cream and 2 small dog treats. I was expecting hard ice cream flavors. I've been here a few times and each time, the service is friendly and with a smile. I'm not a fan of the thicker ice cream like some people. To me it seems like a thick gelato or custard consistency in a cup. They did get my order wrong but it was in my favor, so I'll take it. The mix ins were hard to find at the top my cup looked like a cup of vanilla ice cream. The mix ins were in the bottom half of the cup. The prices are good for the sizes and I hope they stick around for the locals who love them. What sets them apart are the cute google sets of eyes they put on their ice-cream cones. If Mr. Twisty and the Dairy Queen were pitted against each other in a fight, I would bet on Mr. Twisty every time. This relatively new walk-up ice cream shop got it right by thinking old school! This is not a hipster artisan homemade ice cream place but it is a local mom and pop stand serving up quality soft-serve ice cream, classic menu offerings, a few hot eats/snacks, and great prices. The service is quick and friendly so don't be afraid to stop even if you see a line. TIP: There is a park with a playground and splash pad right across the street. Hopefully, someone will purchase the business and continue to operate this independent, family-run ice cream shop. Mr. Twisty's is a local walk-up self-serve ice cream establishment on the west side of St. Cloud, near Westwood. They serve quite a variety of ice cream, ice cream treats, and specialty items. Their cones feature a pair of tiny candy eyes... hence "Mr. Twisty." Strange, but true. My children love this place. For those with lactose or other dietary issues, Mr. Twisty's also serves a dairy-free option. Each day there's a different featured "Italian ice." It's particularly scrumptious, and if you want a real treat, get the Italian ice twisted with vanilla. That's always good. As others have mentioned, there is a school park across the street (it's a busy street, so watch your kids when crossing). As this is a walk-up place, there's no place to warm up. They do feature a few picnic tables outside, but it's not somewhere you'd want to sit on a cold or windy day. I love supporting local businesses, and this is a great one to support. I know Mr. Twisty's is up for sale, but they will reopen this season. This place is a local favorite that has resonated with all ages, young and old. I live near Mr. Twisty, so since it's opened, I've frequently walked there to grab an ice cream treat on hot days and cold days alike. I had several friends who worked there, so I met the owner, Rick, on several occasions. He's such a nice guy who ran a solid business. This was the place to be in the summer, and I was delighted to live so close to it! I remember many occasions during high school going there after football games etc. This place definitely has a special place in my heart. I love the chocolate shakes, brownie sundae, and crunch cone there. They also have weekly Italian ice flavors. There's ice cream treats to cater to anybody's preferences. This is a great walk up soft serve and slushee place. Reasonably priced. The neighborhood is lucky to have it. Wish there was a place to warm up on blustery days.
