This was the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor in my life. Super unprofessional and disrespectful. Job was scheduled to start on Monday the owner Dave texted me and said we will have to move to Tuesday. They didn't show up until Wednesday as they ran over on another job. Wednesday they worked from 9-2 absolutely destroying my molding with the sander and scuffing my walls in several locations. when I confronted them about the damage they said that It stated in the contract there would be damage and we would need to touch everything up ourselves. Owner Dave states "it happens I'll tell them to be more careful." My question to him was why weren't they careful to begin with? He had no answer. come to find out from they were double booked and had to go to other jobs in between. so they were rushing. Thursday they didnt show up until 12 worked until 3 and then said they would be back tomorrow at 9 as they had to go to another job today. Thursday when they left my house was covered in dust even upstairs in the bedrooms. They claim to be 95% Sandless they are no where near it. Friday they were late again showing up after 12 and working until only until 3. They didn't clean the dust like they said they would although I told them they would need to clean up before they put on the poly because the dust would get stuck under the poly. sure enough that's what happened. Sunday I asked them to clean up the dust again they didn't threw another coat of poly on and left 45 mins later. Monday when they came for the final coat I asked them one last time to please clean up and wait before leaving. so I could look around. when they were done they left out the front door and didn't say a word. Tuesday when the poly dried I noticed a bunch of white spots under the poly so I asked if he could come back and fix them. Dave the owner said yea sometime next week. Meanwhile we had already been without furniture in our house for a full week in the half mind you it says on the contract that they would be finished in about 2-3 days. when he did finally come back today he told me the spots were from something we spilled on the floor and they did everything they were supposed to do. mean while I have to hire a cleaning company and a painter to fix the mess they made. I was asked by 4 people who I was having do my floors and I told them I would not recommend him find someone else. if you are considering having your floors refinished I would recommend you do the same and go with someone else to avoid the headache. read more

We moved to our home in 1977 full wood floors through out . Our master bedroom was carpeted always. We had just painted our whole down stairs.we have an old Dutch colonial with sun-polar,living room and dinning room all connecting with large arch ways. The sunroom and dinning room did not need to be redone but our living room floor was a mess and badly in need of a redo. .Initially we were going to have the floor sanded,but on recommendation of David from Mr Sandless of Fairfield county we did the Sandless method as the floor had already been sanded once and afraid the floor would look lighter then the adjoining rooms. They put a cleaner down and then buffed out all the embedded dirt out and then put down a polyurethane (they added a slight tint) with his recommendation and our approval to match the other rooms. It came out ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. My husband and I could not be more pleased. David was very patient with helping us decide and came out to look at the floor before and during the whole process.His staff was very professional, nice and knowledgeable. left with no mess or dust. This was my first experience freshening up some of my wood floors. David Zucker came to my home, looked over the floors to be done and quoted $2375.00 The contract stated MS process living room, master, kitchen, den, dining room, repair board (homeowner has wood), move and replace furniture. Nothing was itemized - my error. When he arrived 1st he told me my dog could not walk on the floor for days (the longer the better). I was not told this in advance. Then he asked me if I emptied furniture draws. I was not told I had to. He got attitude. Then he cleared my bedroom and dining room and started. Shortly thereafter he came and told me the floors had wax on them making the job significantly more difficult. He never asked me if the floors had been waxed previously and frankly, using a cleaning service, I wouldn't have known anyway. Isn't he the professional who examined the floors? He said time wouldn't allow for the full job and since the kitchen and den were newer floors he'd remove them from the contract and give a $425 discount. Outrageous, right? I didn't want to stop him with my bedroom and dining room partially done. Then after doing the bedroom and dining room he decided not to include the living room either. He refused any additional discount. So, my bedroom and dining room were done and a board was replaced in my bedroom for $1300.00 plus his never mentioned charge of $150 for moving furniture and the additional $500 for replacing the board (not a dollar amount itemized on contract). So the 2 smaller rooms were done - the 3 larger weren't all for a $425 discount off a $2375 contract. read more
