Went for homecoming week and it didn't disappoint. I was greeted right away by someone selling…read moremerchandise and liked the ambiance. The bartender with short hair was friendly so I got a peach margarita which was huge and strong. I like how there was water at the bar you can help yourself to. Plenty of seating and general admission was comfy so indirect regret not getting a couch. There wasn't a server so I had to place my food order at the bar. It took a while to get it but when I did, the fries and wings were tasty. Price was right and the band was very talented. They played instruments and sang. Even the peole on the audience sang amazing . Money well spent and a time was had. Seemed like a Cheers type of place bc everyone seemed to know the band. Even someone from the kitchen came out to sing. The next time I'm in town, I'll be coming here. Ample parking in a strip mall. Near a campus.

I was amazing. The music was by Sherry Reeves from Birmingham. I got there early and was able to talk with her before the show. I used to play the flute in high school but she was amazing. Her music takes me to another place. It's the kind of experience that stays with you long after the show is over. If you haven't been here before it is a MUST GO place for Jazz. The crowd is a bit older (30+) which is perfect for me. The ambiance was great. Check out some of their upcoming artists. I'll be back soon.

The atmosphere of Lava Room might be the best in Florence, this place is really cool! They always…read morehave great live music on the weekends and their typical crowd is ideal compared to some other local bars. Their food selection isn't huge, but that's okay because every single item is amazing. Whether you get their ramen, bao buns, eggrolls, po boys, or appetizers, I promise it will be delicious. My personal favorites are the eggrolls. They have a wide selection on the drink menu, but you can order any standard mixed drinks as well. I recommend trying at least one of their signature cocktails, though, because there are some really neat options! The only downside is the limited seating, which can be annoying if they are super busy. If you get a table or a seat at the bar, you'll have an amazing time. Otherwise, you might be standing along the wall waiting for a spot to open up. That's a risk that's probably worth taking, though, given how great the atmosphere will be while you're here!

Drinks are great; they don't have a good scotch selection…read morebut the Japanese whisky choices are excellent (basically Japanese scotch, and it's very good). Ambience is great. Food looks interesting, would definitely eat here. Karaoke was awful. Just awful. How awful? Well, awful enough that I decided to write a review. And its not about the singers. Lots of people aren't great singers...that's expected. The karaoke guy runs the worst karaoke show I've seen in a long time. Anywhere from 4 to 7 minutes of thumping bumper music to entertain himself between singers (nothing against the genre, but it was completely opposite of every song people were choosing...know your demographic), no concept at all of basic EQ (vocals buried under the booming and mushy bass) , filled the room with smoke so thick you could barely see the stage, and blows a super loud and annoying air-horn sound effect between every. single. freakin'. song. Again...food, drinks, ambience and service are great. But if you enjoy karaoke, avoid.
