I went in for an oil change and faced extensive upsell!!! I was told the belt was cracked. I agreed to have it changed. then asked to see it. NO It was not cracked. They "kindly" asked me when my transmission fluid was changed. I advised them that my car remains under warranty and has all its regular maintenance. I did not require a the transmission fluid changed. They "checked" anyway and I had to insist that they NOT top up my transmission fluid. They wanted to change my air filters. I again had to insist they they NOT touch my filters. They still took the one under the hood out. I then asked them NOT to top up my windshield fluid. I had to justify why I did not want any of their "complimentary" top ups. They ripped me off for a belt that wasnt needed and tried to upsell on anything they could! NEVER AGAIN Mr Lube. I am a female driver, driving a 2017 Nissan Micra, the small one. I only can afford this car and I need it for my work to go smoothly as a part of my job requires driving around the GTA area. I drove it for initial 4 years without winter tires. As it was getting old and my dealership free oil change term was over I started to go to the Mr. Lube at 1500 Finch Ave location on Finch and Don Mills Rd since Dec/2021 and guess what! They have been ripping my pocket off since then. Every time visiting the location costed me approximately $700 per visit after initial 2 times visit. Initial 2 times It was for buying new sets of tires along with installation costed me around $1000-$1500 each time. As per their suggestion my all season tires were all bad and I had to buy 4 sets of all season tires on the 2nd visit during summer time in 2022. Also suggested me to buy 4 rims so every time tire change wouldn't damage my tires which I can understand. But then the real game started! With every visit they were bringing me up with some sort of cap change, filter change, oil thank flush, rust coating, serpentine belt change, tire balancing even asked me to change battery for a brand new car just after 5 years of buying when I had no issues with batteries. It's unbelievable! Anyways, I didn't go for the battery change but I have done the rest without knowing anything about car mechanisms and blindly believed on their suggestions! Now let me tell you this! After 3 years of spending approximately $700 per visit for my small Nissan Micra I got fed up this year and I went to a small reputed mechanic shop with a friend's reference just 2 weeks ago. It is a bit far for me but I had to go there to try and now I came to know the devil truth of Mr. Lube. The new mechanic pointed out that the rear right tire was wabbly and finally after opening the tire he showed me that the ball bearings were all falling apart. Mechanic also mentioned that the ball bearings were seemingly damaged for more than a year now. The break pads are in very bad condition and suggested me to change it in sets. This time I had to pay extra to change the rear right tire ball bearings and 2 front break pads. But the winter tire and oil change costed me only about $137 including tax as I have tires on the rim whereas Mr. Lube always charged me $85+tax for on the rim tire change and $65+tax for synthetic oil change. But the matter of the fact is Mr. Lube did put me and my car in a great risk as I could be in any sort of accident with that damaged ball bearing condition. I have asked Mr. Lube few times to check the breaks to find if there is any issue as I was feeling that breaks are a bit loose when pressing but they have ignored it by saying that breaks are fine for my car. In addition to the whole story they didn't change my cabin filter for close to 2 years now and my car was getting foggy during heavy rain and snow fall, but initially in 2021 and 2022 they have charged me $59+tax which I just figured out that its only available with $25-$30 online on amazon. At the end I would like to warn all female drivers that be aware of Mr. Lube's no appointment service offer, as we ladies aren't that good in understanding the whole car mechanisms! When you have no time to wait and don't prefer dropping your car at the mechanic shop then you see such offer that "we will do everything in front of you" and "no appointment needed", that's definitely sounds amazing! But the truth is devil doesn't always show up openly, sometimes it uses mask to hide which only gets uncovered with time! So I noticed my car was leaking oil. Not cool. I wasn't sure if this place was able to fix it but I stopped in hoping they could. The guys were amazing. First thing, I was handed a newspaper right when I got out of my car. Nice. Then I was offered a coffee. I was even asked to go down into the pit so I could see where the leak was coming from. The hard hats were pretty greasy, but what do you expect when you're poking around under a vehicle? While I was waiting, one attendant was checking my tires and cleaning all my windows. Not only did they provide fast and friendly service, but they replaced the filter and topped up the oil as well. If you're in the area and need an oil change or some basic maintenance work, I would definitely recommend these guys. read more

