They gave me an honest assessment of my transmission and the issues ! They also gave me some recommendations that were better and cost effective to remedy my issues ! I am very leased with the work and service they provided! read more

I am having transmission problems. Andy was the rep who helped me. The one star is for him being very generous in helping me and being patient with me. But other than that, they do not get any more stars. After taking it to them, they charged me $100 for a diagnostic and told me they did not know what was wrong with my car. They said they would have to take it apart. I asked for how much, and he said he didn't know, but it was going to be between $3400-$4500. I broke down outside another auto shop because I couldn't afford that, and I had driven the car to that shop. But I came crawling back to them. They suggested I do the finance to pay for the car but I didn't want to do that. Anyways, he had his tow truck pick me up, and I was towed back to them. I'm thankful for the tow who brought me back. He had just got off work, and I appreciate him coming to my rescue. Shout out to him. I did wind up still towing it to another place, and I did have to pay the 100 tow fee. He made sure to let me know. I didn't mind paying it because the man worked after hours and he didn't have to. But it sucked that he didn't know what was wrong after the diagnostic. That's what it's for. I took it somewhere else and he told me everything and it's not even a transmission shop. Hmmmm... read more

My Surburban has been in there shop for over 40 days without being repaired. It has been in and out of the shop 4 times with lies, blame, and excuses as to why they can not fix it. FIND ANOTHER TRANSMISSION SHOP! read more

I highly recommend Mr Transmission. I knew right away that they were the right shop for the job. You can just tell when people really know what they're talking about and not full of BS. They replaced a cheap clutch kit from a previous shop and put in quality product. My clutch never shifted so smoothly. Fair price and speedy service. read more

Mr. Transmission - 2005 Tundra - Auto Repair Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

My 2000 Honda Accord's transmission was rebuilt in May, and it's been working perfectly ever since. I had a leak where I was putting in a quart of transmission fluid every 2 weeks, which over time ruined it I guess. Now, I'm free to worry about my car's other problems instead of the transmission. read more

Transmission went out on my ol' F150. I knew it was coming.... I do most of the work on my vehicles myself, but automatic transmissions are beyond my expertise. There are a couple transmissions shops in my area off Austin Highway, but Mr Transmission was the easiest to get scheduled for. They put me on the schedule for two days later, I brought my truck in, and Daniel told me I was not on the schedule because they had merged databases or something like that. I would be put at the back of the line because they were already behind. This wasn't good news, but I left my truck to be looked at anyway. It was five days before they were able to begin looking at it. Daniel gave me a call to give me the diagnosis of shit's fk'd and a quote on the repair. For the amount of damage the quote was reasonable, more on that later. It was another full week before I got my pickup back, and it ran for about two days before it started slipping again. I brought it back into the shop, and Daniel put it back in the queue to be worked on under warranty. They had missed some case damage on the original inspection. They replaced the case and rebuilt the transmission a second time at no additional cost. Gotta love when a shop stands by their warranty! All in all, I would recommend Mr Transmission for the quality work they did and standing by their guarantee. If you need the job done fast, you might want to look elsewhere. read more

Our Ford Focus was not driving smoothly and felt like it was going to die on us so we went to Mr Transmission as a recommendation by a friend and were surprised at how quick and professional they were! It wasn't an easy bill to swallow but Rob found a coupon that knocked off $100 that I didn't even know about. He didn't have to do that but he understood how much of a financial burden it was for me during this trying time. All the staff there were very courteous and professional! I would definitely recommend Mr Transmission for anyone who is weary of a trustworthy place to go. read more

Had my truck dropped off due to a bad tranny leak. Diagnosis took a little long but my trucks kind of big so its had to wait for a certain lift to be freed up. Once it was diagnosed I got a call about what was needed and why. The rebuild process was very quick. Overall I felt the pricing was fair and the service was great. Rob was a pleasure to work with. Truck went back for its evaluation a week later and checked out fine. I've already put about 2500 miles on it in 3 weeks and it works perfectly. I highly recommend Mr. Transmission. read more

