The representative Johnny gave me a price quote and told me to bring the vehicle in on Tuesday since they were booked for the weekend and it was Friday Brought my vehicle in on Tuesday morning i was greeted by Tiffany who was working the customer service desk. After a further discussion into what I was wanting to do, it was recommended that a technician look at transmission fluid since the vehicle had 112,000 miles on it and the fluid had never been changed. After the technician looked at the fluid, it was determined that I probably shouldn't drain it and certainly not have it flushed out as it could cause problems. Current, I have no issues with the transmission so it was not changed. I appreciated the honesty and very timely check. I also was greeted early on by another associate Madeline, who was very friendly and was going about her assigned work as well.. This shop is busy, but they took time out for each customer and my brief experience was pleasant.

Recently the dealership told me that I needed a front brake job and only had about 3 days on my current pads. Their estimate seemed excessive to me so I passed on the repair for now. Took it to Brake Solutions and they found all the brakes were in good shape and the front pads still had about 15,000 miles on them. Austin would not charge me. On top of that their estimate, if I would have needed the work, was more than half the price that the dealership quoted me. They strongly urged me not to wait and said I should come back as soon as possible. Concerned for my safety, I even took time off work to have my brakes checked. Wanting a second opinion, I went to Brake Solutions. Even after knowing what the other shop had told me, they performed an honest inspection and informed me that my brakes still have an estimated 30,000 miles of life remaining. They could have easily sold me a brake job I didn't need, but instead they chose honesty and integrity. Their professionalism, transparency, and ethical business practices have earned my complete trust. His shop does great work, he is extremely friendly and best of all he is as honest as the day is long. I met Sam after another auto repair shop (Belden's Auto on Prue) told my girlfriend that she had a blown head gasket on her Explorer. They claimed to have done multiple leak down tests with it failing each time when she developed a code after she let it overheat. The car had been missing so I figured it was the worst case scenario and believed them. I talked to quite a few places about repair/engine replacement since the first shop immediately tried selling me an overpriced engine. I tracked down and purchased an engine online. After calling around Sam offered me the best price to put it in and allowed me to drop ship it to his shop. In hindsight...I should have just taken the car to Sam and had him look at it. Needless to say the engine showed and I dropped off the Explorer. Sam called that afternoon and said "the engine in her car is fine...you just have a bad plug wire...I'm more than happy to put this new engine in for you but it would be a waste of money." We both laughed and I sent the engine back. He saved me thousands of dollars and could have easily taken me to the cleaners. Needless to say I won't be going back to the first shop ever again. Since then Sam and his team have taken care of my vehicles. I'm writing this because I took my truck in today for the 100k mile service and an oil change on it, and I remembered I'd never written one. He is my "go to" mechanic and I highly recommend him if you want someone you can trust that will do work at a reasonable price.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience…read more Before leaving my vehicle, I informed Sam that the driver's side window was missing a clip, which caused the glass to move forward. It appears that information was not communicated to the technician, because the window regulator was damaged after the vehicle was serviced. Rather than informing me of the issue, the door panel was removed, the window regulator was unplugged, panel covers went missing, and several screws were not reinstalled. In addition, both side skirts were damaged while the vehicle was in the shop's possession. I had previously reattached them and they were fully secured when I dropped the car off. When customers receive their vehicles back with new problems that did not exist before service, it naturally raises concerns about the quality of the work performed and whether all repairs were completed as claimed. After contacting Sam and explaining these issues, I was told to bring the vehicle back. Unfortunately, the shop already had my car for a week, and now I am expected to spend additional time and go without transportation again to resolve problems that occurred while the vehicle was in their care.
