I called around before going to his shop, mens wearhouse, jackson & connor, they were all saying 6+ week turn around time for a suit. I had a wedding coming up in 3 weeks and I couldn't wait that long. I called him, and he said no problem, so immediately drove over.Depsite coming in 15 minutes before closing time (a fact I am not proud of) he expertly picked out a suit for me, pinned and ordered me the correct jacket size, and I was out the door. He got it back to me hemmed and tailored in under 2 weeks for a very reasonable price! It was my first time getting a suit, so I had no to completely rely on his expertise, and he did not dissapoint. This is the only Tailor I would trust with an expensive garment. We have used them for so many years. He rebuilt a suit for my husband that I bought too large. I thought it was going to cost a fortune but it did not! It was amazing! I messaged Mr.Hamdi in a panic to check out a mother of the bride dress to see if he could make it work for me. I had only 11 days to send it back or I'd have to keep it. He came in after hours to accommodate my crazy work schedule, calming me down. I haven't run into anyone who has had a bad experience there. Then when I tried on my wedding dress last minute after only having tried it on before the pandemic, the straps needed to be let out three days before we left. What an Angel!! I came in with a dress for my brother's wedding -- no biggie -- that had been Supremely botched at a previous tailor that I only got back the day before the wedding as the previous place just, never called me. I cut & hand-sewed the hem trying to make it wearable. Took it into Hamdi the next day thinking Surely there's no way he would have the time to be able to go over my "work" with a machine to secure it. He not only did that, but Fixed my sewing & made it perfect!!! And he did this in an Hour!!! Like I have Never had such an Incredibly Positive experience!!! Ever! I really can't recommend this place more highly. I brought Hamdi a big pile of shirts that never really fit quite right, and he worked through all of them, having me try them on, tucking and pinning fabric here and there and asking me what I thought. I really didn't know what to think at the time--I'd never had shirts altered before--so I mostly said "looks good." Hamdi seemed to know what he was doing, so I trusted him... Meanwhile, he kept me entertained with talk about how alterations worked, what he thought about living in the Pioneer Valley, some stories about how he got his start as a tailor, what his life used to be like back in his native Turkey, and so on. I actually had fun and I learned a lot! I picked my shirts up the next week. They look beautiful and feel great. I said so and he replied, "this one isn't perfect" and pointed to a spot on one of the cuffs that supposedly had some imperfection. Well, if so... I can't tell. To me, the shirts look 10x better than they did before I had them altered. If you need alterations, go to Hamdi. I will definitely be returning in the future. I will also be telling my friends. BEST TAILOR EVER!! I have taken many things to Mr Hamdi from pants to be hemmed or have the zipper replaced, to bride's maid dresses, to men's suit jackets//blazers. Not only is he friendly; he is incredibly talented. Everything comes back to me better than I could ever have hoped and the prices are VERY reasonable. I will not go anywhere else. This summer Mr. Hamdi altered my wedding dress, which was a much bigger, more complicated job than I had imagined it would be (because I don't know how to sew). I am embarrassed to say, I only gave them a few weeks to do it (and it was prom season!) but he got it done when he said he would and it was perfect. I just moved from Boston to Deerfield, MA and looking for vendors was a task because I did not know much about the area. Luckily working at a school I had a lot of resources and reviews to go by. My wedding was 5 months away from when I moved to Deerfield and I had my large ball gown dress to get altered. Instead of bringing my gown back to Boston for alterations and having to go back to pick it up I was on the look for a reliable tailor that had experience and work like I would receive if I used a city tailor back at home. I was so nervous about bringing my gown anywhere so I was diligent in my search. I went to Hamdi's shop and he was very friendly. He explained the ropes of the area and tailoring in town. I first brought my gown in to how him and ask him what he could do. It has 7 layers of tulle on the bottom. He was confident and explained everything he could do to alter the gown. I booked an appointment with him a few weeks later to come back for the alterations. He was so accommodating even during upcoming busy prom season. I came back for my appointment and he was so professional. He had my dress ready when I needed it and made me feel very comfortable leaving it behind. The dress was ready on time and when I tried it on for the fitting, it was unbelievable. The hemming work was flawless and I loved the gown even more as it poof'd out perfect to my height. I looked like a princess and I am glad I put my trust in him and his work. So if you are new to the area, or live here and haven't used hi, for tailoring you can take my advice and go!! I am such a stickler when it comes to perfecting things, especially for my wedding! We get married next week and I cannot wait to wear my perfect gown! I honestly hate to do this since I really liked Mr. Hamdi based on my first visit. In fairness I have had pants hemmed well and pretty quick. I was far less happy with his service for my wedding gown however. It was lace and two sizes large for me. I wanted it taken in and the length needed a slight hem. I got no call (or appointment) when the initial work was done. It was a little big still, needed bra cups sewn in and I wanted the beaded belt attached, all of which was fine. Six weeks later (one month from my wedding) I had heard nothing so I dropped in to inform him I had bought a second dress and picked up that one to sell. When I inspected closer, the tulle on the bottom wasn't cut very straight and none of the three final adjustments had been done. My mother had paid up front for it as well as for her own dress to be altered (separate a connected shift dress and cardigan). I went back to tell him of my disappointment and ask if he was willing to return any of her payment since he didn't finish either job. He claimed both were done and that my Mom hadn't said she wanted to use the cardigan so he left the edging unfinished. I wasn't trying to be rude or demanding but I really felt that my expectations (and Mom's) were not met. He argued that they were done and then ignored me, going back to work.