This shop is clearly the best I've ever dealt with. There's no bs here. I had a problem with my transmission and was in a very bad situation with transportation and these guys came to the rescue and got my car done so quickly. Saved me so much time and money. Don't do business with anyone else, seriously. read more

This was the worst service. I would not recommend taking your vehicle there. Robert verbally abused my wife and treated her with disrespect. Danny tried to apologize after telling me they did not do it right the first time. 22 years in business and to get bamboozled by these crooks is pathetic. I had to pay for the towing after my car broke down after they fixed it. Then they wanted to charge me again for more repairs on top of that. Slime dogs. #takenadvantageof. read more

I brought in a my old 1985 CJ7 Laredo, that I recently acquired through a friend. It had been sitting for a few years, but I got it now, and I'm starting to rebuild it. I knew the manual transmission was hurting bad, so I brought it to Robert at Mr. Transmission. I've read reviews and asked around, and all I heard was about Robert at Mr. Transmission. I must say, after it was returned to me, it felt like I was driving a brand new vehicle. I had to have the entire transmission rebuilt, because there was rust developing on the inside of the tranny, and have seals and U-joints replaced as well. Much of it was worn down or worn out, due to lack of love for this classic beast of a 4x4. Anyway, I couldn't be more happy. The vehicle is driving incredibly nice now. The transmission, as far as I can tell, is in perfect shape. It's like night and day. I have a bit of work done to the suspension, undercarriage, new tires, engine mounts, and so forth, then had some minor work done to the brakes and steering. Next was the transmission, and now it's ready to turn into the body shop. This CJ7 will look very nice once I'm done with it. Robert didn't feed me any crap, was straight forward and to the point, which is what I like when it comes to my vehicles. I would highly recommend Mr. Transmission. I have my 300 mile inspection coming up next week, so the Jeep can be looked at. I'm sure it's just to see if everything sealed correctly and there are no small issues that could turn into big issues later. Thanks Robert and the entire team at Mr. Transmission. I couldn't be happier. read more

I had an appointment this morning. I brought my car in and talked to Robert. After listening to my description of the issues, he told me my problem was more likely electrical than transmission related: which is something the dealership service dept would probably have to look at. Long story short, my car is now sitting at the dealership waiting to be diagnosed. But at least it didn't end up there after unnecessary transmission work. I really appreciate the straight shooting honesty. Thank you. read more

After having my Jeeps transmission replaced with a rebuilt transmission by "Mr Transmission" I can only say thanks for the 2 year extended warranty that Mr Transmission provided because during that time period I had numerous trips back & forth to their shop so they could continue to fix problems on the rebuilt transmission installed. At one point they said they were going to replace it again but didn't so I was stuck with the rebuilt lemon transmission they installed . Typically companies offer only a 1yr warranty. Well now it's been over 2 years & guess what, I'm still having issues with the rebuilt transmission & took it to the dealership who recommended another transmission. Also The transfer case is now leaking & the power steering pump I replaced 2 yrs ago is leaking. Well I spent over $4k at Mr Transmission & now the dealership suggests another transmission for an additional $4k has made me realize once your vehicle needs those kind of major repairs it's likely time to get rid of the vehicle because you really can't depend on the quality of rebuilt vehicle parts. Danny & Robert are great guys but they can't control the quality of the rebuilt parts they're installing on vehicles. And now i realize that's likely why most companies only offer a 1year warranty on rebuilt transmissions because they all know there's going to be future problems. It's unfortunate because I really liked my Jeep but if you can't rely on dependable parts it's not worth sinking more money into a money pit. Besides the transmission failing another item repaired was the power steering pump being only 2 yrs ago is now leaking so between the $4k transmission, the transfer case $1350 & the power steering pump at $1k suggests a current total of $6350 for current issues that if u think about... it really shouldn't be happening if the past repairs were quality. If u can't depend on repairs lasting more than 2 years than what the hell is the purpose of repairing ur vehicle. I'm done !! And I'm currently now just going to simply lease a new vehicle short term that way I can avoid future repairs. For all the money I spent in repairs it's probably much cheaper to lease a vehicle anyways. So long owning vehicles that drain ur bank account from either crappy installers or crappy parts. Hello new lease vehicle's !! Besides President Biden & the Democrats are going to force everyone into an electric vehicle anyway by using the EPA to designate stricter emission restrictions where peeps won't be allowed to keep older vehicles anymore. Good luck to the public in the United States of America. read more

