The mikeburger is not just the best burger in town, it's the best burger in the country. I recommend the bacon mikeburger with an extra party. Beefy flavor, juicy, good size, French bread for a bun. A superb burger. Fries are also top shelf. Service was simply fantastic, even though the server said it was her first day. Much better than the standard service in town. Nice atmosphere. Well maintained. Well worth the stop. Note: they don't have Splenda.

Entrance to Mr Mike's is in dark earth tones. Can be hard to see as you drive up the Highway.

The menu said it was to include "artisan lettuce, shaved fennel, sun-dried tomatoes, caramelized pecans and dried cranberries" however it only came with spring mix lettuce and dried cranberries. For a $9 salad, this was really disappointing. I also had the seafood chowder which was really tasty. It came with plenty of seafood including haddock, scallops shrimp and a side of toasted garlic bread. Service was decent and there was a TV in the restaurant area with the game on which was a bonus.

Liquor flowed, deals were sealed and anyone unfortunate enough to be wearing a tie had it clipped off and displayed on the trophy wall. The restaurant changed hands until it was renovated and rebranded as part of the Fogg N Suds franchise, renowned for its impressive line up of international beers, fishbowls of cocktails and awe inspiring draft beer towers. The crowds were usually young, loud and very enthusiastic. Under new ownership and a management change Roustabouts opened. Emphasis was placed more on family dining and quality food. I've had more than a few memorable meals here with friends. So I was quite surprised at the mediocre quality of my last few visits. I ordered my old standby favorite, pulled pork. Not at all the tender, saucy, melt in your mouth, drip down your chin experience I remember. The pork was chewy and dry. As were the little cup of mushrooms offered as a $2 side, advertised as sautéed but had obviously not been introduced to a lick of butter. The gravy was another disappointment. I can't eat naked fries, if you're going to charge extra for gravy make it from beef drippings and flour. However the service was friendly and the Keith's amber ale was frosty and delicious!

Not what you'd expect for the money, but fine for what you expect for the place. Decor is well-large room with tables and TVs. Nothing wrong with that, but $33 for chicken dinner? The beef dip is only OK. It is a bit small, and bread a bit dry and the Au jus watery and overly salted, but hey, I've had worse - not for $18. But I've had worse at $12. It was hard to get over the shock of seeing the menu prices. These prices would be fine at a Fairmont Hotel, with the accompanying food quality, atmosphere, and service. At a Super 8 Hotel, they seem way out of line.

Every night they have a special. Everyone order the Thursday special, which was a 5oz steak w/mushrooms, salad and fries. No one complained. Okay, so my husband said, "it was so good he could have eaten more." I ordered the Coconut Curry (something like that) with prawns. Not spicy at all (which can be a concern for me when curry is involved)and so fresh. I had leftovers which my husband ate about an hour later. He agreed, it was very good. I also had an ice cold bud light. Wait staff is great. We will be back. I want to try the lettuce wraps.

The pub hasn't aged a lot since it's opening. In fact the usual suspects can be found any given weekend, filling the same seats they've occupied since the late eighties. Some things have changed, the awesome HO scale train that raced by on tracks overhead is gone. Some things have stayed the same, the wait staff is still friendly and funny and not afraid to stop and chat with the patrons. My server, a local, born and raised here, relished the fact most of her clientele went to school with her parents and some of her former school mates who frequent the pub haven't aged that well. She recommended a sleeve of Belgian moon draft with brunch. A smooth beer, heavy on citrus, which I probably would avoid except at breakfast where it makes perfect sense. I tried the avocado toast. A soft poached egg on brioche with tomato and mashed avocado. It really lacked any kind of flavor or texture, as did the fruit plate that accompanied it. However food and drink is reasonably priced here and I do enjoy the free conversation.