Very poor unprofessional service. I went to the Donmills and Finch location to have my 4xbrand new alloy wheels balanced.i reputedly asked them to be careful not to damage them. They told me it's routine job for them.in the end they ended up scratching 3 out of the 4 and two from the exterior which shows pretty ugly. I paid money for them to balance my wheels not for them to damage them. They employ untrained youth mainly students to do this work. I am so very careful with my wheels and change them summer and winter by myself to make sure they are undamaged, but unfortunately I have to depend on a shop to balance my wheels. Never again will I vist mr lube for anything. I have been going to this location for atleast 8-10 years. Do not get your wheels worked by these people, they will ruin them. When I complained the store manager said these things happen, anyway wheels will get damaged when driven LOL...wheels getting damaged or worn whilst driving isn't same as when unprofessional people ruin them when paid to get a job done. Disgusting unprofessional service. Go to a professional place where they have trained technicians not Mr Lube that hires untrained youth to perform work that people pay money for.They are not cheap either. Absolutely terrible. Wouldn't even give one star if possible. Went to them around 9 month ago (forgot to post the draft) to fix a tire with a nail stuck on it. When the employee was taking that tire off its rim, he held the tools at a weird angle that the tools kind of poked into the tire. We even asked him, as he literally pried the tires off, if this will break the tire. He told us not to worry and a few seconds later he punctured a 4 inch hole in the tire! The guy who broke our tire didn't seem very experienced, so if the store apologized and offered us a new tire, we would've just let it go. But this other seemingly more senior employee had the audacity to claim that our tire broke because it was already too worn out, when my car at the time was a 3 week old brand new car with new tires!!! The senior employee said that because the tire broke in the shop, we can order a new tire from them with a 50% discount. Every time we tell them the car is not even one month old, they just chose to not hear that and continued to claim the tires were worn out because of salt damage and the car is probably unbalanced. We ended up getting our car tolled away and got it fixed somewhere else. Extremely disappointed and embarrassed for the blunt lies from employees at this Mr. Lube. read more

This is a well-run location Mr. Lube. Not all locations seem to offer the coffee, newspaper, or to wash the windshield and spray the door hinges. All those little extra things so you don't have to is much appreciated. The service is good and I usually don't have to wait long to get in to the bay. The oil change prices aren't cheap but they're pretty standard. They also track your service and match it to your vehicle mileage to recommend service that should be done then or soon. I know it's an upsell effort but if you're supposed to do the service anyway, why not get it done all at once? It's convenient. read more

Went to get a tire repair. The "mechanic" told me it cannot be repaired and must replace the tire. I was quoted $300 plus installation for 2 new tires as you cannot replace just one. Took the car to Canadian Tire the next day and they patched the tire at a cost of 40 bucks. Never ever going to Mr Lube again!!! read more

However, last week they over torqued the oil filter cap cracking it which caused a major oil failure within 10 hours of leaving the service bay. The spill contaminated many areas of the engine, requiring me to have the car towed and $1500 in repairs done at the dealership. THEIFS!!! I went to this Mr.Lube to get an oil change. I left being ripped off. While getting my oil "changed" I was told that several of my fluids were low (wiper fluid, transmission, and power steering) and would I like them topped up. After my oil change was done I was SHOCKED to find out that I was charged $25/fluid top up! My bill for an oil change was over $200. When I confronted the "mechanic" who is also the manager Shahin Ahmed. I was told that is standard policy to charge for all fluid top offs. I argued but to no avail. For my next oil change, I went to another Mr. Lube in Brampton (Ray Lawson and HWY 10). When I first entered I told them right away I didn't want any fluid top-ups at all. The attendant was quite puzzled as to why I requested this, I proceeded to recant my story at which point the attendant shockingly told me THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR TOP UPS! Regardless of what is being topped up. So Mr Shahin Ahmed completely ripped me off and is going against company policy. Went in for the Ontario Drive Clean test, the service I received was okay (not bad but not good). To be clear, I got the service I wanted and nothing bad happened. But the experience could have been better. When I drove in I was asked to park my car in front of the garage to queue up behind current customers, and was immediately handed a newspaper and Mr. Lube pamphlet (with services and prices). I sat in the office for about half an hour waiting for the current customers to clear, and enjoyed their free Wi-Fi Internet for a bit. The Drive Clean test is actually really simple because they just read the car's OBD-II computer data - no actual driving or tailpipe testing is done. So there's not much that could possibly go wrong in the worst case. I lament that my communication with the staff was mediocre. When they spoke to me I had to ask them to repeat almost every time, because they spoke too fast or not clearly. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but wish that I could understand their words better. Overall I remain positive but cautious about this business. read more