Had my transmission repaired by these guys after Ken Batchelor Cadillac told me I was looking at over 9K dollars of repairs and tried to sell me another car (shameful)! Oh, not to mention, Cadillac dealership does not work on transmissions so don't waste your time with the dealerships for major maintenance issues. Anyway, Mr. Transmission did an excellent job diagnosing and repairing my transmission and service after the sale has been awesome as well. I have waited 6 months to write my review to see how well everything would go and have not been disappointed AT ALL! I have been towing my boat and putting a lot of miles on my Cadillac SRV and it is holding up very Well! Thanks Guys!!!! read more

Great Service! Honest, quick and fixed right the first time. Would recommend this transmission shop to my family and best of friends!!

Got my transmission rebuilt spent about 2 grand on it about a year ago. I have not drove the truck since February now I am having trouble with the shifting. They told me it was some kind of cable in the transmission that it is old and beat up and causing my problem they want to charge me 300 to fix ! How did they not do this when they supposedly rebuilt my entire transmission. read more

2008 F150 4x4 5.4L replace bad 5.4 motor. . They replaced the engine with a 2006 engine. I was upset with that but said ok If it runs good then I am good. Well a week later after I picked up the truck I went to parkland shut off the truck. I got out the truck and it kept rolling forward so I jumped back in then engaged the emergency brake. I quickly found while following the transmission shifting cable that 1 of 2 engine mounting bolds were missing. The causing the shifter to be off and not go into park.. Then I noticed no plug was attached to the oil pan sensor. So I decided to check the engine oil level.. Guess what not oil was was registering on the dip stick. Well they did say I had a 6 month warranty so I looked closer and for wire harness touching the hot exhaust pipe and many other things not properly secured.. I found transmission bolts hanging out or missing were it bolted to the engine the transmission was leaking were they connected back. Plastic fan shroud hanging 1/2 off missing plastic fan shroud prices. So I take it back 1 week after the engine install was done and they said they would fix it. Well its been 2 weeks and I decided to call them and get a update. Some one awnsers the phone I ask about the truck he said he would call me back in 5 min. He didn't call me back at all. IIts 2 days later and the will not awnser my calls so I had my wife call and ask about my truck they awnsered her call and she immediately requested a awnser refusing a call back from them. Thats my experience so far. It been one awsome experience to say the least! read more

I had my transmission repaired because it was stuck in low gear. The day I picked the transmission up after the repair it did the exact same thing that I had paid $2,400 to repair. I took the car back and they fixed it the next day. I was wondering how did they fix the same problem in one day that previously took 2 weeks and $2,400. At any rate the transmission lasted about a year and a half before it started doing the same thing sticking in low gear. I had a year warranty and took the car back to see how much it would cost to repair. I figured the price would be low since they just rebuilt the transmission a little over a year ago. I was told that I would need to do the same rebuilt again for another $2,400. I refused and was charged a diagnostic fee below $50.00. I went online brought a transmission for $900 and had Rodriguez Tire put it in for $250.00. Anytime they offer a free diagnosis that is just to get you in the door so they can convince you to let them open up your transmission and get into your pocket book for thousands of dollars. read more

