This is a MUST TRY in St Paul. I stumbled upon it on a random weekday, and I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else when I'm craving Mexican food (or waffle fries!). Since it was my first time, I asked for recommendations and got the combo (two tacos, two sides, and a drink). 〰The tacos: Tried the chicken and al pastor. I couldn't decide which one I liked best. It was all delicious. 〰The sides: The apple cabbage salad was a delightful surprise of flavors, and the waffle fries even beat my favorite burger joint. 〰The drink: The limocito is lemonade with fresh mint in it and it's refreshing, crisp, and not overly sweet. I don't even like lemonade and I crave this drink often. 〰The quesadilla: My friend ordered this and it's huge! It was dripping with melted cheese, which is the only way to have a quesadilla. The restaurant has a really cool vibe, colorful decor, and a mustache theme throughout the restaurant. Not only do some of the staff have amazing mustaches themselves, there are little mustaches all over the restaurant, which I found cute and playful. It's counter service with a self-serve setup on the side for an array of hot sauces, silverware, and napkins. The staff are out in the dining room clearing plates and checking on guests, and the whole place is impeccably clean. I really think this spot is perfect if you want to just hop in for a quick solo lunch or meet friends for a long catch-up dinner. I've worked in the restaurant industry on and off for over 20 years, so I can't help but notice the details (both good or bad) when I go out. Yo! Mr Mustacheo is a real one! It was our first time in and upon arrival we were greeted with a huge smile from Mr Mustacheo himself and as we were pondering over the menu he handed us horchata and lemonade samples which were FANTASTIC I'm and horchata girl and it was so good but I ended up picking the lemonade because it was so refreshing and unique. We were oooing and awwing over that and he comes back with an asada sample! Dudes such a unique flavor for Mexican cuisine , so tender juicy and flavorful. We ordered the sushi burrito, quesadilla, the loaded fries and the chilaquiles burger. The quesadilla while delicious was basic - go for the crazy menu items because they were off the chain. Saw a video online and me and my friends had to go try the wings. Nice spot to sit and eat. Walk in, go to the register to order and wait for your food. The woman taking the orders was very helpful and accommodating. They had a ton of wings sauces and she let me try a few before ordering since it was my first time. Made everything so much easier. I also got a drink that they make and she gave me a small sample of that as well. It took a little bit but I'm sure it's because everything is made fresh. These wings were amazing and so was the drink. I got 12 wings and the specialty drink and it came to about $30. To me its a little spendy but I'm not mad i paid it for the delicious flavors and great service. read more

Shout out to Yuri as I picked her brain on what she would recommend. She was patient, smiled and displayed excellent customer service. Even though they were about to close, she didn't rush me and let me take my time. The asada tacos were really good and authentic-tasting. The asada fries were good but the menu didn't say chopped up pieces of hotdogs were on there. I don't eat pork so that was a bummer. I also tried the chicken torta. It was really good. The only thing I'd recommend is toasting the bread. That would be my only complaint I guess. I will be back to try the different choices of chicken wings they have. Big-ote chicken quesadilla was amazing!! Will definitely get it again. The mole chicken was too Bbq flavored for my liking. The asada was pretty good, a slight note of Maggi that tastes like soy sauce. The chips and salsa were meh. I want a fresh pico or chunky salsa, it was verde and pretty boring. The fries were great! Will try something new next time for sure, but seems to be hit or miss with flavor. read more

Okay, first off -- the name alone deserves five stars. But the food? Even better. Mr. Mustacheo is one of those spots that instantly makes you smile when you walk in -- fun vibe, friendly staff; the owner even came out to greet us and I get the "Mr. Mustacheo" name LOL. I ordered the zucchini squash tacos and french fries, and it was decent and creativity as a vegetarian alternative. The french fries were everything! definitely worth the trip. Everything was fresh, however the seasoning can be a little better. I will say make sure you order the LIMONCITO drink you will not regret it. However I do wish they server it a little more colder for the full experience. You can tell they actually love what they do here -- lots of thinking went into the menu and the ambiance of the establishment. Prices are kind of mid-high depending on what you order, portions are generous, and you leave feeling genuinely happy -- like you just visited a neighborhood friend who happens to be an amazing cook. read more

What a delicious spot right on Robert St! There's ample parking once you're in their lot, and the indoor seating is very cool with branding and ambience that truly shine. The food portions are generous for the price, and the salsa bar is a great bonus, especially if you're getting carryout and want to take extra sauce home. This food was really good, low key blew away my expectations. Tried for the first time today. Dude at the register was super nice as we took our time to check the menu.