Went to this Mr. Lube location a month ago for a routine oil change. We were told that we had waited too long to get an oil change and should bring it in every 5,000km (Honda has never told me this, ever). I usually take my car to Honda, but we were leaving for a trip and couldn't get an appointment there before we left. We have a 2017 honda crv and the service light had not even come on yet. The man who helped us, tried to get me to flush our system because we needed it. Which also makes no sense, as it's a pretty new car. He also said we had quite a bit of rust under the car, which again seemed like it couldn't be true, as we hadn't even had the car for a year. I declined all of the services he tried to upsell me on, and just continued to tell him that all we wanted was the oil change. He seemed a little annoyed about it, but kept going. They finished the job and we went on our way. About 2 weeks ago we realized the oil shield under our car was hanging down, and it was causing the steering to be off. We just took the car to Honda today who said we are missing screws to the shield. They said we probably knocked them loose when we hit a huge bump (this hasn't happened). I then explained where we last took the car for an oil change and honda said they have seen this before from places like Mr. Lube. We now have to pay a hefty amount to get these replaced. If you really want to save money and time, DO NOT go to Mr. Lube. We are now paying for our mistake, literally. read more

This guys are always trying to foist some unnecessary and expensive procedures to customers. They refused to repair my flat tire, saying it was not repairable just because I asked them why they're trying to charge me $50 if the quote obtained via phone conversation a day before was $40. BE CAREFUL If you're a female and doesn't know about cars, and is going there alone. I had to get my license sticker renew and needed an emission test too. Thinking it's convenient, I want to this Mr. Lube since it's closed by. WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE. Went in there for a FREE emission test, but instead I came out with a new (not needed) car battery. These guy can see that I didn't know what I was doing so I kept saying there's something wrong with my car. EVEN THOUGH I went to my garage recently and they said nothing's wrong. Since that place it's quite crammed, and no where for me to watch what they're doing, I had to sit in their office. Anyways, by the end of the emission test, the guy tried to start my car but it wont start. (Mind you my battery never died or failed to start EVER before coming here.) He went and jump start it, give me a piece of paper with some battery reading that said my battery needed to be change. After failing to start my car again, after their first jump start. I thought there was some wrong, so I had the battery change. I was in a rush so I didnt see the test properly and I just realized the test couldnt have been mine since I wasnt even there at the time the test say it was performed. My damn fault for my checking. Was not amused with how long it took. There were no lines which was great but we had to get an oil change and it took forever waiting to get the emissions test. We were first told it would only take 20 mins or so and it ended up being close to an hour. I was not happy as I had to get DT that day. Wished they had been more honest in terms of the timing. They also kept trying to upsell us (as they & other Mr Lube locations ALWAYS DO) and telling my husband he needed this and that done for the car. The young associate was hesitant when my hubby asked "Is this necessary to get this done?". That's when you know they are bs-ing you. I would honestly never take my car to a Mr Lube. It also took FOREVER trying to pay for the services. We were asked to move the vehicle outside and wait for someone w/ the machine to pay. After what seemed like an eternity they finally came. But then instead of giving us the receipt, the guy went back inside without telling us why. Turns out it was to get a stapler to staple the crap together (took their sweet time). Honestly we just wanted to GOOOOO. Only the manager seemed nice. The guy who sprayed the side doors was a bit grumpy. The younger technician/associate didn't have a clue. Due to cold weather, my windshield fluid could not come out. I drove by Mr. Lube, just hoping to get some expert advice on what to do. More than just explaining what was wrong, they promptly fixed the problem by sucking out old fluid which was frozen and added in winter windshield fluid (-46 degree) and fixed it in minutes. They did this all for free, even when I took out my wallet wanting to give some tips, they refused. What a great service! Highly recommended. read more
