DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Where do I even begin with this. This is quite possible the worst experience that I have ever had with a company. I contracted Mr. Home to do some mold removal, remove old insulation, and install vents. While attempting to do these things they destroyed my bathroom ceiling, ventilation system, and bedroom ceiling. They tried to pull a fast one and just spray the mold and leave all the concentrations on the far ends of the attic where they were probably hoping I would not look. The jerk that came to look at the damages and job that was not done attempted to tell me that the mold was dead, and the wood was stained. This was not the case, I had Servpro come out and they tested the mold which was still alive, and they were able to scrub it all off (highly recommend Servpro). Their attempted "fix" of my bedroom ceiling that they ruined was to drive screws into an old piece of lumber that they found in the attic and slap a coat of paint on it. They did not even bother to sand it. They also destroyed my drop ceiling and left me with 4 ruined ceiling tiles. This cost me $200 to get fixed. Called Mr Home to inspect water in the basement. No foundation cracks and they suspected the venting on the furnace. They have NO idea what they are doing. I wish I could post of the picture of the joke of a "repair" job they did. They are not HVAC qualified but installed vertical exhaust to a side vented pipe. Instead of using a solid horizontal pipe to connect the house pipe to the vent, they used two swivel connectors. Not code, dangerous. We finally had a certified HVAC come to the house. They said we should bring them to court to get our $900 back. They are willing to sign a statement that says their "work" from not per code, no permit was pulled and could have resulted in a house fire. read more

Warning! Do not hire this company. Owner is a scam artist. He does have a license, but his workers are about as good, and maybe worse, than any Joe Shmoe that you would see hanging out at Home Depot. I hired him in Sept 2015. His workers did not install Windows or column correctly. He also promised to repoint the basement, but never finished. They damaged my walls, and were so bad I finished myself and asked for a refund. Then this guy illegally takes photos of the basement without my permission, stating that he needs them to figure out the refund. He never gave me a refund and the photos showed up when I took him to court. He totally lied, saying that he follows the contract and never promised to repoint. See, he writes chicken scratch in the contract, but tells you something else in person. He lied in court, calling me a racist and saying that the damage was there before I hired him. Yeah, that makes sense Mr Sweeny. I paid you 1,400 dollars to spray my walls down with a 30 dollar jug of acid wash, instead of having holes fixed. This guy should be in jail. This guy is a scam artist. We hired him to install a new sump pump in our basement due to water seepage after the dreadful rains we had in the Spring. He came out to give us an estimate & went outside to scope out where the drain off would go. On the contract he wrote 30 ft of piping and verbally told us it would drain off into the woods that bordered our lawn. His men came to install the sump pump on a Friday, we had no issues with his workers. Fifteen minutes after they left we went down to the basement and saw water was once again seeping into the basement after the new sump pump was installed. We called Mr. Homes and he was rude, telling us his men had done as instructed. I got angry and told him the water is back to seeping in and now the newly poured cement that his workers poured was also seeping along with the water that was pouring in. His workers returned and found that sand was pouring into the sump pump preventing it from pumping out the water but they couldn't do anything unless their boss Mr. Sweeney authorized them to. They offered to come back on Saturday if we told Mr. Sweeney what was happening. We also informed them that the 2x2 pit they put out to collect the water was NOT dug in the woods like we were told but rather they dug it in our lawn and covered it with rocks which was now creating a small pond on our beautiful lawn. They told us that the contract stated 30 ft of piping and that the 30ft ended right on the lawn. Friday night the pump ran all night without stop, it was filled with sand on Saturday morning preventing it from working properly & our basement was once again flooded. We tried calling Sweeney that morning and he didn't return our call. Saturday and Sunday we kept scooping out the sand with a soup ladle to help the sump pump work but water was still seeping in and we were constantly using the wet vac for those two days. On Mon we tried calling Mr. Sweeney again. Again he didn't pick up his phone. By Mon afternoon my wife & I started to dig a 4x4x4 hole in the woods, which took us two days to dig. On Tues afternoon we bought more piping to extend the pipe from 30 ft to 40 ft which now brought it into the woods and off our lawn. We dug out all the rocks they had filled into the 2x2 hole they dug and filled that back in with soil and replanted grass seed. We then went to the quarry and got two truckloads of rock to fill into the new hole we had to dig. We also had another company come out to look at our existing problem after having this new sump pump installed by Sweeney. They told us that the pump that Sweeney installed could very well freeze in the winter and burst. They told us that Sweeney's men didn't use felt that would have prevented the sand from pouring into the sump pump which caused it to back up and caused the water to pour back in from the foundation. Lo and behold on Tuesday late afternoon FOUR DAYS LATER Sweeney calls us back and asks what the problem is. My wife blasted him. He's supposedly a professional who should have known that you don't dig a hole and fill it with rocks in the middle of anyone's lawn where it would trap water. He told my wife he NEVER measured and just estimated on how much pipe would be needed. How idiotic is that? He asked what he could do and she informed him we had spent the last two days (we are senior citizens mind you) digging the new hole in the woods, we had purchased new piping, made two trips to the stone quarry and refilled in the hole his men had put in our lawn. My wife told him we had already given him 1/3 were willing to give him another 1/3 because none of this was his men's fault but rather his and he shouldn't be making a profit off of the totally inferior job. He sent us a bill for the entire amount weeks later which we refused to pay. We ripped out the inferior sump pump he installed and went with another system that would not chance freezing. Once that was installed our daily chore of scooping out sand from the first sump pump was a thing of the past. My wife and I hired Mr. Home to waterproof our basement. They installed interior curtain drains, a new sump pump, acid washed the walls to remove mold and mildew, installed a new work sink and epoxy sealed the floor. The team of workers (they call themselves the A-Team--Bernardo, Harry, Craig and Jose) were courteous and professional. They did an amazing job and they were enjoyable to have around. read more