This is my first review I have ever done on any place. And I feel a very well deserved one. I have a long story to how I got in touch with Mr . Transmission but to keep it as simple as possible they are AMAZINGLY GREAT PEOPLE. Danny and all the staff are on the top of there game. Honest, Informative, and Extremely Caring. I've waited on writing this review as to see the workmanship and quality. They completely rebuild my transmission on a 2006 Nissan Quest. My vehicle was damaged due to a careless driver hitting the front end and breaking the transmission cooler line after the claim was made with his insurance 15 days had past not knowing that the line was busted. The insurance fixed and replaced the cooler and the line but did nothing to the transmission. A day or so after getting our vehicle back the van stopped shifting gears. So we called the insurance they said take it to a mechanic of our choice and they will send there assessment agent to see if they are in any way liable, we all know they will try and weasel out unfortunately. So we sent it to the nissan dealership and once they found out it was to be disassembled they told us we don't do that here. So the claims manager there told us he knew a good place that honest so I had to try it out seeing as the dealership is sending one of there regulars somewhere else. This just happened to Mr. Transmission. Never meeting them or even going to the shop we had our vehicle towed there my wife spoke to Danny over the phone and he said he will do his best for us. He was hand on with the whole situation he showed the agent the damage caused and they said they would replace the transmission brand new. None the less I knew I was going to have to fix it with or without the insurance companies help but with Danny on our side and putting in so much time and effort for people he only spoke to over the phone. He saved me from about 4 grand in repairs to only 600. If you have ever had transmission issues you know this is a true blessing. He guaranteed the work he we have taken it in already for its initial check up and she's running like new if not better. And we shall be return customer's for all our transmission needs. And as great as Danny was for us he point out a few issues that he saw while working on the van and pointed us in the direction of another great place that is just as fair and honest. And I'll be writing something for them also Broadway Tire and Auto. Sorry for making this so long but these guys deserve so much for how great they have been to us. Don't second guess you won't go wrong choosing Mr . Transmission I promise. My Family is SO Grateful!!! read more

This is my first review, despite being a member for several years. I worked for Yelp for 4 years and was unable to write reviews during that time. My experience with Mr. Transmission is most deserving of my debut review! We have had a truly great interaction with this shop. That's saying a lot when the reason for our patronage is due to a bum transmission 1 week away from a long road trip, and any time spent at an auto shop is typically not a good time! They earned our trust by clearly explaining every aspect of the process with patience for our incompetence in the area of cars and would always return our calls promptly along the way and answer all of our questions thoroughly. Since we aren't from the area locally we also price checked them with several other shops in the area and they were by far the most reasonable! We saved a lot of head aches and money by choosing Mr. Transmission and I highly recommend them to anyone in the unfortunate position of needing their services. read more

i was told i could bring my car in around 2-3pm today. i showed up at 230pm and was told it would be 1-2 hours before they would know anything, as they were a little busy. ok. i go for a walk, take care of business in the area. come back 2 hours 10 minutes later, my car still has not been looked at. was told 'oh youre next in line'. fine. 2 more hours go by. your techs couldnt figure out how to get a 1997 subaru into FWD mode. i had to show them how to do their job. furthermore, the techs went on to complain about clicks coming from the front axles. NOT what i went in for and i told them explicitly I CAN REPAIR AXLES MYSELF. i explained what was wrong with my transmission when i got to the business. the tech said he also felt the vibrations i described. THAT WAS IT. Everything i told the techs and other people was parroted back to me. i explained the front passenger side axle was replaced, the drive shaft and u joint worked on. what do they tell me? 'OH IT COULD BE THE DRIVE SHAFT OR U JOINT, ALSO DID YOU KNOW YOUR AXLES ARE CLICKING!?!' it wasnt the axle clicking, it was metal pinging around in the transmission case. i want a full refund of the 55$ 'diagnostic' fee that i was charged and i am NEVER taking my car back to them. if i wanted someone to parrot everything i tell them back to me, ill frickin buy a parrot and teach it how!!! read more

My husband spent $500 to get his clutch replaced. When we took it home we noticed that the exhaust was hanging very low and out of line which caused a very dangerous exhaust leak in the car. We took it back and the guy was really rude about it . They put it back on the lift and did an even worse job putting it back. So we took it somewhere on the south side for cheap and they fixed it perfectly. Please don't waste your time or money at this auto repair shop. You could be putting your car at risk.