He said his GUARANTEE For no water in the basement doesn't cover what i paid for after he the contractor came inspected the problem and told me exactly how i could fix the problem. I 've had these folks do several things to my home I find that their work was done in a timely manner and correctly. Their price for work done was very reasonable. I was impressed that their workers were dressed for their and my safety in mind. I had mold in my attic remediated and certain procedures MUST be followed. They showed up exactly on time and did exactly what I asked to be done, so much so that I am having them return to do more work for me. I would highly recommend them to any of my friends and will do so if requested. My home is better after having them do work on it. Five stars for this company. read more

1). We hired Mr Home to waterproof to exterior walls of our basement. They were first supposed to remove several layers of old paint and. I think they did a little scraping of what was obviously loose then covered the wall with waterproofing paint. Within a month water stains were already showing through the new waterproof paint. 2) We also had Mr Home replace our bulkhead and fill in the holes and resurface the concrete around the bunker. The concrete started crumbling with a couple of months after they finished the job. 3). My husband called Mr Home to complain about the work and wanted them to come back to fix the problems or give us half of the labor cost back. Mr Home was unwilling to work with us in anyway. 4). When I was handed the bill at the end of the job, it was crumpled and half of it was missing. This guy was just the messenger. I told him to call his boss and tell him to mail me a bill that was not torn in half as I wanted to keep a cop for my records and I wanted to be able to read the whole thing. read more

We hired Mr. Home to do work on a studio because we were concerned about mold. They weren't cheap, but did a decent job, and the foreman was really good about communicating with us. So when we decided to build a screened in porch, we called them. They gave us a decent proposed price, though I had to call several times to get the owner to come by, and then again to get the proposal. It was pretty basic. The work they did was not nearly as good this time. I had to push them to do things they agreed to do, things aren't square, the doors were hung horribly and were of the cheapest (worst quality). We wanted different doors, and they said they would order them, but never did. Never returned calls. In addition, they left a mess in the work area that I had to clean up. I would never recommend them or use them again. It is my understanding that the foreman from the first job left this company. If I knew his name, I'd probably recommend him, but not Mr. Home. read more

my mailbox was near my driveway and people would tap it when they turned around in the driveway. so we had mr home move it to a different spot on the lawn. they sent this kid to do the job. i don't think he was to experienced on what to do. because just over a year from when it was done . the mailbox started to lean. it was coming out of the hole in the ground. we called and told them about it. they looked at it and said they would be out the next day to fix it. it rained so we figured the next day. no one showed up. my husband called they apologized and said they would come the next day. no one showed up. he kept calling to the point that when he called it would go to messages, so he called on his cell phone and got them. again we'll me out. this is a week/7days staying home waiting for them to show. then someone called and apologized again and said they have been a little busy but they haven't forgot about and will be here that saturday. no one showed up until the following monday aroung 4 pm. he looked at it told me the cost, which i didn 't agree with because this was supposed to be done right the first time guranteed (but from what i now understand for a year). he said he can take a little off the price if he fixed it. or he would tell me what to do to have someone else put it in. we reluctantly had him do the work for the discounted amount. it is now done and hopefully it will last. i know the bigger jobs are more important and more money then my little job. but you think a company like this would want to back up there work with charging you again and come and fix it when they say they would. i could't make and appointment to do anything because the said the were coming and then the didn't show up. this is not the type of customer service i would expect from mr home. i have used them in the past before and was very satisfied with the work. but not so satisfied now. read more
